The only negative was not being provided with a full tank of gas when received from the facility. Had to stop and fill it up on my way out. This also resulted in me dropping off the truck at the end of the rental with approximately 10 additional gallons of gas in the tank. Tank was 1/4 full when received and 3/4 full when returned.JOHN K.

The â€œSâ€ hook on the trailer safety chain wouldn't fit the attachment point on my vehicle's hitch. The agent had to jury rig it. Unfortunately, the chain disconnected during operation on the road and was dragging. I tried reattaching it but to no avail. The â€œSâ€ hook on the trailer chain needs to have a wider opening. Reserved a 20' truck, 4 dozen pads, and two dolly's a month in advance. Called U-Haul corporate to confirm a week prior. An hour before pick-up on the day of our reservation I get a call from U-Haul who tell me "your truck broke". What!!? U-Haul has one and *only* one 20' truck and they didn't know it broke until an hour before pick up? I ask to speak to a manager and an angry guy hops on the call. I tell him I have 8 folks standing around waiting to get paid and need the truck I reserved a month before. He barks, "I have a smaller truck I can give you as a favor. Do you want it or not?" He adds that he is "the President of U-Haul". I take the smaller truck reservation since I don't have any choice at this point. When I show up there are no moving pads, no dolly's, and the much smaller truck has a smashed radiator and a flat front tire. I look up the title of the angry guy who "did me a favor". He's president of the local Eastern Massachusetts organization, not "the President of U-Haul". If you are thinking of U-Haul, especially anywhere in Massachusetts, do yourself a favor: call a competent organization like Rainbow Movers or Gentle Giant. We were very unhappy that the location closest to our home did not receive the 15 foot truck that was verified several times two weeks prior to pick up - -Instead we received a call the day prior that we had to drive all the way over to Middlesex ave location to pick the truck up -- that added on extra mileage, plus we got lost on the way back to our home due to detours and added more extra mileage. U-haul should do a better job of guaranteeing equipment at the dealer you choose.PAUL T.
I tried calling many times due to a problem with the truck and couldnt get through for hours . i Thought i was calling the store i picked up the truck from so i could exchange it for another but kept getting a middle man that couldnt help me would only recomend creating anothe rental contract in wich i didnt understand.. Ensure that what's ordered is actually placed in the uhaul vehicle. My furniture suffered damage and movers injuries because the furniture cover and dollies for easy transport weren't in the van. Also, the staff was extremely nonchalant about the oversight when I called. No apology or acknowledgement of what happened. I've yet to determine the cost to my furniture.SHAKIYA S.
The Lowell location was fine. In fact, I appreciate them for being accommodating there and helping me. BIG issue with Uhual in general (NOT Lowells location) I was originally supposed to get my uhual truck for a big move, at the Dracut pickup on Bridge St. Got confirmation emails leading up to it and instructions on where to go, time, and how to get my truck, etc. Upon arriving at the time I was said to, and the location, NO ONE was there. It was a car business with a few Uhuals parked out front. Business was closed. Phone number to call was useless. Called Uhuals customer help number and was given a 30-40 min wait time.... mind you, I had a tight schedule because I was *moving* and had movers waiting on me/the truck to load and it ended up costing me a lot more for having them wait. 30-40 min wait time for a big issue PLUS a closed business for a location I was sent to and NO ASSISTANCE whatsoever, definitely an awful situation. I don't know who dropped the ball so bad on Uhuals end, or the business but it was an absolute nightmare. FORTUNATELY was able to find and call another number and they said Lowell could help me. But this whole fiasco could have been avoided and I 100% felt misled and fucked over by uhual telling me to go to this Dracut location and time, for it to be vacant and no help, and lose time/money. It was awful and I can't even express how disappointed I was by that and how much it cost me. Completely messed up.Samantha A.

It is very frustrating to very frequently get a truck with 1/4 tank of gas that only give 100 miles. This means that if I am traveling more than 100 miles, I need to fill the tank up twice. I don't understand why Uhaul can't at a minimum provide trucks with 1/2 or 3/4 tanks as a service to it's customers.doug B.
The store manager left with customers waiting for over 35 minutes. She left the store lock the door and put a sign up saying please wait we'll be back at 9:30. She did this as we were sitting in the lot getting ready to walk in. Several other people were waiting another employee showed up and apologized and explained that it shouldn't have happened and she is so sorry. From there forward the rep who did my order She was great super easy to work with something needs to be looked at with the management.Joshua S.
I rented the 9' cargo van which says it fits a queen mattress on the rental website. I thought this was a little misleading because it does fit, but it takes up almost the entire cargo area. I thought the van would be tall enough to fit the mattress vertically instead of flat, so it ended up being very difficult trying to fit everything in.ANDREAS G.

The lady at the front desk was amazing (didn't catch her name all I know is she has blonde hair), the vans on the other hand are disgusting. The first van I got into was full of cat hair everywhere which I'm allergic too so I asked to get another van and when I hopped it in there was popcorn all over the passenger seat and there was a water bottle in the back flying around which is weird because I thought you guys charge extra when the equipment comes back dirty so you guys could clean it.
