NICOLE PMy preference is to rent from a Uhaul full service moving and storage facility, yet unfortunately the availability for the size truck needed was at a neighborhood facility. For my initial online inquiry, the listed price was surprisingly higher than expected. The next day online search offered a rate about 50% less with an additional discount to a drop-off location 38 miles away from my destination. So far so good with a price now about 1/3 of the original! Online checkin went smoothly. I have been a Uhaul customer for over 50 years having rented various size trucks, trailers, and installation of several trailer hitches and wiring which have been good to exceptionally good experiences. Although the rental truck was new and in great condition, the rest of my experience at the pick up location was awful. The facility did not open until 9:30. To his credit, the sole onsite person immediately informed that this was only his second truck rental. While checking in I was asked for information that had already been provided including my driving license that had been photograph uploaded. So far not an issue until the contract was printed with a price 3 times higher than agreed to online. Fortunately I had printed out the online information and had it available. After 35 minutes of attempts by the agent to save the discrepancy on his computer and a lengthy phone conversation with Uhaul personnel, I finally left confused and exasperated with what should have taken 5 minutes. Without my copy from home, is questionable whether the agreed to price online would have been honored.
