We got a $50 reimbursement due to the truck leaking gas, and a good samaritan who drove behind us reported it to Uhaul. We did not know until Uhaul called to inform us while we returned the truck. The critical detail is that we added gas when we picked up the truck and when we returned it (again, not knowing the truck was leaking gas the whole time). When we got the transaction receipt after returning the truck, we got charged for fuel because the truck didn't have the same gas level as the pickup. We are contesting this charge because we did our part of adding gas, and it wasn't our responsibility that the truck wasn't holding gas. The $50 reimbursement was for causing the inconvenience, as we could've been stranded in the middle of the trip or got into an accident due to the gas leak. Both parties (Uhaul and we) got lucky that nothing serious happened. At the same time, we shouldn't be responsible for the additional fuel charge. We reported the dispute a week ago but never heard back. We've just called again to request a refund. We hope Uhaul will do the right thing to credit us for the fuel charge.

This is a gas station, and we were not provided any receipt or confirmation the truck was checked in/transferred back to Uhaul - we just handed over the key and were told "ok, thanks!". We were expecting either a paper receipt or email confirming we returned the truck to Uhaul as per the contract. Only after calling Uhaul did we get confirmation of the return. Next time we'll look for a real Uhaul location and save the worry. Otherwise, the rental and move was fine!
Stuart H.Charged twice for furniture pads that we never received, even after driving out of our way to a different location. Truck was given to us with a 15 mile gas range which is unacceptable. Truck was in horrendous condition with graffiti all over it and the cab looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Had we not been desperate for a truck we would have walked away. Currently disputing charges with UHaul since they charged a $25 “cleaning feeâ€. WAY not up to Uhaul's normal standards. Go ANYWHERE else!
Jesse H.The team there didn't really know what I was doing there, if the truck was okay to drive (after hearing the counter person on the phone I was a bit scared to drive it after hearing the last person had problems with it driving), the door wasn't closing right which was something in my mind while driving it as I didn't want to fall out, and the return process was difficult as I did not know what I was doing and the counter person didn't speak English.
