I had to pick up a stand up freezer...I wasjt able to use a trailer due to the hitch and ball size and mine was seized on my truck. The Uhaul rep told me that refrigerators can stand up in their small cube van, and that she has done it before...when I get to where I bought the freezer, there was absolutely no way it would stand up inside the cube van and the business was closing. It was my fault for not knowing the dimensions of the freezer, but I took the Uhaul rep as knowing what she was doing. I had to lay down the freezer...when we get back and told her, she said well I shouldn't have put it in the truck and I should have called Uhaul!! The appliance store was closing and what would Uhaul do if I called while I wasn't there!?!? She offered no help, and just said to speak with manager in the morning. Zip for customer service skills, won't be using them again.

My reservation was "lost" and so at the last minute I had to go pick up my truck at a different location on Walden Avenue in Buffalo. When I got there they gave me the truck with literally 2 MILES to empty! I had to immediately go to the gas station and fill up. Not easy in the city with small gas stations! The truck had A LOT of trouble shifting gears and sometimes would not shift. Not a great experience especially given the long distance we needed to go.

The woman who made our reservation over the phone was very nice and helpful. The man who checked us in for pickup was not very friendly and was dismissive of my questions. The truck we rented was really nice. We dropped off just after closing time and we're doing the check in on the website when a female employee who was just leaving the building asked if everything was okay and if we needed any help. She was very personable. Overall it was a great experience.

Train your employees on how to defrost trailer plugs. Working in Buffalo weather you’re going to have frozen equipment. My employee had no clue on how to defrost frozen equipment.

Make sure to go over the mileage out and advise the person to check them both... the odometer on the truck was 1 mile higher than on the paperwork. 1 mile isn't a big deal to me but I would imagine to others it maybe.

The entire experience was a disaster. I ordered moving supplies from one location and then was to pick up a truck and trailer at another location. This occurred over three days and just seemed like it would never end. I went to pick up my PREPAID items at the location they told me to and there was no record or reference of the order or the items i purchased. I spent 45 minutes while the clerk called numerous associates, haul helpline etc to get clearance to allow me to take the items i had already paid for. The next day I went to pick up the truck at a different location then I reserved it at and the truck had no oil in it, which was made evident from the oil light on in the truck. Associate maybe multiple trip to get a rag, trip one, to confirm the oil was low and then two more trips to get a quart of oil as the first part was not enough. Another hour sitting here. My third day was my third location which was the address listed above to pick up my SUV trailer from the third location. Upon entering their were two associates working and no-one else in the store. After waiting 5 minutes i was told someone would be right with me. Then another customer walked in inquiring about a rental and was immediate assisted. When the associate noticed my obvious distain he told the other man work to "help this guy". I proceed to pay for my trailer and all the insurance as I was towing a newer vehicle. After hooking up the trailer i was giving minimal guidance on how to secure the vehicle, but was told by associate "He could not assist in securing the vehicle to the trailer due to liability". Interesting, so if I just left and my vehicle rolled off the trailer the insurance i just bought would cover it but the associates are not allowed to help me check to make sure it is secure or anchored correctly. After climbing on the gravel in shorts and sandals for 25 minutes to make sure my SUV was secure to the trailer, I noticed that the trailer light was out. I had to then drive back around the building so that maintenance could look at it. After endless trip back and forth to the shop, one tool at a time, one part at a time, the light was final fixed. I spent another 2 hours at uhaul that day bringing my total to about 4 hours of time sitting and waiting around because multiple people could not check items that were to be rented. I wasn't even offered an apologize for all the inconveniences. This experience was so bad that I rented from Budget for my second move. I will go out of my way to never use uhaul again regardless of price.

Fuel in the 15' truck I rented was not full--was more like 7/8 full--despite the pick-up documentation stating it was full. I was suspicious about the fuel level, but I was unfamiliar with the fuel gauge and it was snowing pretty hard, so I did not raise this issue with the West Seneca location. My suspicions were confirmed when I refueled--the gauge showing a full tank was clearly different than when I picked it up. Difference was probably 3-5 gallons, but it is something I will never forget.

The manager at this location went out of his way to help me after a Budget dealer canceled my truck one day before my daughter's move. No trucks were available in our area and he recommended I rent one in Columbus and do a one way. It saved my bacon as my daughter closed on her house sale and had to get out. I called him back to thank him again for being so helpful.

The drop off was just a huge mess people parked all messed up causeing me to park in a non drop off location. And I didn’t know about doing the whole app return thing untill after I dropped key into box

Pleasant people but several issues kept this from being a first rate experience. My pickup of 15 ft resulted in person bringing out the wrong truck, then when that was corrected after getting in I noticed the driver floor board had a fair amount of dirt on it. Upon returning, the the lane was full so I was directed to start a 2nd lane. After emptying my personal items no one came to me or directed me what to do. I finally went inside and waited and no one was there and after a reasonable period again went outside to the return lane and no one made contact but a rep pulled another truck to side of building after awhile I saw her enter the building on the side. I went to enter the building and now 2 people entered from side of building and began discussing types of trucks while I continued to wait. Finally the rep took my keys and asked if I wanted a receipt or an emailed receipt. To save time, I accepted email. Pleasant people but definitely not the most professional execution of customer service for a 10 am pickup and 5:30 return. Acceptable- adequate but not first class.
