ulysses gThis was supposed to be a quick mobile pick up that turned into almost an hour venture. I ended up having to spend more than 30 minutes on the phone with customer service trying to get access to a truck. The lockbox holding the key to my assigned truck would not open. Then the lockboxes for two potential replacement trucks would not open. Frustrated and already running nearly an hour behind, I was able to get the original lockbox open, but it was a struggle. Returning the truck was nearly as dramatic. The area behind the building where we are to park the trucks is poorly lit. Trucks were parked every which way in the area back there and it was difficult to find a place to park my truck. Once I parked my truck, the mobile app kept stopping at a certain stage of the return process and so I had it once again call customer service. Between the customer service agent and the app finally operating as intended, I was able to complete the return. However, the area where you’re supposed to return the key is not lit up at all. It is completely dark and one could argue dangerous. I could’ve tripped over a curb or something in an effort to return the key. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to navigate the lot and find the return box. The return process took around an hour. Both picking up the truck and dropping it off were completely unpleasant experiences. The truck itself was nice and clean, but I would not recommend this location to a friend simply because of the logistical problems I ran into and how dark it is behind the building.
Robert CI reserved it through the Alma Uhaul (Troy and Brandi - I REALLLY want you to let them have larger trucks again - REALLLY!! ) - and they happily recommended another nearby unit and reserved it there. As always, the dispatch rerouted my reservation to yet another unit.... on Central Expressway this time. I went to confirm it at the SignPrint unit and had to call to confirm pickup the next day having missed him at lunch ot something. But seriously... if truck rentals were not doing well at the Alma unit... IT MAY JUST BE dispatch reassigns EVERY DAMNED TRUCK THEY RESERVE. I though last two rentals... ( since they lost the big trucks ) were just a coincidence, once to Central; and once to bloody MicKinney. I was used to getting a phone call within an hour of reserving in person... just to have dispatch try to reassign me...I'd drive back over and confirm with Troy... all good ---- every damned time for years. But now... when the reservations aren't even on their lot???? Seriously. You rent trucks. You have trucks in lots of places. There might just be a process for keeping up with them. If not, I'm a software guy. I can write you something. Truck was in good shape. Find out what weir4d deal dispatch has with the Alma unit.
