Trailer broke down on me. I had to fix tire back myself I had a plug to plug tire where it was leaking air from. And it caused me to be set back and stranded for hours. Not sure if it had a nail in tire from me or when I received trailer.

I reserved a 20ft. truck. When I went in to pick up the truck, the 20ft. had been rented. All that was available was a 26ft. truck. I specifically asked about the gas. I was told that I had to return the truck with the same amount of gas as when I had rented it. Otherwise, I would have to pay $4 per gallon for the gas I used. I was not concerned about the $4. However, nothing was said about a $50 charge if the tank was less than 25% full upon return. The truck only had 3/8 of a tank when I picked it up. When I returned the truck, it had less than 25% gas, therefore I was informed of the $50 charge. As a result, it took additional time on my part and on the part of man I had hired to go out and replace the gas that was used. That $50 charge should have been mentioned upfront, especially when I had asked about the gas and the tank was only 3/8 full. This is very poor business practice. Not sure if this reflects upon the personnel or the the business practices of U-Haul.

I had a $100.00 certificate from the U-Haul Public Relations Dept. as a grant to our church's Community Garden. The clerk had some trouble getting the certificate credited as part of the total payment due. Perhaps some instructions on the certificate would help.

Rented a 6 x 12 trailer. First called the location literally 3min from my home, spoke to the operator and she asked me for a pickup time, I told her 10:00, someone would call me. 10:30 I thought maybe there was some miscommunication so I called back. Turns out pick up was 12:00, O.K. I must have misunderstood, but no one ever called like the operator said to confirm. I drove to the location by my home, and the gentleman looked up my rental and said it was at the other location. Probably 15 min away, and I thought to my self, I'm sure I called the one close to my home. I arrived at the location and the man behind the counter got me on my way, no help nothing. He came out 5 min later, lit a cigerette and stood by the door. I killed my lower back and haven't even packed the thing yet, plus have to drive a hour and 45 min and unload. I drove back to the location by my home and asked the guy if everything was hooked up right and if the lights were in working order. I rented this same size trailer 2 weeks ago from different location. When I arrived the man came out, helped me hook it up, and checked the lights, turn, brakes etc. explained everything to me, and asked if I had any questions. Great customer service at that location. Tried to get back to this location by 8, it was 7:56, got it, it's a Friday and you want to get to your evening, but good work ethic will show when a customer pulls up even at 8:01 you take care of them and not just ignore them. I never leave reviews, but my back is killing me.

Provide a back or second entrance/ exit. Customers can only enter and depart from Council Street. I admire the appearance of the renovated, repurposed building. It is especially attractive from the highway at night.

I ordered a truck from the location near my house (East Toledo) and the day before pick-up I was told that that location didn't have 10 ft trucks, so I had to drive across town (West Toledo) to pick it up instead. When I did, the truck smelled like someone had urinated inside of it.

I went to pick up the trailer and no one was in the store. I stood around for 30 minutes until Steve and another employee finally came in. The trailer had a taillight out, even though the Uhaul employee did an inspection, luckily I didn't get pulled over. I dropped the trailer off later that night using the 24 hour drop off feature and an employee called me the next day asking if I returned it, stating they have not seen it yet. I will never go to that location again.

The first trailer I hitched on to had no lights. I troubleshot the problem (it was not a problem with my vehicle, but with the cable which ran from my hitch to the wiring harness on the trailer--it had a broken wire at the wiring harness connection at the frame of the trailer). I asked the lady behind the counter if she had another cable, but she did not. So then I hitched on to the other RV trailer on the lot. The running lights (tail and marker/clearance) were only operable on one side of that trailer. At that point, I asked her if it would be OK to rob the cable from the second trailer (since whatever was wrong with the lights on that one was clearly downstream from the defective jumper cable) and install it on the first trailer, which I did, and everything was "fine" at that point and for my use of the trailer. I was very disappointed at the check-in inspection that approved these trailers for rental. The counter person was quite pleasant, and I'm not faulting her for not being an automotive electrician. I'm just glad I was able to get one working. When I returned the trailer this morning, I pulled up to the return area, waited a bit, walked into the store, and never saw anybody. I went back to my Jeep and spotted the trailer where I had taken it from and walked back into the store. At that point, the cleaning lady told me the only employee was unloading a truck. Then I found him to check in the trailer (which I had by that time unhitched in my white dress shirt and tie for work). I think this location may be under-staffed or something. I have never had these types of problems at either Reynolds Road or Alexis, where I have gone on numerous occasions.
