The truck that I was given needed a wheel alignment, it was all over the place. The bottom mirror on the passenger side was broke and it was going from side to side as I was driving it on the interstate so needless to say I could not see any cars that were on the side of me . The big mirror refused to move . They also charged me $12 for three gallons of gas and I only traveled about 12 miles. Who uses 3 gallons of gas traveling just 12 miles. I was also told that I could keep the truck out two hours past the time that it needed to be bought in because I needed more time but I was charged for two days. I was reimbursed for some of the charges and that was good but the gas charge was ridiculous and it did not make sense at all again $3 for about 12 miles.

Did not feel the vehicle was cleaned well. The general manager was aloof and did not help employees who were busy. One employee at the desk was new and did not know how to assist clients- needed to be trained before put into that position. Seemed under-staffed. The positive experience was a young man who got the truck for me- knowledgeable and helpful.

The young woman named April (I believe, but hard to remember) was amazing and extremely helpful. I was waiting in the cold only to find out the young gentleman who was supposed to check my truck out with me was hiding inside "until 11" because that was when his lunch break began. April came out to make sure I was being taken care of and even went to find another employee to help her learn how to check out my truck properly. When there were three other guys who could have helped buy chose not to, April went above and beyond to ensure I didn't feel forgotten. I hope she is recognized for her exemplary customer service.

I had so many problems with this location. I placed a reservation online and when I got there we were finishing up the paperwork and after inserting are card the paperwork started over. But we were instantly charged the amount. They kept insisting that they could started all over but we would have to swipe my card again and get charged all over. He also said he could try to get ahold of technical support to see it what they could do. We told him we would rather wait because we didn't have the money for a second charge. After about 45 minutes on hold with technical support he comes over and tells us that hes tired of waiting on hold and it would just be so much easier if we were just let him start the paperwork all over again. We told him that we would rather wait once again. When technical support finally fix the issue we finish our paperwork and he pulled the u-haul up. Our paperwork said that we had a full tank of gas and when he pulled them up we clearly only had 3/4 of a tank and the tire pressure light was on. I asked him if he would adjust the paperwork to which he replied that I could just tell someone when I drop it off at the gas wasn't correct. I decided to take a picture so that I would have proof. I ended up having to stop at a gas station and pay for air on the tire because it was so low I could see it was almost flat. I returned the unit today only to have a second charge on my account. I have rented several U hauls in my life and I know that they generally put a $1 hold on the account and then just it but I had two complete transactions. I called customer service and she verified that I have 2 charges. She told me to hold while she got ahold of the credit card department. I was on hold the for about 15 minutes when she got back on and told me that the credit card department doesn't open for 2 more hours. You would think that that is something that she would have known from the beginning. She offered me a $25 credit towards a u-haul in the future. So now I have to call the credit card department when they open and hope that they can figure out what is going on.

Nothing !!! Jania and Cavelle are the best !! I needed a small trailer and I needed it immediately! When I called their Richmond location they answered the phone on the first ring they were polite they were courteous and extremely professional. Registering the trailer was extremely easy no hassle and extremely efficient ( I have had previous experiences with U-Haul including when I was up in Chicago Illinois and it it was a major hassle and it took three hours for me to obtain the trailer.) !!! Your two employees are absolutely magnificent! My girlfriend and I were extremely impressed and we felt it to be necessary to inform U-Haul management of the great service we received. Very few times have we had such fast and courteous service !!! You made a lasting impression that was full of good news !!! Please past this e mail to upper management and have them e mail us if they would like to speak to us !!!

Rented dolly - it was not in vehicle. Staff at front desk were not welcoming, helpful or friendly. Vehicle looked clean but smelled terrible when I first got in. Vehicle returned at 6PM- recieved a text at 8PM saying I hadn't returned it. NOT impressed.

Truck was very dirty (spilled coffee). Almost no gas, nearly ran out of gas. Because gas gauge not working well, I ended up putting about 10 gallons more gas than I should have. Took 45 minutes to check out and at least 20 to check in.

This location was great. However uhaul as a company gave me horrible service. They changed my reservation to a smaller truck at a different location FIFTEEN MINUTES before my pickup. I was halfway to the original location, which they had confirmed with me the day before. VCU location personnel were friendly and helpful, but uhaul a reservation racket is garbage

The gal I spoke with and the young man behind the counter who got me all hooked up with my van were absolutely delightful and SUPER helpful. All of my questions were answered and I felt confident and prepared driving off the lot. The only (extremely slight) thing I wasn’t expecting was the older white gentleman working at the location who repeatedly spoke over his coworkers a couple times and made it difficult to hear the young man who was helping me. Truly though, he may have just been a boisterous person. Every time he raised his voice he had a big smile on his face. I’d recommend this location to anyone either way. This was the smoothest Uhaul rental I’ve ever experienced.
