My rating of poor has nothing to do with the uhaul's pickup location. It has to do with uhaul's load trailering program, which soured us on uhaul overall. We personally went into the uhaul rental location a few weeks prior to our move to reserve the truck. At the time they made no mention of uhaul's new pod/load initiative where uhaul offers incentives for truck renters going cross country to trailer their pods a portion or all the way. So we were pleasantly surprised when We started getting texts with different offers to trailer different uhaul pods along a portion of our route. Being as I have a CDL and drive cross country for work and very familiar with most of the routes, we thought this was a win win for both us and UHaul. I spoke directly to Shannon in uhaul's load Dept that handles setting up the truck renters with the POD/trailer load. We actually were very excited and looking forward to the extra cash to help offset the cost of the move. Uhaul offered us 787.50 to pickup a double pod trailer at their corporate branch in Fort Wayne Indiana and drop it at another UHaul location in Helena Montana. The only caveat was that we would have to pick up the trailer in Fort Wayne during business hours. It also wasn't exactly on our route from Poughkeepsie, NY to Richland, WA, but close enough and the extra money would have gone a long way towards fuel. In fact, our fuel cost for the 3,117 mile trip was approx 830.00, so would have just about covered it. I negotiated 300 additional miles and two extra days for potential inclement weather along the way. Anyways, we confirmed we would pick up the POD/trailer and on Saturday, Nov 21 received a confirming text from Shannon stating that the Fort Wayne uhaul branch was expecting us and would have everything ready to go the next morning. I told Shannon that since Fort Wayne was 670 miles from our starting point that we would have to get a hotel room and would be there at 9 am when the store opened. The next morning when we showed up at Fort Wayne Uhaul, we dealt with Carley and Denise. They knew about the POD we were supposed to trailer, and felt badly, but said that the load Dept was notified THREE days prior by Joshua Steven (their General Manager) that they didn't have the trailer on site for us to trailer and would not have it back until well into December. So I got Shannon on the phone to speak with Carley and Denise in the hope that we could rectify the situation. When it was apparent that nothing could be done, all we were offered was 50.00 for our time, along with the extra 300 miles and two extra days I had previously negotiated, but never needed any of the latter. At the time, we told Shannon that we will probably be moving again within the year and threw out the option of possibly getting a credit to go towards a future move. But got no response. The 50.00, in our eyes, was an insult and didn't properly compensate us for our troubles. Uhaul is pushing this Load project internally, but their branches don't seem to be onboard and communication between corporate and the branches is obviously an issue. And as of today, December 1st, we still have still NOT been credited the 50.00 that Shannon said was the ONLY thing she could do monetarily to compensate us for our time, expense and troubles. We were there on time and ready to go to pick up uhaul's POD. Uhaul let us down.

The guy who helped me when I picked up trailer had an attitude. I reserved the trailer earlier in the day with a young lady and she was great. But when I went to pick up trailer the guy quoted me double what the girl told me. Adding additional costs without conferring with me. I left there very upset. If he has an attitude maybe he shouldn't work with customers.

I made a reservation for a utility trailer but the confirmation called for a cargo trailer. A c all to the call center took care of the error. The error could have avoided the second call and long hold time. Suggestion: :et folks know that they are NOT speaking with an employee at the local U-Haul outlet when calling.

I was a little put off by the fact that I returned the truck with more gas than it had when I picked it up, but was not credited for the fuel, but if I had returned the truck with fuel level below what I taken it out with, you would have a charged me ..... not good policy/karma, shame on you U-haul!

The staff was not very friendly for reservations, pick up, or drop off! When I picked up the truck it only had a half of tank of gas I filled it up for my trip and returned it with 3/4 of a tank and the employee said he couldn't do anything about it? I won't rent here again!

Simple easy rental transaction. Trailer worked well and had no issues. Only complaint is employee who did my return wasn't wearing a mask for C19 when we were outside disconnecting the trailer. To add insult to injury, he vaped while he walked in front of me into the building which he concealed and blew a huge bomb out of his lungs that I unknowingly walked through. Not at all cool...

Don't use Allseanson movers at all. They charge you 3 times the amount . Uhaul will tell you its not their responsibility for 3 party use.

