Lights failed midway thru trip d/t faulty light plug adapter uhaul sold us. Roadside assistance was useless so we had to drive in dense fog /sleet with no lights. Then the trailer door didn’t latch tight enough after our repeated door openings to attempt to troubleshoot lights so we lost over $1k worth of belongings between Aberdeen & Sioux Falls. Horrible service

Only had one issue. security chains did not fit well on my 2015 Honda Pilot. Had to use some force to get them on properly. The two young men in Minot were very helpful and we got it done,

It took 45minutes to pick up the trailer. I am assuming the guy was new as he had to ask questions on everything. Also, light on trailer didn't work so had to wait to get it fixed.

I received a call from U-haul reservation specialist who was trying to confirm my equipment return time. They were very rude to me and shockingly unprofessional. When I reserved the trailer, I was told that if I kept it for an extra day it would simply be an extra $20. The woman who called me seemed personally offended that I was going to be a day late. She blamed me for her having to call another customer and inform him that he would not have a trailer available and then she hung up on me. I don’t think the woman was from one of my pick up or drop off locations, but rather from a u-haul reservation center somewhere. This is why I rated my locations with 5 stars, everyone I dealt with in person was very polite and helpful, but my overall experience was disappointing due to this interaction.

Have what someone reserved available. If not let them use what is available at the location even if it’s the local trucks or trailers and figure out a way to replace it themselves.

Didn’t have the 26’ truck I reserved. UHaul called the day before I was moving to tell me that I could have a 20’ truck and a trailer instead. However, the 20’ truck was 85 miles away (one way) in Tioga. I had no choice but to accept since I was moving the next day. Lady I spoke with on the phone was difficult to work with. She said I would get $75 off for the extra travel and time, but at the checkout I only received $50 off. When I got to Tioga the truck wasn’t ready like they said it would be. Had to call uHaul and wait for the Laundry store owner to arrive and give me the keys. Minot location store owner wasn’t helpful either. My issues seemed to be an inconvenience he wanted to pawn off on the corporate call center.

Damage was not told to the customer. Furniture and bags were soaked during driving. Back of the contract damage was notated but not shown to the customer. Trailer wheel straps were frayed and cut. Extremely unhappy for my move. Will not be using U-Haul again.

Clean equipment before renting it to the next person

I used express check in to reduce time in store. I entered all my info through the express check in. The store took 15-20 minutes to check in and had to enter ALL my info again. I had a credit card on file for the rental and paid cash like I always do (I have rented vehicles and trailers from this location before). They required me to pay more than owed and get a refund when I returned the trailer. This is first time I ever had to pay more when they have my card number on file for damages. Returning the trailer also took a long time as there was only one employee working counter and several others cleaning equipment. This experience was horrible and I am taking my business to a different rental store in the future.

I was treated like a crimminal by the guy who did the paperwork for rental not 5 minutes after giving him $280 for the tow package they put on. Also he could not find my reservation for the trailer even after putting on the tow package, he did not want to rent to me. He needs to put down his phone, stop texting and do his job. If you can check your records, under the name Connie Cook you will see we have rented from uhaul for years. But that ruined it for us, we will not use uhaul anymore.
