This location wasn't even the location I reserved a truck at online. I was able to complete an online reservation at a location much closer to me, but the day before the rental someone called me and told me I had to pick a different location. She said no trucks were available at the location I had reserved, even though I got an online confirmation that one was. When I asked, she could not offer me any reason for that. She forced me to pick another local location for the pick up. I asked why they couldn't just relocate a local truck to the location the Uhaul website confirmed one for me at, but she said that couldn't be done and once again would not provide me with a valid reason that could not be done. She was very cold and unapologetic during the entire call. On the day of pick-up, it took an hour just to pick up the one pre-reserved truck. Part of that time was because a customer was there before me with only one employee working. They were inquiring about and then renting a storage unit. That process took an abnormally long time, but I had no choice but to wait my turn. Then once I was able to inspect my truck and the back door was fully raised, it could not be lowered again. It was getting stuck on the lip of the truck roof and would not clear it to come back down. The employee literally had to find a piece of scrap pipe to use to pry the door away from that roof lip so it could close again. She even sent that piece of pipe with me so I'd be able to pry it closed again later. Also, the furniture dolly I had included with the online reservation was not waiting with my truck; I had to go get one myself from inside the store. No blame to the employee, she did her job as best she could and was very polite. The location was just understaffed and the equipment was not properly maintained nor prepared for me.

They played a switch a roo on me and are forcing me to pay something I didn’t agree to! The option wasn’t fully disclosed. Even though my signature is on the agreement it was electronically signed and I wasn’t able to see the whole agreement. When printed out I let them know I didn’t agree to it and they are fighting me. Very UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE OREINTED!!!!

waited over 30 minutes fro reservation to be completed although I arrived early for my appointment. The gas meter was different on the truck then listed in the system. When returning truck, I realized I was charged for 2 dollies instead of one.

I called and reserved a truck for 24hrs. I went in to pick the truck up around 3:30pm. I was told I had to bring the truck back for 8pm . I then explained to the guy working the front desk that I reserved the truck for 24hrs. He then spoke with a coworker and explained that someone else reserved the truck for the following morning. The only option I was left with was to take the truck and bring it back for 7am. I took the truck because the guy who was helping me was super nice and very empathetic but also because I had no other choice since I could not find another truck in the area. When I brought it back the next day I asked to speak with a manager. I wanted to explain the situation so that it doesn't happen to anyone else . The manager was extremely rude and would not let me speak. I was very confused as to why she had an attitude. I went so far as to tell her that I'm only trying to explain what happened and that if she let me speak she would maybe understand. At this point she started raising her voice telling me there's nothing she can do about it. I asked for her manager's number and she wrote it on a paper. I then asked for her name and she said "Lillie". I asked her to write it down and she threw the pen across the table. Another customer walked in and she continued to yell at me. I felt belittled and ashamed so I left. After I left I checked My account I notice I was charged an additional amount. i called the store and Lillie answered the phone and after I told her who I was she hung up in my face. I called back and someone else answered and explained that I was charged for miles which no one explained to me when I picked the truck up. I was asked for my old address and the address to where I was moving to. I am still very upset because I spent the entire weekend driving back and forward moving things in my car because I could not get full use of the truck I rented. Because of the treatment I received from the manager I would NEVER use any U haul services again nor would I ever recommend this location to anyone.

I was being charged $25 for a piece of paper on the truck floor and the was not calculated right for 2 day rental there was no consideration for miss communication. Make sure you over estimate mileage

I am very dissatified with the service I received. My credit card was charged 3 times for the rental equipment, one of the customer service agents was very rude and unprofessional, and the lack of knowledge to correct the over charges disappointed me. I can assure you that i will NEVER do business with UHaul again due to this horrible experience.

It took two hours to rent a truck. There was no one else in the store at the time.By the time we got it we had done it ourselves online. When we asked for manager, and asked what could be done to kind of make things a little better, she said it wasn't her fault and basically too bad. It was a terrible experience and I would never use U-Haul again.

I would NOT recommend U-Haul Moving & Storage of Metairie at Central Ave in Metairie, LA to anyone! I went in Saturday afternoon to rent U-haul.Shayla the associate started my contract, and we went through the entire process. The total cost was $34. When I tried to finish up the contract, the credit card machine prompt that I would be charged $80. I told her that I am not accepting those charges, because I was already quoted for the $34. I declined the amount as well as ripped up my contract. She told me I was not charged for the $80. She started a new contract. I had to go through the entire process again, because she could not issue the original truck to me. I receive a call about 20 minutes after leaving the location. The associate proceeds to tell me that she accidentally charged me for 2 contract. She will try to refund it. When I checked my bank account, they actually charged it for 3 contracts!!! In total for what should have only been $34, I was charged a total of $194. I went back to the location, and she said she refunded the money. I checked my bank account Monday morning only to find they charged me again!!! The general manager Lillie Adams explains to me that the associate should not have been opening a contract alone. She is still in training. I made her aware that I had my first months rent and deposit due tomorrow. I asked her if my check would bounce, would U-Haul compensate me. She said she would not. Although this is their fault for not having proper training or supervision over trainees, she would not compensate or do anything for the inconvenience. On the other hand, Ms. Flora and Ms. Mia at U-haul customer service were both very understanding of my situation.

A couple of things not their fault: slow check-in as they changed my reservation to better fit my needs. Also forgot to tell them there were baby roaches coming out of the dash! I returned in a downpour and forgot to mention it. Great location and staff!
