We were not aware of the pick up location. When called the receptionist from uhaul said that we had a voicemail. On reflection we did but one problem. The girl speaking spoke so quickly neither my husband or I could understand her. Therefore message not understood.. finally got to pick up location. Main station on Merivale Rd. was no help.
The young man who served me was extremely professional and polite in comparison to the middle aged man who serve me in the past. Both get the job done but give a vastly different customer experience.
The main admin Ryan (I think that was his name) was excellent. Despite a very busy day he was professional and did a good job of letting me know that Dolly's had been removed from the location. Thank you for your kind and patient demeanour. Especially during a time of a pandemic.

This is not a feedback on location but the online check in process. The process is extremely slow and not convenient at all. I am going to go back to renting vehicles only during office hours
Drop box location and instructions were not clear.
Equipment and person i dealt with were excellent. Only item is i called earlier on voicemail with no call back so i went in person anyway and it worked great. It was first day after thanksgiving so i understand and other companies i tried looking at my options did the same with their phones
The customer service agent there was great, as our original truck rental was not available and we were not notified by head office. The agent at this location was able to get us a different size truck so we can go on our way. If they weren't able to accommodate, I would be very upset that UHaul first didn't contact me to let me know and second were not able to accommodate me
Verify the turn signals, it was burnt out
I ordered a 15ft truck and 2 moving dollys at a location near me. I was then changed to another location and then moved again to location not convenient for me. I went to the location. Service was good but no moving dollys. U-Haul had removed them from smaller locations! Why didn't U-Haul tell me this? Spent hour and half getting the dollys! Not happy.
The online check-in process took forever and the needed documents were not communicated beforehand. It was also unclear that the checkin should be completed before arriving at the truck.
Staff made pick-up easy. Very nice guy.
The battery went flat as the lamp was left on in the cab which resulted in us blocking the street for 20 minutes while we wait for jumper cables. Thankfully the rental lasted
The office was a disgusting mess...garbage all over the floor, ripped couches with stuffing coming out of them, dirt everywhere. The van was dirty as well, both in the cab and the box. Also, I had pre-payed for boxes and blankets. My contract said the items would be waiting for me in the van. They were not. Went back in to get them, and the guy there said it's first come first serve. I told him it was supposed to in the van. He shrugged and turned away mumbling "ain't got nothing left here so..." 100% unprofessional and unacceptable. I'll never rent with u-haul again.

Rental went well. Customer service rep at the counter was excellent. But we ordered/reserved a hand-cart/dolly when we booked only to be told at the counter that you hadn't been renting out hand-carts/dollies or blankets since the beginning of COVID, almost SIX MONTHS AGO. Why hasn't the website been updated to not allow people to book those items?? Or why didn't someone reach out ahead of time to let us know they weren't available despite what the reservation confirmation told us?? I could have made arrangements to find a hand-cart somewhere else, but instead was forced to do it all by hand. That REALLY damaged your reputation in my books, and it sure doesn't make me want to recommend your business to friends.
The staff member who helped me was courteous, helpful, and well informed. My only complaint, and its neither this location or uhaul in general's fault, was that Google Maps does not understand where the entrance or parking is, and greatly miss directs you.

The thing that annoyed me the most of this poor experience was the fact that I was given the 9-foot van with half a tank of gas. That is frankly underhanded. I did not have enough fuel to complete my trip and then when I fill up, I give you more gas than you started with and I carry the cost. That is underhanded and frankly unacceptable. I will never use U-Haul again based on this experience
Entrance to the location is not well marked, having difficulty to find. Fuel level of truck was wrongly entered (written as 3/4 in the contract but actually 3/8). Had to go back to the office to correct it. The customer service rep was great and responsive.
When we inspected the truck it seemed alright accept for a few scratches and dents but we did not look inside. It was filthy. I had to sweep out the inside of the truck myself and there was a pile of dirt, hair and styrofoam bits. There were also visible finger marks on the door handles and steering wheel so we had to use disinfectant on everything before we could use the truck. This is really unacceptable especially when companies should be taking extra precautions to ensure safe equipment rental to prevent the spread of Covid.
