Mobile pick up could work Staff could pay attention when vehicles are being returned

The manager (Bradley) on duty had poor customer service, he was condescending, and taunted me with smart remarks, like, “I would be glad to file the complaint for you.” He was even condescending with the gentlemen on the phone from customer service. At the pick up location I was not allowed to touch the trailer. I was told that I was only allowed to drive the vehicle onto the trailer and they would secure the vehicle for me. Once the employee finished putting on the safety chains and tie down straps, I was sent on my way. When I arrived at the Orlando location, the manager ( Bradley) told me that I had to remove all of the safety chains and tie down straps myself or they would charge me $25.00, which I eventually paid as suggested by the individual on the phone from customer service. An employee by the name of Jose understood my concern and removed the safety chains and tie down straps for me. Jose told me not to worry and clearly understood my concern. To my surprise, the manager (Bradley), threaten the employee with a write up. I truly did not understand this manager. Hopefully, U-Haul can see through the craziness and understand Jose’s approach, who for one understood my concern, took a calculated a risk, and did what he felt was correct in his heart and for the company. In my opinion those are the signs of a good leader, because he took the time to listen and understand my concern. I wish I could write a better review, but this location was not good at all.

U-HAUL Rep wrote up the wrong car hauler for my papers. Once we went outside and saw this, he said he’d let me take the other hauler and would update the papers to reflect the correct one later—he never did that I found out. I also told the rep I’d be taking the hauler to a location 8hrs away, one-way trip. He put my return location as OBT store for an hour later. However, U-HAUL online showed a very specific drop off at the destination 8hrs away, and I never use that location. The rep said I can drop it off wherever I want when I’m home. I called the 800-customer service line in Texas and got all the papers fixed, bc the store I dropped off at would have had papers reflecting a completely different hauler. U-HAUL is always good to me, but this has been the one time everything was jacked up.

THE MORNING I WENT TO RENT A TRAILER THERE WAS CHAOS. ONE GUY WAS DOING ALL THE WORK WHILE ONE GUY WAS JUST STANDING THERE DOING NOTHING. THEY COULDNT EVEN OPEN THEIR MONEY DRAWER UNTIL THE MANAGER SHOWED UP. WHEN SHE SHOWED UP SHE WAS RED EYED AND HUNGOVER LOOKING AND NON APOLOGETIC. SHE ASKED ME OVER AND OVER IF I WAS GOING TO RETURN THE TRAILER TO HER LOCATION. WHEN I GOT THE TRAILER IT WAS FULL OF ROCKS DIRT, AND NAILS. I WAITED ANOTHER 20 MINUTES FOR THE GUY TO SWEEP IT OUT. ALL OF THIS TO ME AT THE TIME WAS NO BIG DEAL. BUT THEN I GOT MY BILL........ THEY CHARGED ME $80+ DOLLARS EXTRA, EVEN THO I TURNED THE TRAILER IN ON THE SAME DAY. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THEY ARE CROOKS, BUT THAT THEY ARE IN DISARY AND MISMANAGED.

I get my truck 20 minutes later and I return it 30 minutes after my rental time and get charged another day. So for just 10 minutes difference I was charged another day. I just call customer service andI just hope to get my money back but I have to WSU another day to find out if I get that credit. Never happened to me before and I wish it never happen again.
