Upon pickup, tere was trash, including dirty tissues, in the van so it had obviously not been sanitized in any way. The clerk insisted that the tank was 7/8ths full. Customer service was even more HORRIBLE for drop off when the clerk only grunted at me when I asked questions.CHRYS G.

Rent from your local rental car dealer. I booked using Uhaul, and it was a poor experience. When booking online, I added furniture pads to the booking. When I picked up the Uhaul vehicle, the agent was unaware of this. The pads he gave me were dirty, damp, and smelled of mildew. When I brought this to his attention upon return, he said sorry, nothing I can do about that. During check-in and return, he seemed uninterested and uninformed. Poor customer service experience overall. I would not rent from here again.Ryan T.
This location was terrible. I arrived and realized that it is a gas station that is also a fried chicken joint. I went to the counter very confused, asked about uhaul and the person at the counter confirmed I was in the right spot. He looked up my reservation and then told me that I hadn't completed my check in, which I had. In fact I showed him that my reservation reflected that I had completed it. He said I needed to call the uhaul number. I called and stayed on hold for a long time until I got too frustrated and decided I would try to get help at the nearby uhaul store. They were helpful and ended up calling the owner of the gas station/ chicken joint. They instructed me to go back and say that they spoke with Nigel. I was out of my mind- could not believe the level of frustration with uhaul. If uhaul wasn't a monopoly I would never use them again.Mary D.
The appliance dolly and blanket I ordered where not in the vehicle, making it impossible for me to use for the intended purpose. I had to scramble at the last minute to find another solution. The process of checking out and returning the van on my phone while at the place was *ridiculously* complicated, buggy, and time-consuming. The truck was parked so close to another van I had to get help backing out. The rear view mirrors not set in a way that anyone could see out of. Tools were needed to adjust the mirrors and I did not have them so I had to drive blind. Plus the app wasn't working to check-in and take pictures so I got over charged for gas.Katherine I.
When I arrived at the location's parking lot at Pious Petroleum, I had completed the online check-in while in my car and paid on my phone the amount of $148.17 ($99 flat + insurance + fees and tax) When I went into the gas station to retrieve the keys, the attendant, Nick Patel, said I had not paid yet and didn't complete the check-in. I informed him that I had just completed the check-in in the parking lot and had paid minutes prior to entering the gas station, and I had verified my completed check-in by showing him the confirmation message on my phone. He then saw that I did infact pay $148.17, but he then proceeded to write up a new estimate totaling $383.65. Obviously I inquired about the new estimate since I had previously agreed to a deal for $99 flat with 200 miles included, plus insurance and tax. He gave a very nonsensical explanation about in-town versus one-way trucks; I and my friend felt he was trying to scam for more money. He informed me that he would deduct the prepaid amount of $148.17 from the new estimate, and that he was not able to honor the original price on his end. He said the only way he can honor the original price was to have uhaul customer service override the price on their end, so I called uhaul's 1800 number and waited several minutes to be connected to a representative. The representative asked to speak to the gas station attendant and they argued back and forth. The customer service agent over the phone was advocating for me and seemed to also be confused as to why the gas station attendant was changing my order. She told him that if he was not able to provide me a truck under the conditions that I originally agreed to, that he should have informed uhaul sooner so that I could've been directed to another location. Frustrated and already way behind schedule, I asked the agent on the phone if she could help me find another uhaul location with an available truck I could pick up immediately. Overhearing me, it was then that the gas station attendant asked to speak to the agent on my phone, he told her he did not want to waste any more of the customer's time and due to the fact that it was the Uhaul system's fault (a statement that the call agent disagreed with), he was going to provide me a discount that would bring my total cost down to the originally agreed upon amount. I feel strongly that he only intervened because I was about to leave to find another location. When charging me, he applied a discount that brought the price down, however I was charged an additional tax amount, and had to pay another $14.65. I believe the original amount of $148.17 that I paid already included taxes. Charging double tax is illegal. Needlessly to say, I am very upset at the entire experience. I wasted so much time going back and forth with the attendant, my movers' time was wasted as well, and we were put behind schedule resulting in being stuck in lots of traffic. On top of all that, I was also double taxed. I am requesting a full refund. If no refund is applied, I will be contacting my credit card company to file a charge back.Jennifer T.
