My recent experience with U-hual was very unpleasant. I initially reserved a truck to be picked up only 5 minutes from my house. Two days prior to my move date I was called by a very rude uhual employee named tayshawn who told me my pickup destination would be moved. Despite the employee's rude manner of speaking and lack of knowledge I was understanding that sometimes these things happen. I was fine when after being asked the employee finally told me that I would be comped the 40 mile difference. Because the pick up location was further away I asked him to change my pick up time to 830am instead of 9:00am. Since that phone conversation I persistently checked my uhual app for changes in my reservation. Everything seemed in order until I arrived at the pick up location. When I tried to perform the self pick up the option was grayed out which was strange because I was there at 8:30am like my pick up time had always stated. After restarting the app multiple times I learned that after I had already driven 30 minutes to the pick up location that my reservation time had shifted to 10:00am. After calling the area field manager he told me that the previous customer returned the truck late last night and it had never been marked as received. I understand this this isn't fully avoidable but what is unacceptable is: that no one had alerted me about this change The app showed no changes No one attempted to find a different truck nearby that was available

THANK YOU! When we walked into the store, there was already a line of customers. Laryssa Vitti was at the counter handling everything as there was a Sick Call that day, and Laryssa was alone. The customer in front of us was a VERY difficult customer, and Laryssa dealt with professionalism and grace. Laryssa had called in coworker Sydney Kruth, who arrived in time to take care of our rental. Sydney was knew her products and helped us get the items we needed, and got us out of the lot in record time. Hats off to Laryssa and Sydney - they deserve a raise!

Trailer was advertised as 4x7 . Asked staff if that was the inside measurement, they said yes. Got to destination with trailer and even though 4x7 was stamped on trailer it was more like 3.5 feet x 7.5 feet. Item would not fit in trailer so I had to take all items out of my truck and move them to the trailer so I could fit my item in my truck instead of the trailer. Please have correct size shown and known by staff.

I could not reserve a van using the u-haul website at the poughkeepsie south road loacation, every date I put in said there were no vans available or gave an alternate site which in my case (Sunday) were not even open. I had to go in person to the Poughkeepsie location to reserve a van, which there were more than enough. Website needs to be fixed!

Well...I was SUPPOSED to pick up a 10' van at the UHaul location at the Citgo on Manchester Road; which is several miles closer to my house. When I got there, there was no vehicle assigned to my reservation...and the owner/ franchisee was on vacation, when I called the provided number. Three numbers later I reached a gentleman who tried to resolve my issue at the Manchester Road site. Unfortunately, there WAS as vehicle--but the key box was empty--so there was no way to use it. I was then directed to the South Road location--again, this is several additional miles from my house--that I had to pay for. When I got there, the people we very helpful; but, there were no 10' vans. I ended up with a 15' van, which I am sure used more gas than the 10' van I wanted to rent/ had reserved would have.

When I first booked my reservation, I asked for the U-Haul location near my home. I got a text from U-Haul that it would be the location I wanted and a local number to call to confirm. Which I did immediately and confirmed live with that location. About two day before my pick up date I get another text and now I have to drive to a different location almost 30 minutes away. I didn't care for the bait and switch.

Truck was incredibly old and should be taken out of service. Air conditioner worked intermittently thoughout a 95 degree day. Lack of power steering fluid, lack of anti freeze. Truck almost overheated on road. Can’t believe the way the truck was sent out. Ridiculous $211 bill for such a way below par experience. Very disappointed U haul Brian Croft Beacon,NY 914-489-4944

We had the same woman working with us on both the beginning rental of the truck and returning of the truck the next day. She was extremely rude. We have been renting a truck from this location every week for months now and now are looking into renting one from Home Depot or elsewhere instead after having such an awful experience there today.

The owner tried to accommodate my reservation however uhaul itself was nothing short of a joke in their customer service. With multiple items requiring multiple locations, customer service only offered additional mileage versus accomodating me for the gas used.

The conformation text message I received stated that I should call the number of the location in order to confirm my reservation. When I tried calling that number it sent me to an automated system and I was never able to get through to a live person. On top of that my original online booking said someone would call me that day to confirm my booking, which never happened. Thank God that someone from the center called me the day of the pickup to confirm or I would not have been able to talk to them and make the changes I needed to my reservation. I understand that everything is done through online but that does not mean you should try to actively deter people from calling in. I needed a 10’ truck and the online system only let me pick a 17’ and ended up reserving me a 20’. It was only when the person called me that I found out there was a 10’ in stock and make the change to my reservation. I almost didn’t follow through with my reservation because I was not able to actually confirm it. Other than that, once everything got going, the service at the location was terrirific and the truck was great. Brining it back was a breeze, the associate finished our billing from his phone outside of the store, we didn’t even have to step inside, great service!
