Better training for some of your staff i had to repeat myself 5 times just to have this gentleman understand what I was saying. Didn't seem to understand towing capabilities. Didn't also really understand basic reading and writing skills.

I rented a 10' truck to store the contents of my garage while work was being done. I traveled 6 miles round trip from the rental location to my home and back. When I returned the truck I was charged a $9.00 refueling fee. For $9.00 I could buy 3 gallons of fuel. I think it is ridiculous to be charged $9.00 to drive 6 miles.

I had originally wanted this location. I was told that I needed to pick up the trailer at another location (Robinson Ace Hardware), which was not a problem. BUT - I was given a reservation for a pickup time AFTER Robinson Hardware rental had closed. Fortunately, I was able to get the trailer I needed at U-Haul of Albany.

I was told to return the truck to this location with the tank half full and I did yet I was charged an additional $6.00 because it did not go one notch above half. I feel like I was mistreated

I was so relieved that they were open until 7:00 PM...I had to rent a van spur of the moment because my car car was breaking down driving from Brimfield MA to Cobleskill NY They had a lot of inventory and I felt safe leaving my car parked there while I used the van for three days.

The front desk "team" were far from professional and one of the employees who was helping me with me rental I couldn't understand the majority of what he was saying as he mumbled and wasn't interested enough to even raise his voice to an intelligible level. Even his co-worker kept telling him to speak up. It was a pathetic circus side show that I didn't have time or patience for nor should I be expected to endure as a customer.

The truck I rented (20') has an outdated engine and gas dependency. It would barely gain any speed even when necessary on a highway and also guzzled a full tank despite a very short trip. It is great but outdated now.

I had chosen a location by me in Slingerlands, received the verification and the words “Guaranteed Location” but then got an email saying Colonie way out of my way. Had to change to downtown Albany and had to pay more for the ramp since that’s all they had. Slingerlands said u would drop off there. I’m very disappointed and will inform many friends/family to rent from other companies than uhaul.

The first trailer was red taged to to light issue so 2nd trailer was full of rust holes and missing plate. After hooking up to it we discovered the lights did not work. Then had to go back to the 1st trailer and found out it was only the plate light. The yard employee was more than helpful and very nice, he did everything he could but you could tell he was embarrassed. It took me over an hour to get a trailer. I really think you need to look at updating your fleet or at least fixing what’s broken.

I rented a tow dolly. Staff at u haul in Albany were helpful and courteous even though it was extremely busy. After I left the u haul yard In Albany I discovered the ramp latch was worn. I used a ratchet strap to keep the ramp in the ramp pocket for the trip to Michigan. Fortunately I had a ratchet strap on board for an on highway workaround. I notified the u haul yard in Michigan when I returned it. I would still use u haul in the future and recommend u haul to friends. Peter Tacy

Although my original rental, (5x8 enclosed unit), had not been inspected and was not road worthy, staff was very helpful in finding a 4x8 available locally, in Cohoes, and get me on my way.

Where do I begin? First, I received an email assuring me that my rental of a 5x8 trailer at 139 Broadway in Albany, NY was GUARANTEED. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told that the "reservation center" must have thought there was an available rental, but the staff in Albany knew before I even arrived to pick it up that no trailer was available per my reservation. What kind of business model is that?? I'm a contract attorney, and a guarantee is a warranty -- an especially binding promise -- that the equipment will be ready per the reservation. I'm told there is no trailer, AND the 5x8 trailer due back at the rental center at 1pm has been re-rented to another customer. I was told that even if it came in on time, I would not be permitted to rent it because it is promised (no doubt "guaranteed") to another customer. So, with no 5x8 trailer to rent, the staff told me the nearest available trailer was one hour away in Queensbury, and I could drive there to pick it up. At this point, I tried to reach the general manager (Shannon Hunt) on his cell phone, but he did not answer, and never in fact returned my call. So I am disappointed, and upset. I have to move two teenaged boys' worldly possessions to dorm rooms in New Hampshire and I have arranged for people to meet me -- on Labor Day, their day off -- to help me pack the trailer -- the trailer I was told U-Haul didn't have, despite my advance reservation. It is now close to noon, and about 94 degrees outside, but I go walk through the lot, to avoid saying anything obnoxious to the staff. That's when I see there is a 5x8 trailer sitting on the lot. It is within clear sight of the office. So I bring it to the staff's attention, and they don't even have it in their inventory. They have NO IDEA it's sitting right there, the first trailer on the lot, but they are happy to send me an hour north to pick one up! What kind of business model is this?! I have to give kudos to Mr. Butler, Roshawn, and Luis because once this was brought to their attention, they did their best to help me rent the trailer that was unaccounted for. Apparently, it was inadvertently dropped off by a customer at the wrong rental center. My take away is that U-Haul doesn't stand behind it's reservations, and the staff is put in the awkward position of having to manage customers' expectations when they think a "guarantee" is actually a guarantee. In the end, a frustrated staff did the best they could to accommodate a frustrated customer, but if they knew their inventory, things would have been a lot less frustrating for me.

When I dropped off the truck after hours, I spent over 15 minutes on hold with various customer representatives to try to verify that I could drop the truck off without using the website. The website wouldn't load (poor cell service) and my phone would not allow UHaul to access my location. The next morning UHaul claimed I dented the vehicle, and deducted $1,328.58 from my checking account. I had taken many photos of the vehicle when I dropped it off, and did NOT damage the vehicle in any way. When I picked up the van no one reviewed the condition of the vehicle with me. The dent was undoubtedly there when I picked up the vehicle, but it was entirely impreceptable. I never once saw a dent, until I went back to the store the next day to refute the claim. This is a FRADULENT claim. UHaul denies any responsibility and transferred me to their disputes department. I will never, ever trust or use UHaul again.
