I called this location after the 4th St. location canceled my reservation at the last minute (a nightmare). He has something for me, I showed up 15 min later and was driving away with my truck 5 min after that. He was friendly, quick and efficient. I recommend this location.

I brought the UHaul back to drop off about 8:15 pm, after dark, and a man attempted to rob me. The Uber/Lyft driver was afraid to come pick me up at this location. It's a difficult place to go after dark. The facility itself (indoors) was fine for the purpose of renting a van. But go during the day!

The staff at Brads International location were amazing. My reservation was screwed up twice by the scheduling office but the local agents were very friendly and understanding.

No air conditioner and heater was permanently on, forcing me to have the window down only to let the exhaust fumes come inside the cab while idling. Truck had high miles and was very loud. Hard to start as well. Was told to use passenger door only because the driver side was damaged due to a break in. Never again!

The location felt pretty unsafe. It’s in a rough part of town which is okay and common for Uhaul, but there were no lights anywhere. I picked up early morning in the dark and could t see much. My online check-in was rejected several times because I couldn’t get enough light. On drop off the location was closed for no reason which made returning the vehicle difficult.

We booked an truck to pick up at 10:30am on a Saturday morning, at about 9am that morning I received a call from them saying their truck wouldn’t be ready until 12:50 in the afternoon. I asked the lady on the phone why, she said, “I don’t know, maybe you ordered online.” Ok, since there was no other truck available we decided to wait, but at around 10:35am, the lady from u-haul called and told us the truck “has returned”, and ready to be picked up. We picked up the truck, we finished the moving, but the whole experience with u-haul isn’t satisfying at all. There online order procedures are really confusing and messy, obviously their employees has no idea where are their equipments and when they will be returned, and they wasted their customers’ time because of it. Worst of all, the lady from u-haul who we talked on the phone is neither nice nor professional at all. First she blamed us for “ordering online”(seriously? On your company’s website?), then she hung up on us twice when we tried to asked her a few questions ( I swear I was nice to her,but obviously she was too busy to let me finish my sentence), and she’s never apologized for all the confusion and trouble they caused. I will still use u-haul in the future for the price and convenience, but not at this location.

The system attempted to charge me an incorrect price (much higher than what appeared on my printed contract) when I returned the truck after hours. I don't think this was the fault of the location. Maybe it was. If that charge is made on my account it will be disputed and I will act to recover my money because I have a written contract on paper. Hopefully the incorrect charge will not be made. I am waiting for a call from U-Haul. Everything else was fine.

I originally reserved a truck at the UHAUL location 2 blocks from my apartment. I received a notification the morning of pick up that I had to drive several miles away to pick up a truck in Oakland. I tried calling the Berkeley location and they didn't answer the phone. I was not happy driving past the Berkeley location, which had at least a dozen of the trucks I was in need of sitting in the back, while I had to go out of my way to pick up a truck much farther away (and at $0.99 per mile!) it cost me far more than it should have in mileage. However, the people at the Oakland location were kind, quick and professional. The Oakland location can be easy to miss being tucked away in a corner, but the people are great. It's a shame the Berkeley store cant be as professional as the Oakland store.

I reserved a dolly but it wasn't included in my order. When I went to get into the van the cleaning guy's equipment was still in there, and I had to wait for it to be taken out. I received a voicemail this morning asking where I'd dropped off the key—I'd put it into the after hours key drop off, like I was instructed—but no one picked up the phone the several times I tried to call back, and the voicemail box was full. Just seemed kind of chaotic.

Check engine light was on from the start. No moving supplies at all. No boxes, no tape, no nothing. We had reserved two sets of blankets, the person operating the site pointed at a pile of blankets on the floor saying "that's all I have". People have forgotten how to drive to the next Uhaul place and get the bloody blankets???? So now I had to drive to a Uhaul place in San Jose to pick up most of the stuff we needed. Nice! The most significant thing has nothing to do with the pickup location. It has something to do with Uhaul treating its customers like dirt. A "reservation means absolutely NOTHING. It means one day ahead of pickup, when all your opportunities to go elsewhere will have disappeared, somebody will call you to tell you that you have the option between picking up a truck twice the size of what you need halfway across town (also of course guzzling twice the gas), or drive an hour,, and then an hour back, to pick up the only truck available of the right size 60 miles away. So: you will be missing two hours in your moving day schedule, Uhaul will let you know about that already 24 hours ahead of time, and you won't have a choice but to take it - because everyone else will be booked out. And you'll like it, of course. This is very different from the Uhaul I moved with many times. The new Uhaul is just milking the clock. Except, you have just run down the clock on me using Uhaul for long distance moves. To zero. Won't happen again.

I scheduled my pickup at 8am. I got a phone call at 8:16am from them letting me know that they are running late. I was running a bit late also, so I didn't mind, but then I waited there until they got there, which was closer to 9am. I had picked this place because they opened earlier than some of the other Uhaul rentals nearby. What a waste. The couple seemed like they were in a bad mood, particularly the woman. I just tried to stay out of their way and asked very few questions. When I dropped off the Uhaul after I was done, the woman had a 'don't bother me' attitude when I asked questions about my total and receipt. Very poor customer service. I would not rent from here again.

When I picked up the van, the agent asked me to be sure I got it back before noon, as she had a 1 pm customer reservation. I got back at 11:45 and the office was closed. I called the number on a paper sign taped to the window and there was no answer. There was also no key drop.

Manager was friendly,eqpt was dirty plus no once around the truck visual inspection done before hand.I'm sure that's why eqpt started out dirty.My original pick-up spot was changed at the last minute.This made for what was already an expected long day EVEN LONGER.And I was booked weeks in advance.Even visited the chosen location and saw truck desired.

The center was closed when we arrived on Saturday morning to pickup a truck rental that was booked online. The location was closed. We called the phone number that was displayed on a handwritten sign in the window. The person who answered the phone would not provide any assistance unless we gave our credit card number. We did not comply because it's not advisable to give your credit card number to an unverified source from a sign posted in an empty storefront. Our name and reservation number should have been sufficient. We had to call U Haul to get assistance. When we returned the vehicle, the app indicated that keys should be left in the drop box. There was not a drop box in site. The clerk at the adjacent storefront said we should leave the keys with him. The entire experience was confusing and felt sketchy. When we returned the vehicle there was another couple attempting to pick up a van. The had the same experience as is. They called the phone number in the window and were asked to give their credit card number. Of course, they refused. We suggested that they call U Haul instead.

My review is not just for the location, but for U-haul. I will never use any U-haul location again, because there is clearly a problem with the way the entire company treats customers. The mileage on my truck was wrong. I told the vendor and she said she would fix it, but apparently she couldn't be bothered. I was charged for 12 miles I didn't drive, and supposedly U-haul will refund me within three days if she admits she made the mistake and fixes it. If not, I'm not sure if I will get my money back. I had to call customer service three times in 36 hours for various issues on this truck rental. Each time I was put on hold for a lengthy amount of time, and my problems were not even solved. U-haul can't just blame this particular location, because this is clearly a corporate problem. I only ended up at this location after another reservation was canceled and U-HAUL DID NOT TELL ME. I made a reservation a week in advance, but it was canceled the morning of my move, and I didn't find out until I was supposed to pick the truck up. So after customer service was no help, I went on the website and ended up with this other reservation, which then charged me extra money for mileage I didn't use. All in all, a terrible experience. The customer service reps I spoke to were friendly and wanted to help, but they were clearly limited by anti-customer corporate policies. Thanks for being the worst, U-haul. And thank God for Budget, so I will never have to use U-haul again. Moving is already difficult, and U-haul makes it so much worse.
