Overall I hate the U haul bate and switch. I reserved a 8 foot truck. My reservation was randomly canceled. Then I had to rent a vehicle that was 10 times the size I needed for twice as much money to do the same job. The U haul I rented from did an OK job but the total experience was less than satisfying.

Customer service was VERY slow. Guy at the counter was SLOWLY counting the money in his register in front of everyone while multiple customers waited. I asked if there was anyone else who could help us and was told no. 10 minutes later, still waiting and two other employees walked in and acted like they had no idea people where there waiting and then help us. I rent frequently, but will be using a different location now.

My reservation was changed to this location which changed my travel time from 6 minutes ti 30 minutes. It also changed my pick up time by an hour later. I called and spoke my concern with a rep, she apologized and gave me a $50 flat rental fee and also stated that i would receive a VIP mileage match for the location change. When I got the new location, they were short staffed so i already knew this was going to take a moment. When it was our turn, it turned out that there was no truck for us. the truck we had reserved was being used and to be dropped off at 5 and our pick up was at 5. The rep gets on the phone to talk with the current renter and informed him of his drop off time, and the charges he would pay if the truck was not on the lot in 20 minutes, the truck has another res and they are here to pick up. there is no manager to speak to. The rep called the renter inappropriate names to other co workers in front of us and the rest of people in the lobby. about an hour, he spoke with a woman in traffic depart. and she gifted us a $10 VIP for the long wait and finally getting us a truck. Our storage unit closes at 730, we did not get there until 630. We had to have the truck back by 3 pm which is the only reason they let us use the one way truck that a res at 4 pm the next day. During the drop of the next day there were not notes about the $50 flat rental fee or mileage match. And that should have been during the rental not after which is not what he told us during the chick process when i mentioned it. We mentioned that the truck felt very unsafe and it drove awfully, he made no real comment about this. He doubled charged me, the was still a holding fee from uhaul placed on 4/2/18 that had not been returned, so in total there was 3 charges. I was never gifted the mile match and would have to wait until friday 4/6/18 for anything to be placed back into my account. I have had to post pon bills as to not over draft my account. The customer service over the phone was pretty good, one man shed a lot of light on the situation and what had been done. I had to call to again because of my bank issues and I was given codes to call the bank to get the money put back..... I feel like, at this point for all the hassle and work i had to do to make this right, i shouldn't have to call and check on it myself. I am truly not sure if I will use or recommend uhaul in the future.



Very easy return! Pulled in, they unhooked the trailer and in a matter of a small wait (there were only 2 guys working because it was close to closing time) we were out of there.

I reserved a trailer for 530 pm for 24 hours. I called the day before and told them that I wouldn’t be able to have the trailer back by 530 the following day, so I would like to pick it up later. I was told 745 was the latest I could pick it up. Upon my friend arriving they said that if I could not have the trailer back by 4 pm they would not rent it to me. So originally I rented it for 24 hrs at 530 yet they set up another appointment at 4 pm (these guys must have missed math class). I spoke with gram or grant don’t remember his name but the whole time I spoke with him about this issue my friend said he sat there and rolled his eyes while speaking to me. Very poor customer service and I think these people should be fired for not scheduling right because I did call and got it fixed, but I know there was another very angry customer who didn’t get a trailer at 4pm because of their misscheduling.

Ended up paying 113$ too use a 17” for 5 hours. First off the staff did not go over the contract in person besides saying they will check fuel and mileage before you leave well the fuel was high than the actual gauge so had to wait for them too fix that than they bring back the same slip of paper but crossed where it should be which was not reprinted with the correct fuel. I than later into my rental I needed to know if someone could return the truck for me well I called the local # 825 4495 waited finally got a live person and was told she was going to send a message too the location I rented from and as long as I went back before my ending time of reservation at 5pm I could refill the fuel. Well mind you when my friend returned the truck he was told to just leave the keys on the seat. I came back in person at 4pm to go put 10$ in gas In it and was told my card was already charged and they would have to recharge me a full rental fee I reserved this truck untill 5pm moving is stressful I had a friend drop the truck off and was told I could finish my obligations by the end of my rental time 5pm. Ended up being expensive very hard to contact this company and won’t use them again I was told I can file a complaint too try and get the extra fees returned.

I did notice some pieces of Oreo cookies in the cab, quite a bit actually, and sae an empty Pringles can under the seat. I figure they were small oversights. The customer service was great, no issues with the equipment, and everything actually worked out just as planned.

Uhual overheated on my way back to return it. Had to spend my own money to buy coolant and in turn was late to return it being broke down on the freeway for 1hr. Then they charged me for a full extra day. Nightmare service.

My problem was with the return. Many empty trucks were backed up blocking the return lanes. It was pouring rain and the return agent sat in the truck and made me stand in the pouring rain for 10 minutes while he checked in the vehicle. He could not figure out the charges. He should have allowed me to wait indoors while he figured it out. When I complained about the rain, he was extremely rude. After I called the store to tell the manager and he basically said that was your procedure. Will definitely take my future business elsewhere. I was soaked and my toes were numb for being in the rain. Huge disregard for your customers.