This place is a joke! I don't think you should allow rentals here. My uhaul phone app wasn't working and the manager did not speak any english and was being very rude! He didn't even want to speak with the uhaul rep I had on the phone. If it wasn't for every other place being booked up I would have left and not rented here! The pick up process is not possible to do entirely through your phone as the keys are located inside. The processing inside takes a bit of time. It would be great if this could be moved to completely via mobile, especially during COVID times.monika R.
Employers barely speak English. They had me wait to sell cigarettes to customers since it's also a gas station store. The person who assisted me after I begged them to help me was on his phone and the tow wasn't properly install ending in damaging the rental property according to the pick up location and a fine was paid. I had tk worst experience with the truck and location. Truck smelled like cigarettes and cigars. Upon pick up the gas level was below the mentioned level on the record. When i tried to take the truck back with the same level, the attendant who happend to work in that gas station told me i should put 5 bucks more in the tank to get the initial level. He then told me that it wasnt enough and had me put 10 more bucks. This was when i was returning the truck AFTER i had already put previous gas in. After the 10 dollars it was already way over and i just spent extra money for nothing. I even took videos/phoyos of everything from the beginning and end of the rental but was not assisted properly. Worst customer service, worst location and worst uhaul experience to date.Edwin R.
The person at the convenience store counter was very helpful. We originally attempted to log in with the 24/7 mobile experience which was terrible. It did not adequately explain how to turn on location services, it required 2 alternate contacts for a total of 4 phone numbers on the account (excessive). It loaded the same page multiple times and required a picture of the drivers license again (after we had already uploaded it during our original reservation). We ended up going inside to transact the staff at the location and this was much smoother. There was no line, he was able to pull up our information right away and he came outside to take pictures of the van conditions we brought to his attention.Jesse H.
I am actually became a regular customer of U-haul in this month. I have Gotten a rental from two other location near Concord and they were great. I am sorry for giving a bad review. I actually feel bad saying thing but I would not recommend this location to anyone. I drove to this location from concord which is 35 min drive because I wanted this rental urgently so that I could make it on time. first I was expecting self checkout by going there and going through your U-Haul share site. I watched video and all info there and I don't see any place that I could click on or go to get the box code. I went into the gas station and all the keys are hanging behind the counter. Waited for someone to who could check able to help me. The guy came out form back room and it took him 20 to 25 min to short before i actually got a key in my hand. It was like I am making a complete new reservation and nothing that I booked on phone mattered. It was hard to understand what he was saying. After I received a key for van I went to do walk around for any damages and to confirm mileage and gas. I come back took a pic of mileage and gas showed him and he said half tank gas. I am showing him it less the half he insisted on half tank. I just wanted to go so I can try and make it on time. I come back for return it took me 30 min to return my rental van due to a costumer ahead of me had to go through the same problems that i went through that morning. When i finally return that van I found out that some how somewhere i got charged $20 extra for I selecting damage waiver that I had no knowledge off choosing. in my past rental, I never had choose that Option because I have my insurance to cover. I am genuinely sorry for this awful review but I think it was necessary for a company's interest to train their employees properly.Bilal H.
This place is a poor representation of your company. The first location, where I had a reservation, on MacArthur BLVD by MacArther Bart station, did actually have the truck, but made the reservation anyway. The only reason I found about about this fact is because I went by the day before my reservation to make sure. Don't make a reservation for a 15 foot truck of you don't have one. This is my primary grievance. I don't fault Uhaul for the neighborhood in which a contractor is located, but I will likely not use uhaul in the future due to my experience on this trip at both locations on Foothill and at MacArthur. I would be highly concerned as a company about the 4280 Foothill location representing your brand.Nicholas E.
