This location and its personnel are terrific. Great experience two years in a row. Your corporate online pickup system is a great idea but you ruined the experience by insisting on trying (and failing) to call my alternate contact, who was on a plane at the time. Would you like a note from my mom as well saying it's ok for her 50-year-old son to rent a U-Haul? Needing to reach the alternate contact live at that moment is absurd. Any grown-up adult is going to ignore a call from a number they don't know.

First off this was not my original pick up location. I requested the Fernley, NV location but again U-haul can not fill it's reservation request. I then chose an alternate location in Sun Valley, NV. I called to double check the reservation and that my truck was there. All was good and I was told I could pick it up that day. So a couple hours later I drove the 50 miles to Sun Valley to pick up my truck. Low and behold someone took the liberty to rent my truck out and change my reservation to South Virginia Street in Reno,NV. I was told it was only four miles away. They should of told whoever they rented my truck. I did not receive an e-mail or text about these changes so I believe it was done by some one at the Sun Valley location but they claimed it was done by the reservation folks. Needless to say I apologize to some young lady who bore the brunt of my unhappiness. She was pleasant and and offered a number perks to smooth things out. The truck was very clean but it had mechanical issues the emergency brake would alarm in left hand turns and I believe that something was broke on the right rear suspension since the truck leaned to the right. And know it wasn't load heavier on that side. It got me to where I needed to be so that is a plus. I didn't have time or the desire to look for a different truck. The folks at S. Virginia should of caught this stuff since they looked like a distribution center that does the maintenance of these trucks. So my survey for Sun Valley, NV. is a big 0. Do not use this location drive the four miles to S. Virginia St. in Reno. I think the best thing U-haul can do is discontinue it's reservation service it's pointless it guarantees nothing except to piss you off and cause you more stress and effort and time. All they need is a phone number to a tracking center that will tell you where the equipment is your're looking for and you can call the. the location and reserve it there. These complaints are nothing new to U-haul they have conducted business this way as long as I can remember. I have moved six times in my life and have used U-haul out of necessity not because they are any good on their business end of their company. They have the market cornered and know it. There should be a way to get the word out to boycott U-haul for one month and they would change there tune on customer service.

Very bad experience dealing with this location. Nothing went right both picking up & dropping off. I did not get the specific trailer reserved from the start caused me to have to take a smaller load. Total kaos at that yard.

When I went to load the trailer the employee tried to pull the trailer onto my hitch but the trailer wouldn't budge. I tried to help and the two of us could not pull it 6". I told him the breaks had to be sticking and he insisted they weren't. I had to back the car up to hook the trailer. I took it home and loaded it. When I took off the next day it didn't feel like I was pulling it very easy. My car struggled to pull it, especially on hills. It wanted to gear down to 3rd gear not 4th and the car was sucking gas much more than it should have. When I got to my first stop to fuel up I stepped out of my car and I could smell the breaks were hot and the tire rims were too hot to touch. I went to the only U-Haul in town and the decision was made to unload and reload into a different trailer. I lost two hours on my trip. The rest of the trip went well. My car pulled it just fine with much better gas mileage. This employee needs better training. I intend to stop by the dealer I got the trailer from I explain to the manager what took place.

On return I waited over 25 minutes for them to meet me and then take the trailer off my truck. After inquiring twice with no results I removed trailer myself and then turned it my contract to desk and left.

We arrived about 8am. There was 1 person doing everything and 8 people in line! Seriously understaffed. Person working doing a fine job but his work situation was impossible.

Do not confirm a reservation unless you know you will have a truck. I originally reserved for Sept 1 at 11:00 but was notified the day before truck will not be ready until 4:00 which did not work for me. I rescheduled the 10 foot truck for the following Saturday and when I got there did not have a 10 foot so had to give me a 15 foot which was much larger than needed.

This has little to nothing to do with the specific location or the people who work there, but what appears to be U-Haul policy from what I can see. Maybe it is people not doing their jobs too. My wife set up our trailer rental to be picked up at Oddie Blvd on a given date and time. Within 30 minutes of my scheduled pick up, and 10 minutes from me getting there I got a text sending me somewhere else. I spoke with someone on the phone per the text and was sent to the West fourth st location and told that things would be good to go from there. Once I got to second location I was told they too did not have what I reserved. The girl was nice enough to tell me “I shouldn’t be upset, it was only 3 miles away” to the next store. First off, I could be wrong but pretty sure it more than 3 Miles the route I took, and secondly it took 45 minutes for those 3 Miles. They had the trailer but no information on my rental, I now had to go completely through the process as if I didn’t even have a reservation. One would hope things would be handled with all that, but no... half way through my last scheduled day to use the trailerI get a call looking for the trailer. I inform the person I would be, as originally reserved and then a second time, using the trailer through that date. Since I did have your staff on the phone and I wanted to expand/adjust my rental I set it up for me to return the trailer I had and take a smaller one. I settled on the smallest because thats what was in town, not what I needed nor was it ready when I went to pick up. I again had to start over on the rental including drivers license, credit card, etc... when I expressed my displeasure with my entire experience to the person running me through the whole process again, he completely ignored me as if I didn’t say a thing. I guess the employees were just as bad as your policies. Most likely I will try another company that values my time. I don’t feel like a valued customer at this point. Respectfully, Bill
