Door to truck frozen shut - not real adept in how to free it - I took hammer across snowy and icy edge & freed the door
There should be some way to rent a truck for a shorter time period than a full day. I paid for a 10' truck for the price for one day even though I only used it for an hour. The price I paid was still relatively reasonable, but it is frustrating to have to pay the full $19.95 when you have the truck for a fraction of the time.

One of the employees was extremely rude. When I made a comment about how inefficient the check in process was, he asked "Do you want to rent here or just leave".
I was told the gas gage was not accurate on the uhaul I rented and that I needed to fill it up before returning. I only put 10 miles on the uhaul and had to put $20 worth of gas in. In my opinion, this is unfair.
Your person-to-person experience is top notch. Your website and on-line reservation/check-in is atrocious. Will never use it again. And the frustration apparent on your employee's face tells me this isn't the first time this has occurred. There is nothing straightforward or intuitive about it. If it wasn't for your employees, I'd take my business to another rental company. Don't underestimate my opinion of your on-line presence. It's as bad as it gets.
hands. SERVICE WAS GREAT both picking up and dropping off. Did have to shovel a few inches of snow out of trailer before loading material. No big deal.
When I made my reservation I had added 1 dozen furniture pads. In the past the pads were ready in the truck. I left only to find they were not. I had to come back and the associate told me I should have picked them up on the way out the door. How am I supposed to know that if I'm not told? So I picked up a bag and it turns out there are only 6 pads in a bag. The associate never told me to pick up two bags! Then he sold me a lock which did not have a long enough shank to lock the back of the truck! I asked him if he was sure it would fit but it did not. It turned out to be the kind that's appropriate for a storage locker. All in all, a lot of hassle and aggravation. I didn't go back about the lock because I couldn't waste more time and instead used one from home.

Inside personnel are generally unfriendly - I have been here multiple times. The online check in process is time consuming and cumbersome.
Everything was fine.
Well. The uhaul trailer I rented leaked all over my stuff. My mattress, along with other belongings, were wet when I went to unload it into a storage unit. Currently dealing with the insurance folks.
The entire process was confusing and difficult and the tires were complete garbage.

Overall a good experience, but a few issues that need to be addressed: Pickup: Another employee working the counter told the gentlemen helping me just to give me the keys and find the truck myself, just because there was one or two people waiting behind me. Pickup was scheduled for 7am which I was there for and other people rolled in shortly after. There were others available to help the other customers and thankfully the gentlemen helping me insisted on showing me where the truck was. The truck itself: Someone left a cup of coffee or something in the cab and was completely frozen when I got in. Just goes to show the truck wasn't actually cleaned between rentals. Secondly, the headlights barely worked so driving in the dark on unlit highways (with a load and to the return) was dangerous. Return/Drop-off: This is where I bring most my issue--I was in the lot at 6:50p when the location closed at 7p so I was cutting it a bit close. When I walked in, there were two or three employees working and one quickly dismissed me to go "return the truck myself" stating that the rental return was closed...but there were still people working and there was nothing posted about "return rental hours". I took this as extremely poor customer service and sheer laziness of the guy who "greeted" me at the door. Not to mention I ended up having issues with the website to complete the return, but eventually worked.
Something that would have made this a perfect rental; I actually needed the tow dolly the night before, after hours. What I wish is that there was a way to get an item after office hours, If you could do EVERYTHING online and either get a code or password to unlock or retrieve the item you wish to rent. Even if, due to the convenience and lack of employee to inspect the item, one had to accept full liability and release U-Haul of responsibility.
I was very happy with my experience overall - the equipment I needed was available, and ready on short order. I also like the location and layout of the Verona Road site. I often bike past on the path and chose this location because of your efforts to be welcoming to path users too! The staff I worked with were professional and personable; I felt like they were part of my team helping me with my moving job. Thanks for being a big help.
On line check in app was confusing. I went inside and they associate who assisted was very helpful, but it would be nice if the online process were easier to navigate.
I had a great experience with Ben and the other guys at the Verona Rd location. They went out of their way to remedy a situation that had started out poorly at a different UHual location. Thanks, guys.
Gas was at 1/3 tank. Took extra time to gas up before I could begin my move. Would be nice to start with a full tank upon pickup.
Cheaper rates ! In town for 3 hours $ 80.00 !