I had a flat tire when I stopped at my house 6 miles away from the dealership. I realize that there was nothing they could have done to prevent that . But the customer service was pathetic and I was on hold for over 1 hour trying to get back to U-HAUL to report the problem. After 3 attempts and being transferred to different departments only to have the same recording over and over, I finally reached a representative whose name was Shannon. I cannot thank her enough for her ability to get me the assistance I needed through the roadside assistance department and within 20 minutes I had a local repair shop at my house and they removed the tire and took it to their garage and replaced it with a new one. I was behind in leaving because of the delay and I had a appointment with a person who I purchased furniture from who I was supposed to meet at their house at a specific time. They we're waiting to help me load the furniture and they were a bit upset because they had things planned for after I was supposed to have picked up the furniture. I ended up being a few hours late due to the tire and not being able to get anyone to respond to my dilemma . Afterwards I notified U-Haul and asked them if they would extend my return time to the dealership and after consulting “management “ she said they could only extend it for 1 1/2 hours. I told her I was down for 2 1/2 hours plus , but she said that they could only give me 1 1/2 . Later that evening I had a follow up message from Shannon asking me if I was able to get things done with the move and I mentioned to her that I tried to get a extension on my return of the covered trailer and I was not able to get the full down time . Shannon say give me a second and that's about all it took and she not only gave me my 2 1/2 hours but was gracious enough to tell me that she didn't want me to rush back from Pennsylvania because of the delay from the tire and she gave me one extra hour which in the end I didn't need but I really appreciate her concern. So in closing I just wanted to tell you that Shannon is a asset to your company and deserves a thank you from U-HAUL for making what originally started off as a very upsetting and stressful day, bearable. Shannon help and concerning manner was what stopped me from my decision to not use U-HAUL in the future ( I'm moving from New York to Pennsylvania) and go with another company. I was called by a regional manager 22 hours before pick up to tell me they didn't have the 10' truck I needed. There was one in Connecticut and I would have to settle for a cargo van. I said with a cargo van I would have to do multiple trips most likely. It was agreed that I would get 500 free miles. Upon picking up the van I was told she onlyauthorized 352. Not enough. I said I wanted the 500 as promised and the check in person had to call someone. After a long hold when she spoke with someone she only asked for 100 more miles not what was agreed to. The check in person said her surpervisor wasnt in the office and would put in 100 more mileswhen she gets in and she could then process me. I asked to be called when this was done.. Well I recieved no call , I just got a text on where to drop off the van and when I dropped the van off I only got the 352 miles. Luckily for me I jammed everything in 1 load cause I felt this would be messed up still. I never get apologys about this so at pick up customer service was piss poor.I'll only rent from you again if there are no other options.

The young men at the desk have weak commination skills. They should be taught to explain exactly what needs to happen. Like "the van should be pulled into the Equipment Return bay, and you should wait in the vehicle." That's ones good one...

The man that I asked a question to was rude. This was my first time picking up a uHaul rental and I did not know the procedure. I pulled up tp the building and asked the gentleman standing outside. I asked him if there were specific regulations that were put in place for the covid 19 and he stared at me. He was also smoking and it smelled like marijuana. He started at me for 30 seconds before he answered my question. It was a very awkward, and uncomfortable experience. He was rude and spoke to me as if I was a 5 year old child. I hope the organization will take action on this survey.

I had an issue trying to return a rented car transport. The app had trouble acknowledging my location. I called the 800 number and was told to go ahead and leave it, and they would note my account that I did. We'll, I tried calling the store for two days to confirm receipt and they never picked up the phone. A few times, I stayed on until the main office picked up. They even emailed the store asking them to call me. Nothing happened. On the second day, the customer rep was able to inform me that my rental trailer had finally been logged back in as returned. I can't imagine that the store was so busy that they couldn't pick up the phone. All I needed was peace of mind that the trailer was received.

There was a damage to motorcycle trailer right next to its wheel/tire. I took a photo and sent it thru decline portion of text message I received from uhaul. Metal part was too close to the tire , probably less than half an inch. In my humble opinion it could've been easily repaired less than 5 minutes Before renting the equipment.
