U-Haul's online system and mobile app work very poorly and need to be fixed. The Geller's were great, but they had a hard time with the process because the U-Haul system is so bad.
All great and easy to deal with .
The mobile app took 3 times longer than what I usually spend going to the counter, 20 minutes to rent a truck after spending 20 minutes reserving the truck the prior day!

The woman working at this location was very rude and I'm not sure why. Maybe she was having a bad day.
I used the self pick-up with my smart phone and found the process easy to follow and the pick-up and drop-off tutorials helpful. However, prior to the pick-up and rental process I had updated my profile with my credit card info and pictures of my license but still had to re-enter both the card info and pictures again at the site a second time. I was just wondering if that was my error or why the system did not pick-up the profile work I had done prior to the rental process. Overall the phone app was very well thought out. I also called your customer service and both the agents were very helpful when I needed a hand truck appliance dolly and to extend my rental return time.

Lots of extra unexplained charges. There wasn't as much gas in the tank as what they said. Not 15/16 more like 3/4. Never go back to UHaul again.
My Original reservation was from the Kingston MA location closer to my home. when I stopped by the day before to check out the equipment I realized that the trailer 16 x 12 was not there. I called and they told me it was not going to be available and deferred me to the one 800 U-Haul number. I was able to find the trailer at a different location in Plymouth on my own. I do understand there is a policy with regards to reservations but what I don't understand is why is there not even a warning or phone call closer to the date to let somebody know that the equipment is not available I do understand there is a policy with regards to reservations but what I don't understand is why is there is not even a warning / phone call closer to the date to let somebody know that the equipment is not available. After talking to the Kingston location I came to the realization that it was never going to be available even when I made the reservation. I don't understand the point of even making a reservation for something that's not going to be there. when you're planning a move there's a lot of variables and A reservation is something your customers should be able to count on. The equipment itself was excellent. The website was excellent.
I got to the location 15 mins early and the website told me I was at the wrong spot 5 times before I backed up 3 feet and then it worked. I followed the instructions, the truck was not easy to get to and there was mud all over the floor and someone's empty beverage left under the driver's seat. The website told me my key would be in compartment 1 and gave me the code. It opened, I then tried to use the key to start the truck and realized they gave me the wrong key. I called the service desk who then transfered me to another department. I waited probably 10 mins on hold before I decided to go back and check the lock box again. I noticed the 2nd compartment had the same code entered into it so I tried that one. It opened and it had the right key. At this point, I had been there for a half hour and 15 mins had been taken up out of my rental time. To top it all off, I had to drive over the curb to get the truck out of the lot because of where it was parked. I will never be using that location ever again.
All went well.
Gellars is great
On line app on smart phone would not work at Mountain City location. Spent over 40 minutes sitting on steps trying to access app for a Sunday return of a 26 footerr. Called dealer next day and they seemed to accept return with no further charges...
nothing to be improved. Gellars rocks.
The truck battery died 3 times while using this unit... I was billed extra miles because the 20' truck I reserved was broken down so I had to take a 15' and make extra trips!
owner was much better customer relationship wise than when i rented from this site 4 years ago. in future would be more open to renting from this site

Be clear about reservation pick up locations

The communication regarding the rental process, including the round trip versus one way options , was confusing. Furthermore, I was contacted by U-Haul 4 days after I returned the truck asking me where the truck was. I explained that I return the truck as instructed at the Kingston car wash Sunday afternoon. Furthermore, I received it over charge of $44.50 on August 9 six days after my rental. The charge was for an extra day. When I called the Kingston car wash To dispute the charge I was told by Andrew that he receives the truck in as being returned on time and didn't know why I was overcharged. He provided me with an 800 number which I called and got no resolution. I'm very disappointed with the experience I had with you all as a created unnecessary problems.
