Paperwork for moving in was quick and easy. The unit was clean and the door was working properly.
Tony P | Overall ExperienceMy wife contacted Uhaul online and reserved a unit, she then received info that was not in conjunction with what she wanted, it was an upper level unit. She called to sort this out, thought she had it taken care of, then went to the office on the morning of move in and they had her at the wrong facility on the wrong floor. She got it sorted out and we moved in, we had a free month since we had rented a truck, they told her that the rental would renew automatically for the next month unless we cancelled. We then received a notice that we had been charged for the rental, we called and got it sorted out. We rented for just over one month, I went to the unit the night before to make sure that everything worked, I got in just fine and had no issues. The next morning I go there with the movers and tried to get in the gate, access denied for three attempts. The office to this facility was not at this location, I tried to call to figure out what was going on, while I was on hold a man who worked there came up and asked if I needed anything, I told him what was going on, he said I had to go to the other facility and speak with the office. At that time someone picked up the call, I was telling her the situation and she said we had not paid so access was terminated, I asked if I could pay her and she said no, I had to go to the other office. At that moment a car came out of the facility and my movers drove in and honked for me to follow, I went in and got the unit opened so they could start, I was then going to go to the office (movers were $200/hr and I wanted to get them going). I then went to leave and couldn't because my card didn't work, I tried to find the guy who was working there but could not. I was waiting for a car to come or go, but no luck. I called my wife who had set everything up and asked her to try to get a hold of someone to see why payment had not gone through. I was running out of time, the movers were going to finish and we could not leave, so I had to jump the gate and run to the other facility. As I was running my wife called and said they were trying to open the gate for me and that I should go back, so I ran back to the facility and got my car out so that I could drive to the OTHER facility to find out about the payment issue. I was speaking with the guy at the counter, he said that it was a payment issue and he would get it processed. I stated that it would have been helpful if they would take payment over the phone, he said "we do." I have no idea what was going on, I just know that it would be pretty funny to see the video of a 55 year old man jumping the fence to get OUT of the facility to try to run to the other facility office to try to pay for a payment that was supposed to be auto pay, only to arrive and be told that it could have been done over the phone with the first person I had spoken with that morning. It. Was. A. Joke.
Paul G | Overall ExperienceSo let me start out by saying I got 2 units here over 4 years ago. When I first moved in, there was the zip tie with the tag saying ready to move in... BOTH units had a bunch of stuff still in there that I had to remove. My boyfriend had the same issue with both units he rented after me. One unit, the door was damaged at the latch area. I immediately informed the property manager at the time. After being told, several times, that they would let me know when they got their order of doors, seeing doors on the property, it never got fixed and I was finally able to get it replaced over TWO YEARS LATER when I brought it up to the new property manager. He even stated he saw all the notes in my account dating back to 2020 regarding the door. Another fun one, was originally to get into the gate, you had a pin code. Mine wouldn't work one day, ended up having to go down to the main location because apparently they discontinued using the pin access and you now need an access cars to get in. Again, no notification of this. Then, in 2022 I went to my units and noticed a u-haul lock was on one of my units (not my lock). After attempting to call the main location (which is nearly impossible to get through to, the system usually says they are busy and transfers you to the call center) I ended up driving over to the main location on Glendale and 51st. When I arrived and told them the situation, they said "oh yeah, that's because your unit was one of the units that got broken into about 6 weeks ago..." 😳🤬 Lovely, huh? They NEVER called or emailed, NO ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY ME AT ALL! Just put one of their locks on it and moved on. Then we get to last year... so I am the reason the signs that usually say "do not allow people to tailgate you through the gate" was removed. 9am on a weekday, some psycho tried to tailgate me in and I wouldn't let her. Long story short, I was attacked and attempted carjacking. Even though they have cameras right there, the police were useless as were the property cameras at the entrance (or so I was told) because somehow the cameras weren't good enough quality to read the persons license plate. The property manager felt bad and at least gave me one month for one unit free. So, kudos to Enrique for at least attempting to make it right. This property has NO STAFF OR SECURITY! Finally, I moved out of my units yesterday. After talking bad about the property manager to me, the guy at the counter refused to pro-rate the month for me and the guy just said "no, I can't pro-rate it for you, but at least you don't have to deal with us anymore..." I WILL NEVER RENT STORAGE FROM U-HAUL AGAIN!
Caitlin G | Overall ExperienceMove in went seamless, thank you!
Michael W | Online Move InGreat customer service also nice clean storage
Victor M | Overall ExperienceStorage was great. I wish they were open more later in the evening than their current nightly hours they have. Never had any problem with them.
Frankie G | Overall ExperienceThank you to Adam, who corrected the mistakes. I first spoke with Adam by phone to reserve storage unit. He confirmed 3 large climate controlled units were available at the 51st Ave & Glendale location and that he would reserve the ground floor for me (super-important to be on ground floor). He also confirmed I could redeem the "1 month free" offer through my recent truck rental. He suggested I back up our conversation via an online reservation, as he was having computer issues. I made the reservation online using the details he and I spoke of. My confirmation email noted a different address and no clarity on which floor my unit was on. I phoned to gather more info. The manager (Glendale & Northern sites) said I was on the 3rd floor, not the 1st as I requested. After a brief pause, he returned to say I was on the 1st floor, but at the Northern site, not the Glendale. He said the Glendale address was listed on the confirmation email simply because that is the business office but that my rental unit would be located at the Northern address - he said not to worry. "When you check-in, you'll receive a map of where your unit is". When asked how that works if I check-in online, he said to just plan on the Northern address, that I would receive my unit number after I complete check-in. (Sending confirmation with inaccurate detail raised question, for sure. He was a bit snarky and not someone I would choose to do business with again.) The day before my rental was to start, I used the provided "check-in online" link. It continually refused the uploads of required images and would not complete. I then tried to create an account at the app. It continued to text me codes but would not advance to the next screen. After 2 hours of missed attempts, the system completed the online check-in BUT it continually denied my 1-month free code. AND my confirmation noted my unit was at the Glendale (business) office address and unit 0319, not the Glendale site on the 1st floor as the manager had stated. The day of move, and trusting the manager that I was indeed at the Northern location and on the 1st floor, I headed over in advance of the movers. Ha! The confirmation email provided NO ACCESS CODE. No staff at the Northern site, many frantic calls to Customer Service for the access code only to learn I had to drive to the Glendale site for a swipe card. Movers are now waiting at the Northern site, $50 / 15 mins - I dash to the Glendale site. Adam confirms my confirmation email was correct and that my reservation was wrongly still at the Business Office location on the 3rd floor. WHAT??? I understand he quickly made the corrections to the Northern site & the ground floor, he said he was reimbursing the month charge I paid to honor the 1-month free offer, gave me 2 swipe cards and I was on my way. An absolute fiasco. The poorest communication I have ever experienced from a business and not at all the experience I have been used to with years of U-Haul business. Suggestions: CS training for your manager, improved reservation system, app maintenance to ensure it actually works, get your stuff together. Did you know there are u-tube videos on how to get your U-haul app to actually work? Ugh. Good thing - the unit was super-clean upon arrival!
Paul G | First ImpressionsI have rented from this particular storage when they first were brand new and opened up and then I rented again and they were wonderful still.
