The location and store were great. The man who came out when I brought back the truck was very rude. I was putting the mileage in my phone when he approached the truck. I said, "Can you give me a minute? I'm not ready yet." He said, "then you want to do a self return?" I had him repeat it because I didn't hear. I said, "No, I'm just not ready yet. I'm trying to figure out the mileage.", he stood right there, I was still sitting, basically intimidating me to be done! As I got out, I couldn't find my wallet..I left it at home. I told him that I did & asked what would happen..does he just want me to give him the $8 the chart says I owe? I had 3/4 tank showing. He said, "No. I have to check the mileage and.." I said, "the chart says it's $8..what will happen"? "Well you'll get a fuel surcharge". I said, " Nevermind, I'll go get my wallet". He says, "There's a gas station across the street". ( if I don't have my wallet, how would I pay?! Also, if you supply a chart to follow and the chart says I can expect to pay $8 if there's 3/4 tank left, what's the point of the customer getting the chart?) So I got my wallet, got gas which was $12, not $8. Btw, the tank was *not* Full when I got in it. I noticed that but figured it was faulty equipment & I was about 8 blocks away. So, anyway, now I was really annoyed by everything to be honest. I have been a paying customer for a storage unit for the last 7 years! I've bought and paid to have a tow hitch installed before. I've rented a trailer 3-4 times and hired movers from your website. I pad for a trailer, movers & drove to Texas, then rented a storage unit- drove down a few months later, rented another trailer and drove to WI.! So I'm a long time customer who has paid enough in storage fees to buy a brand new car! Anyway, when I finally got back to Uhaul, the same man came out. I decided to be nice & forget about earlier. So I said a friendly hello. He said it hello back. He looked over the truck then said I drove 80 some miles. I said I did NOT! When I first got in the truck I was unable to read the mileage because the message said "tighten gas cap" which I did but nothing changed. It was when I got ready to leave where I picked up furniture that I could see the mileage & made a note. After I told him that, he lowered it to 72. I said I agree to that. He didn't hear and went on about the odometer and how you can't change what an odometer has...I said louder that I agree to 72 miles & explained at first I was figuring for a one way trip, not 2, but they guessed 45 after I told them I was going further. (I told the guy at the counter that I put 20 miles down but I would now be going further to Janesville, so he put down 45 miles) He snaps, "No YOU put down 45!" I said, "Noooo, THEY put down 45!" Then I outright said, "Why are you talking to me this way?" He wouldn't look at me or apologize, nothing. His tone was better in the last few seconds because we were done. When people come to return the equipment, chances are most are tired, sore, and crabby! There is no reason to add fuel to the fire! I am polite no matter how I feel. I also have to double check everything when it comes to certain things for the simple fact that I'm a woman. I learned that long ago! But your guy was rude from minute one & it was completely uncalled for. He probably assumed I was texting somebody when I was putting in the ending mileage. Maybe he couldn't see that I'm 56! I even told him I was putting down the mileage & that I think I might be overcharged. That's when I realized I forgot my wallet. Anyway, I don't normally tell a company how they did but this time I felt you should know. I don't know if he does this to all women, or assumed I was texting & thought it rude...I really don't know! But after the day I just had, it was the last thing I needed to encounter already being stressed out & in pain! (And a darn good customer). Annette.

Truck was over 3 qts low on oil, front end of truck had newer tire but front end shook and vibrated and pulled to right


The 10 ft can was not in good condition The driver seat adjustment was broken and could it be adjusted Side mirrors which are essential for lane changes and or reversing were so badly adjusted you had the leave the seat and shift front to back to be able to use them Beware the pictures of the actual rental truck They are taken so far from the vechicle that any damage to the vehicle is barely seen in the photos As a result when you drop off the rental the fucking idiot who is one his own at the uhaul store tries to hang existing damage to the hardware on the current rental and an argument ensues Ducking g idiots are hired to work at uhaul so beware uhaul and rent from Ryder truck rental their vehicles are by far superior and maintained unlike the uhaul vehicles which are poorly maintained Pay a little extra and rent from Ryder truck and avoid uhaul since they do not maintain the vehicles and try to pull a fast one when inferior danaged vehicles are returned to this site Remember you get what you pay for Uhaul should be your last choice Mennards even rents fir $19.85 an hour No frills or extras per mile No false fuel tank readings when to pick up the vehicle Generally no idiots at the rental centers either

I did the online thing but the dolly wasn't in the truck and I couldn't find the key. Went into the store and they couldn't find the key either. Went with a different truck of the same size. But switching trucks ended up making check in take longer and be a bit confusing. Overall the truck was good and the workers were friendly, but had a lot of extra waiting because of the confusion of not finding the key. Also the online method could've been better by adding my emergency contact or passport info during initial sign up instead of at check in. I recommend this location mainly because of where it is than anything special about it.

Make sure the vehicles are safer to operate. Alignment was off and the steering was very suspect. We had to keep it at 60 mph top speed on the highway. Luckily we didn't have to move far.


I am being charged over $1,000 for a $168 quote. What a joke UHaul is


I was told to by other waiting customers to use the app for check out because the line was so long. I was grateful my daughter helped me. Morale or staffing problem at uhaul? Or just my bad luck?

I reserved a 26 foot truck. Two days before moving, you mysteriously no longer have that truck. I had to go with a 20 foot truck, and had to incur an out of town fee since I had to pick it up from a Uhaul across town. This severely impacted my move as I had only hired the movers for a certain amount of hours, assuming I had a 26 foot truck. What a terrible experience.


Have more employees to prevent long waiting lines.

I would not recommend the West side location. Reserved a 10 footer the night before and in the morning was running 30 behind so called and switched pickup time to 9:30. Get there and was told my reservation was canceled and put to the Park street location. The west side didn't have my 10 foot truck available and he didn't know why it was canceled, park street also didn't have any. Andy found one at the Verona location and had them reserve a 15 footer for me at the 10 foot rate and reduced the mile to $.39 a mile. I get to Verona and they have no 15 footers available we call Andy and they talk finally got a truck due to Wayne! Wayne and Na'te at the Verona road location were amazing!!

Give the driver a brief tutorial on operating the vehicle. Be clearer about the end time of the reservation at the time the reservation is made.


Do not charge an after hours return fee when I returned the truck before the 7 pm closing time. Very disappointed.


Unfortunately one individual can destroy a good customer service. Make sure that you have always someone for returns.

It's pretty shady to charge per mile and expect the customer to fill up the gas, and especially to leave that out of the advertising until the customer is at the store.

Check in guy was a real a__hole!!!I waited in the check in area,first in li8ne for 20 minutes before he came out.He then went to the truck behind me and started to check them in.I asked him what was up and he got beligerent and said he did not see the truck?????Is that your job,and how can you not see a moving truck parked,lights on waiting,but could see the truck behind it.


All went well and staff was friendly and helpful

The heater in the van didn't work. There were other confusing functions to the van that need additional work in explaining or eliminating (e.g., interior lighting control, Tow Haul default function, etc.)
