the guy accepted our truck but we had to fight it. uHaul sent us in our 26ft to that location & he said that they usually don't accept them. we showed the message i got saying that this was the drop off location so he took it. extremely dissatisfied with all of the mishaps we had to endure on our already busy moving day.KayLee P.

The fact the gas tank is not full makes returning with too much or too little gas a pain (why i dropped a star!). Otherwise, this is my third rental at this location and all have gone smoothly.Rhys P.
We had booked a dolly with our rental as it was an option on the site and we're told that â€œthey are all gone from the weekend. I'm just an independent owner if you go to a larger store they may have oneâ€ The truck had 1/4 tank of fuel it, we put gas in it an retired it with more than we received. There was a snow fall 10-20 cms expected when I picked up the van. My only complaint is that the tires were all season and had poor traction in the snow. I returned the van earlier than originally planned because I didn't want to risk an accident with road conditions being so bad.Sheila F.
The wipers did not have any fluid. It presented a real hazard for the driver due to the strong sun at the time as it was impossible to clean the front windshield (which was dirty). We also had to clear the snow from the car's roof and front windshield before the beginning of the service, which is quite hard due to the height of the van. Thanks.Matias D.
Staff should be wearing a mask when interacting with customers as required by COVID rules. I don't go to other U-haul locations so its hard to compare. The booking web site is generally quite good but it gave a pick-up time of 2pm when I could have picked up ant any time that day.Ron P.

Most efficient staff I have ever had at u haul I'm terms of getting me the truck and processing. They seemed so much more on their game than at any other location. I had the van within 5 minutes of getting therr. My only issue was the ordered equipment was not in the van and I ended up driving back and forth to the uhaul because I was unaware the gear was not loaded. Truck was dirty inside - but also it's canada in the winter so this was not a surprise....Jacob C.

While I understand that COVID has made it harder to offer proper customer service, when I went to drop off my truck at the end of the day, I had no idea what to do with it and was just roaming the courtyard having to ask other customers for a good 10 minutes before I just decided to park it anywhere and drop off the keys. The office to drop off the keys was shabby and run down and it was very poorly labeled so I took a while finding it. In the future, drop off instructions should be sent ahead of time.Alexandre C.

Location was okay. Online check in was a nightmare. Would never try this again. Rental was dirty and didn't have the items that I paid for. Another customer had the same rental truck number as I did when I showed up and it took 30 + minutes to figure it out with the front desk. Online help was terrible.Timothy B.

They do not pick up the phone, and do not return calls either. The place is totally empty, the lot is full with rental cars, no sign of clients coming and going, yet they still claim they are busy and have no time to pick up the phone. Their answering system is still announcing the holiday schedule... I had to drive in from way out of town just to make sure all is well after I returned the rental after close of business the previous day. Two different radio stations are on, the cashier has no manners, talks down to the customer from a distance, and has the appearance of being annoyed by a client showing up. Far be it from him to greet you first. His reply to my greeting sounded like "what (the hell) do you want?" He does not bother putting on a mask and comming closer as he should, he is perfectly comfortable talking to you across the entire room from his chair. The inside of the car was decent, the exterior quite dirty. The rearview mirrors were covered by a solid layer of dirt â€" which was quite dangerous until I got to my destination where I was finally able to wash them.Tibor L.
100 km was to my bill for no reason. I drove it only in downtown Ottawa, and the final bill shows 148 km used, which is crazy. This also means I paid $101.70 for a 1 day cargo van rental. The location told me to file a dispute on this website, which doesn't seem to work as advertised. Horrible experience overall.Srdjan V.

I was very upset with the online app pickup option. I had already submitted pictures of my driver's license front and back sides and it asked me again for it which made the process too long, I wished to have it done through the office by talking to someone as opposed to using the required steps through the app.Juan T.

This is not a shot at the location but the UHAUL service. Its a shame that every time, EVERY TIME, I or someone I know books Uhaul there is something wrong with pickup. EVERYTIME. There are two guarantees in life, you will die and uhaul will mess up your booking. I booked this Uhaul over a month out from pickup date. Two days before I am told that I cannot get a truck until 4pm on the Saturday. I need it at 7am when the movers are booked for! Now I have to go to Carleton place on a Friday night to get it. Yes I was given extra kms and days to do this, but how do you not have proper inventory management to know this more in advance. I wouldnt complain if this was the only time, but this happens ALL THE TIME. Please get a better booking system without adding extra stress to an already stressful situation.Michael O.

The staff here were amazing. It was a really wonderful experience and I would recommend using again. All of the challenges from Uhaul truck rental (our trucks got rescheduled 3 times last minute and we had to change our move-in dates twice with the worst customer service I have ever seen) were somewhat made up for by how accommodating this non-uhaul storage facility was. There was supposed to be 2 differ t types of dollys /trolly in the truck and there weren't any at available at that location. The floor area in passenger and driver sides were covered in dry caked on mud about 14 inches up the sides, and the fool if the truck was SO FILTHY THAT THE NEW CLEAN BOXES I PACKED CAME OUT OF THERE COVERED IN GRIT, GRAVEL AND RED AND BROWN AND BLACK FILTH THAT I HAD TO SPEND TIME WIPING TWICE TO GET IT OFF PLUS CLEAN THE FLOOR FOM UNDER THEM AND THE SOFA WAS DIRY AND NUMEROUS OTHER ITEMS. BARN FLOORS ARE CLEANER THAN THAT TRUCK WAS! Where are the standards for this company. If there are less trucks in use because of covid than there should be less to keep clean. If average person viewed that interior of truck they wouldn't want to use it. If staff on site can recognize that it's so filthy then purchase large clear plastic covering for the floor of truck at the VERY LEAST.Kelly K.

It would be helpful if, in advance of picking up the vehicle, some of the information could be submitted to you. It was a bit difficult in the cold rain and in the dark to take photos of all the documentation required to pick-up the vehicle, especially after your website didn't refresh properly and made it look like my credit card was being declined.Jennifer F.

It isn't my first time using U-Haul services and this one was the worst by far. The person in the office did not bother to give me a solid instruction on where to find a vehicle on a big parking lot, let alone come outside with me to inspect a vehicle. Did not make me aware that there's an extra charge if the vehicle is returned after hours, did not point out where the drop off box is until i asked. Since the vehicle was not inspected I did not notice that the left side windshield wiper was worn out. When i picked up the vehicle the weather was okay but it started snowing very hard yesterday night in Ottawa and it was one of the most terrifying driving experiences. Driving on a highway with a improperly functional wiper made me stay in the right lane and use emergency lights since i could not clearly see the dividing line. Please ensure that this location checks their cars in a proper manner. I would go out of my way to not use this location again and perhaps wouldn't recommend it either. I would like to receive a refund since my life was at risk due to someone else's laziness and incompetence.Artem M.

We were not aware of the pick up location. When called the receptionist from uhaul said that we had a voicemail. On reflection we did but one problem. The girl speaking spoke so quickly neither my husband or I could understand her. Therefore message not understood.. finally got to pick up location. The customer service agent there was great, as our original truck rental was not available and we were not notified by head office. The agent at this location was able to get us a different size truck so we can go on our way.
