I rented a 15 footer. this design has a wider rear than front. Maybe there are some tips and tricks that you could give the customer on how to know where the rear is in relation to the front. Nothing happened, but I was nervous all the time that I was too far one way or the other. maybe their is no easy tip or trick but just a thought.

Most of the agents I dealt with in person were cordial and seemed competent, especially at this location, but U-Haul repeatedly failed to keep its promises. On a trailer rental I was charged for extra days I did not use. I was repeatedly promised and reassured that I could pick up at my preferred location, but was then told, only 1 day before, that my pick up would be 80 minutes away. Customer service did nothing to help and one of the phone service agents failed to show even a little sympathy or interest in helping me out.

The general manager, Justine, was awesome and is awesome. Anyone looking to rent should come here and avoid other places because she doesnt play games. There is no hidden fees and everything is throughly explained. Love this uhaul!

I made the reservation 4 days prior to the day I needed the truck at 434-436 W Housatonic St, Pittsfield, MA. 16 hours before I was supposed to get it, just before the work day at the store ended, I was called and told that my reservation was moved to a different location further away and at the later time, 3 pm instead of 10 am. The new location was closing at 3 pm. I also had reservations with men to help me with heavy furniture, that I had to cancel and give them a compensation for the wasted time. When I called back, the employee refused to connect me with the supervisor. When I called a service line +1-800-468-4285, no one one answered the phone in 45! minutes that day and again in 30 min the next morning. It was too late for me to get the truck from a competing company. When I came to this store I was sent to look for the truck elsewhere, even though there were 6 trucks presented at the location my request were refused. Employee, Justine Dus refused to make a call and find a truck at different locations for me. Once again, noone answered calls on service line. Do you actually ever answer it? I spent another 2 hours going from one location to another asking for a truck. Employee at 1335 W Housatonic St in Pittsfield could not guarantee that the truck will actually come that day by 3 pm, but was willing to help and made several calls. Only after he found a truck in the town, 1 hour away from where we were, I was called by Justine from the original location and told that now I can take the truck. That was at 2 pm, 4 hours after the time I needed it. I was not able to get any more help and had to carry heavy furniture with my elderly father. I honestly do not understand why I had to go through all this, when there were trucks on the location. Why did she refuse to help me and walked out from the store? Service is horrible and I will warn everyone that they should stay away from this company whenever possible and be aware that their reservations will not be respected and concerns not addressed. Ever one star is too much for it.

The location was great, truck was clean and customer service was excellent - what was NOT excellent was your app and the process to pick up the vehicle. I spent about 10 minutes going through the pick up process on the app, fastidiously taking photos and documenting things, takings selfies and license photos - process takes about 15 minutes and then I get an error message telling me I can't complete the transaction on line. So unbelievably frustrating!! When I went into the store to get a new truck, I was in and out in 5 minutes...

Reserved a truck and auto transport to be picked up at my local U-Haul store. I get a call the day before telling me I have to drive 90 minutes away to pick up my truck. When I picked up the truck I’m then told the auto transport isn’t available and I have to drive 30 minutes out of my way for that.

Although the cargo van I rented was cleaned, it was obvious that a previous renter had been smoking in it - smelled like an ashtray. Also, the person who was helping when I picked up my order did everything well, but was in a terrible mood and it was a little uncomfortable. I don't expect people to be 100% sunshine all of the time, but maybe a refresher course in customer interaction would be a good idea. Basic people skills go a long way. The other person I worked with was direct and friendly and no-nonsense. The online process for renting a UHaul was great and stress-free.

At the end of my moving day I wanted to find out how late the return location was open to determine whether to return it right away or wait until the next day. Just swinging by would cost me mileage if they were closed. No hours on the contract paper, emails, my account, the website, or any other u-haul source. The local phone number u-haul supplied connected me to the national switchboard - after a 40 minute hold. UNACCEPTABLE! One of the crucial pieces of information needed for a rental: Hours of operation - particularly for a return location - imperative!
