is there a metal frame inside the box to hang the letter hanging files?

It is not. Our standard File Box will accept hanging files.

i bought and assembled this but can't figure out how it is intended to close. Is there a photograph?

"The 3 slots interlock with one another. You would take the center piece of one side and slide it under the center piece of the other side."
