Truck was very banged up and dirty. Check engine light was on showing the battery was going bad and was told not to worry about it and thus had to have the truck jump started at one point.

The process is so easy. So much easier than the old days. I’ve rented from 2 different U Haul locations. Both excellent experience. Madison and the Hendersonville locations.

In-store staff: Outline basic contract agreements. It was not explained that the 17ft. truck couldn’t be one way but the 15ft/20ft. Can. They allowed me to drop the truck off and then called later telling me i would be charged x4 what I was quoted. Traffic office/Customer Service: I was not provided realistic options, had blame placed on me for negligence of employees, and was hung up on. Best practice, wherever right or wrong- the customer is always right. The attendant I spoke with gave ZERO effort to resolve my situation. I would be embarrassed if one of my employees acted as the one that I spoke to in the traffic office did.

I was told that the cargo van had a trailer hitch and when I arrived I found out that there wasn’t one. That defeated the whole purpose of my reservation. Cost me time and money to have to figure out a plan b. Also the steering wheel of the van was turned sideways but the wheels were straight.

This location was backed up beyond belief and I had to wait almost 25 minutes to be checked out. The young man at the front desk was also checking out the backed up trucks. reading the gas mileage, and outprocessing everyone. He was doing the best he could, but there needs to be more servicemembers at this location.

My only complaint is a $20 van held for about 12 hrs cost me $80. $80! That is absolutely insane and it will be a long time before I do that again. I knew it would be around $40 because we always end up paying double what you tease people with, but 4x that price is robbery. I could have just paid people to do this for me at that price. Ridiculous.

First: I decided to give your truck share app another try. It failed again. If you're going to offer this mode of rental, PLEASE make it work. Something always fails. So I had to go inside... no one there anywhere. Waited and waited, finally someone came in to help. He said he'd get me straightened out. Went out front to get another truck. I had to wait while he cleaned it out, etc. Finally finished and got on my way. When I got home I noticed that the hood wasn't all the way closed. The inside of the windshield was so dirty, it made seeing out difficult especially when driving into the sun (unsafe). They started me out with 1/4 tank of gas. Overall a negative experience. I use to rent from Budget, but wanted to give UHaul a try. Tried twice, basically a fail both times.

The person who helped us in the morning, when we picked up the truck, was very, very helpful. When we returned the truck in the afternoon, the person who handled the paperwork was not particularly friendly. He needs a little customer service training, I think.

There were no issues at the location, but I did have an issue with the website. I wanted to use a specific location. I selected that location. It did not tell me I could not use that location for any reason, but my final product was moved to a different U-Haul location without any more notice than simply changing the address on my confirmation. I did not notice this because I manually selected the location, and on the day of the rental, I went to the one I chose, not the one I was reassigned without explicit notice. This was my only issue. The product and the people in store have been great.
