It is not the pick-up location itself, but the process leading to the final pick-up location was misleading, perhaps caused by your poor internal communication structure. The first arrangement was to pick up the truck at IKEA, then at another location, then finally a few days before my reservation date the final place to pick up was the State street location. Also, when making my initial reservation, there was no mention of price differences in drop-off location. I was told of such differences only when I was picking up the truck.

This is my second time renting a truck in the past month from State Street U-Haul. Because I had made a reservation I was able to pick up the truck and leave within minutes of my arrival, returning was a breeze also. Staff as usual was friendly and professional and Markel even remembered me and asked how my floors came out at the new house. If you are you executive at uhaul you want a guy like Markel running one of your franchises. Very pleasant rental experience. Will recommend and rent here again. Reservation agent was also very helpful. Thanks again!

This was my first U-Haul rental. I requested a 10' truck rental for 24 hours, 3 weeks in advance. I received the confirmation email of my 24 hour reservation. A week before the rental, I receive an updated email which shortened my reservation time by 10 hours. I called to have it extended to my original request of 24 hours. A few days later, I received another updated email which shortened my reservation time by 10 hours again. I called to have it rectified again and see what the problem was. The manager of the UHaul could not give me an answer. I can only conclude that though you can request for 24 hours, UHaul will shorten your time to allow another person to rent your vehicle, in order to maximize their profits, at the renter's inconvenience and expense. At the location of picking up the vehicle, I waited 30 minutes to be assisted. The employees working there were very slow with helping people in the line (the person who helped me was Markell). Both staffed representatives were also unprofessional. There was a mother and her baby, who may have been related to one of the employees, playing around behind the counter. UHaul customer service needs to be improved and be made more efficient. At the pick-up, the representative again reduced my reservation duration by 10 hours. No apologies or compensation were provided - the customer service is substandard. According to https://www.uhaul.com/Reservations/ReservationAdvisements.aspx#reservation_guarantee ("When you make a truck or trailer reservation, we guarantee to provide you with the equipment size, location and pick up time, as agreed. Should you not receive the equipment size, location and pick up time you agreed to, U-Haul will pay you $50."), I should be offered the $50 compensation for both not receiving the correct pick-up time and reducing my reservation duration by 10 hours. I would not recommend UHaul, specifically at this State St, New Haven location.

Markell & his staff were very polite. When I walked in the store there was a long line & only 2 computers so I understood the wait. Once I walked in they immediately acknowledged me & apologized for the long wait. Soon as it was my turn Markell helped me quickly & once my contract was finished & ready to go. My truck was my clean & parked with keys waiting for me. Markell was very apologetic for the long wait. But what can you expect it's the first of the month & the weekend of the 4th. I wish Markell & his staff many blessings & pray the week gets easier.

Please allow us to return trucks to either Whalley or state St locations. I returned the truck to Whalley and then had to go all the way to state.
