The owner of the business just watch and waited until I went in and ask someone to help me he was busy changing tires so I waited until he finished I guess the owner doesnâ€™t help his customers!!!!!~

Prepaid rental.Rented from the big uhaul store in Vestavia,Al I was on my way to pick up the trailer when I received a text message say I had to now pick up the trailer.20 miles away. I waited almost an hour to get some one at this place to hook the trailer up!If that the best you have to offer,I wont rent from uhaul again!
I called multiple times to confirm availability and seating arrangement. Was told the truck would accommodate 3 individuals. One person said it was a bench seat and the other person said it was two bucket seats with a small center seat. When i picked it up it was for 2 persons maximum and we had to work out a last minute plan to have someone drive a car out of state with us which was inconvenient and costly.
Everything was great, no problems at all. I enjoyed the experience.
Nothing customer service was great and friendly.
The employees spoke Spanish. We finally found a translator but he could not figure out the paperwork. They said take the truck and U-Haul would email the paperwork later that day. BUT THEY GAVE US THE WRONG TRUCK. (which made returning the truck a mini-nightmare and also cost us more because it was a bigger truck). And no one sent contract or paperwork to show we had actually rented the truck, even after I contacted U-Haul and asked for help later that day.
The battery died. Could not get help from the return Dept to help Pretty upset about that situation
We made a reservation for 12:15 at this location when we got there we had to wait 20 minutes for the employee to eat his lunch before he would help us and we were on a time schedule .We weâ€™re way over charged as well ,we rented the truck for 3 days and only ended up needing it for 1 but still got charged for three even though we returned it after 9 hours of using it .we ended up paying over 200 dollars which is ridiculous .we had to pay 1 dollar per mile and the closest location that had a truck was 20 miles away so we had to pay to back track and we drove 160 miles so we paid 180 for miles and then for the extra days even though we didnâ€™t use it for the extra days .
Helped me out when the other pickup location failed to follow up and call me back about availability. Was very courteous and accommodating. Not the first time i have rented from the Chico's location in Alabaster. Good folks!
In order to improve the experience for the next customer, you would have to change the entire system. If someone goes online to make a reservation then that reservation is confirmed two days prior to pickup, said customer would expect to have that truck at that time at that location. The call that I received only 14 hours prior to when I was expecting to pick up my Uhaul to inform me that I not only had to change locations but that I was going to be delayed six hours to get my truck, and was still not 100% guaranteed to receive one. My suggestion is to change the entire system or at least employ team members who are able to service the customers they are calling.
Other places have taken care of taking the trailer off the hitch for me. But when you are doing it all by yourself, it makes it difficult to be full service.
Discount Tire was the original booking location and no one was there at the scheduled pick up time. The equipment was sitting in the yard but no one ever showed up! Discount Tire, located at 9170 Hwy. 25, Calera, AL 35040 should be ashamed of their lack of care for their customer! We were redirected to Chicoâ€™s Detail Shop through the assistance of Samâ€™s Payment Center who contacted U-Haul directly because I had been on hold for 20 minutes without a response. The gentleman at Samâ€™s took the time to drive in his personal vehicle and allow me to follow him there to assure I received the truck and service I needed! Chicoâ€™s Detail Shop has the 26â€™ Truck I needed; however, when I started down the road on it, I was very concerned the truck was going to make a 170 mile one way trip back home. Does anyone ever check the vehicle before it is rented by the customer? The engine sounded like it was going to blow up the whole trip! When I tried to call U-Haul Cusomer Service I listened to a recording for over 20 minutes without a live voice so I hung up!
Make sure online reservation is processed and truck is ready for pickup. My reservation was not ready when I arrived.
I arrived at my scheduled time and was met by a guy who did not know what was going on. He informed me that the person that took care of â€˜that stuffâ€™ was not there. After I waited for a half hour, he just handed me the key and said take the truck. I did not complete any paperwork and did not have to indicate in any way who I was. I could have been anyone and they would not have known the difference. Instead, I was told someone will give me a call later. I never received that call. I had purchased furniture pads, and the pads were not in the truck. I am still waiting to be refunded for those. The truck itself worked well, but there was less than 3/8 of a tank of gas. I was docked and charged for this and would have indicated this if I would have had the opportunity to sign any kind of paperwork. I do not feel I should be charged the $18 I saw on the receipt.
Through no fault of the The Rim Shop, the U-haul asked me if I wanted to reserve an appliance dolly. I DID reserve one but when I arrived at the site I was told that they did not have any and those were not reserved like trucks. So the website is misleading, if it's not an outright lie to the customer that they are "reserving" a dolly when they are not actually. This was very frustrating. I had to drive to another u-haul store to acquire the equipment that I "reserved". Otherwise, I was very pleased with my experience with U-haul.
This location was great. However I have never been so disappointed in a business as I was at the Uhaul location in Pelham Alabama. 2797 Pelham Pkwy. The man behind the counter was the rudest person i have ever met. He never looked at me the entire time and simply answered "no" when I asked if he had the product I was looking for. Worst customer experience ever and I will not recommend this location to anyone.
The location I was originally sent to was closed - so I was directed to a 2nd location, which did not have the size truck I needed. I was then directed to a 3rd location that did not rent trucks on the weekends (it was saturday) This last location was kind enough to work with me, and I got my truck. So no complaints there, but the whole process was a mess

When rented I asked if I could return truck anywhere, and the response was yes here I am 3 weeks later getting a bill for nearly 300$ for dropping it off an estimate of 10 mile radius difference. I will be in contact with the corporate office on this matter.
Did not receive everything requested. Had to go back and get dolly. Did not get the blankets for covering.
