Another poor experience at South Capitol Street U-haul. There Owner/Manager, Ms. Margaret Cole is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and lack-luster component of the entire store. In more cases than not, she has been the absolute worst to deal with. I continue to patron, as it is convenient to my storage unit and dwelling. However, after my last reservation, I am very skeptical about keeping my upcoming reservations at this location. I reported my grievance to U-haul and have yet to hear back from the store supervisor and/or owner. They stated it would take three days, and it has been a week.

The counter staff was unbelievably unhelpful, rude, and condescending. And I was the only one in the store so it’s not like he was busy. The truck was an older model, so I didn’t expect it to be pristine, but the staff person helping with that had to clean it out while we waited. (That man was kind, at least.) The day before, we rented a truck from the other Capitol Hill location, and the experience was fabulous: friendly, helpful staff and a pristine truck. We will never recommended this location to anyone - quite the opposite- we will warn them to not use this location unless the enjoy being treated like they are inconveniencing the “customer service” man. Unbelievable.

I was totally dissatisfied with the level of service I received! I waited entirely too long and I also was given the incorrect information about my gas return of the vehicle! My overall experience was horrible! My truck seat belt didn't work, while using the left turn signal my wiper blades were in motion, the driver mirror was sturdy so it was hard for me to see, there was tissue holding the mirror in place

There was only one (1) clerk on a busy weekend, others (one was a manager) just walked around yelling information regarding a customers issue, instead of coming over to assist the customers issue (poor management service). Also, when I returned the truck, there was again the same one (1) clerk and a long long long line. I could not get the fast track app to process my return so I had to wait. I will try the express app should I have to use uhaul again.

The morning crew that provided a vehicle to me was great -- organized, quick, and efficient. The afternoon crew that was working when I returned the vehicle was the opposite. They couldn't be bothered to check-in the vehicle and seemed to have a lot of excuses about how each delay was someone else's fault.

Although the truck was clean the body damage to the truck was very visible. The alignment on the truck was way of causing the truck to shake as it was driven. The light on the dash board were out causing me to have to use a flash light to check the fuel gauge. The check oil light indicator was on the whole time I had it. Then I was charged more than what we discussed at the store.

All of the staff made sure my order was filled and helped me make sure my iPhone GPS was ready. Plus, I have one lower limb that is disabled. The garage staff found a plastic milk cart that was strong enough to make it so much easier to enter/exit the truck. I will return to this UHAUL again if I ever need this service.

Equipment was in good shape, people were nice. But everything was disorganized. Service was slow, despite having express check in. Incurred extra fees because staff-side preparations (like putting a trailer hitch on a truck, or draping the cover over my UBox) had to occur after I had been rented a vehicle and was on the clock. Did not receive an extra item I had ordered online ( a-$3 mattress cover).

Only one windshield wiper worked on the truck (driver side) and the passenger side mirror was broken, not able to maintain its position at road speed. Neither of these things was detected until I was far away from the rental location. Also, the truck was leased to me with less than a quarter tank of gas. Which meant that I needed to stop almost immediately for gas. All of this led me to believe that UHaul is not really very focused on the user experience.
