Truck was dirty and smelly... I felt super pressured and there was no return instructions which almost caused an accident, I paid for extra blankets and didn’t receive them I do not plan on ever using uhaul for renting again

Unfortunately, the only reason I feel it appropriate to leave a 2-star review as opposed to a 1-star review is because I felt as though the customer service was doing as well as they could given their workload. When I made my reservation, I estimated I would drive 15 miles and would need a dolly and a dozen furniture pads. When I returned my rental, I only drove 13 miles yet I was charged $130, rather than the $80 I was quoted at the front desk and that I initially reserved. When I returned, I was in a hurry to get back to my car and continue my move, and ultimately didn't have time to wait in line to resolve the price differential. Upon looking at my receipt, they charged me twice for insurance and they charged me for 2-dozen furniture pads, not one. I'd like to think that the employees weren't trying to gauge me but you never know.

I was charged $11 for insurance that I did not want. The employee working did not ask me if I wanted insurance, which has happened at every other U-Haul I've used. She told me to initial and sign a form about damage to vehicle. I did not see that the "Damage Waiver Protection" insurance was pre-checked, meaning that I didn't have a choice to select it myself. It feels like this was intentionally done to increase insurance profits, which is a grimy way to make money. People should have to directly state "Yes" I do want insurance. It is very shady to operate in the way that U-Haul currently is.

I completed my reservation approximately two days prior to picking up the equipment. The morning of the equipment pickup, customer service sent me to a location that was after my original requested pick up time. If you're going to change the customer's equipment pick location, ensure it is at the same pickup time! This change caused me to start my move later than originally planned!

The reservation I made weeks ago for a 17 foot truck was not available. My only "option" was to pick up at a different location. Ended up settling for a smaller truck. Overcharged for 2 utility dollies rather than one. Returned it with the required 5/16th fuel and was charged for a fuel fee.

The customer service was great and efficient. The clerk who checked me in was friendly and so was the team who provided the truck to me and did a return inspection. Definitely a more positive experience than my previous at a different location!

The area is not very good to be in at night. If someone is due back after dark from a late pickup it might be better to have them return the next morning. There were some guys hanging around on the lot when I returned and being a single female I felt unsafe.

No improvements needed. I called into customer service today to praise the staff for a job well done. When I arrived at Uhaul this morning there was a line waiting, not a good sign when you are in a hurry and there's only one person at the desk. Surprisingly this was not the case, Aquina ran the desk as if there were two people. Customer focused and very much in control of the situation. The line moved quickly despite the negative energy of one customer, Aquina pushed on with a level of professionalism which encouraged me to provide feedback to management. I would be remised if I didn't acknowledge the contribution of Linda Thompkins to the experience. I knew from her greeting she was there to assure my rental truck met my satisfaction. I didn't realize how busy a holiday weekend would be however the team at South Capitol Street made it a pleasurable experience. I couldn't stop giving them praise on a job well done.

you guys must be doing something right because lately I have experienced nothing but great costumer service from my dealings with U-haul and that was not always the case in pass years. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

The employees are not friendly at all. Service is poor. My return date was on Sunday at 7:30 PM. The employee failed to tell me that they would be closed by that time and what to do to return vehicle. The contract states that you will be charged $30 if you bring the vehicle back under 1/4 tank. I returned the vehicle above the 1\4 tank but they stated that it was below. I tried dispute the charges and the young lady said to me that I should have taken a picture among other rude statements. My personal vehicle will be down three weeks and I was going to use U-Haul for the three week but by U-Haul employees being dishonest I will never use them again. You lost a few 100's over $30. Bad business.
