My wife made a reservation over the phone for a 20 ft truck to be picked up at 8 am. I arrived promptly at 7:55 only to find a line of customers to the door with a single employee feverishly working through his Saturday morning backlog. After a 45 minute wait in line I was finally helped only to be told that my reservation had been canceled. The gentleman at the counter exclaimed "they didn't call you?" My reply was no, but I need a truck. Do you have a 20 footer for me? He told me that me truck had never been returned from the day before. I asked what else do you have. He said that all he had was a 15. That would be two trips. He agreed to credit me $25, but forgot to make a note on the contract. Upon return I had to plead my case with an unsuspecting newbie and finally a supervisor. This was undoubtedly that worst uhaul renting experience I've ever have in my life. Next time around I'll take a look at other options. And why on earth only one person working on Saturday morning?

The rate per mile is a little too high, especially for the first 50 to 100 miles, for a day, if there could be a rate for up to 50 miles and up to 100 miles, and 100+, 150+ etc. I took items using the van from 6 miles from home, but the u haul depot was 40 miles away. But there was a flat rate whether one uses 40 miles or 100 or 120 miles. Just a thought.

Equipment was clean, however no one did a walk through of the vehicle and I had to go back in and wait because of issues with the vehicle. People were friendly, but the vehicle was almost empty of gas. My first stop had to be the gas station. The did reimburse me some fuel charges. Passenger side mirror was held tight with a screw which had to be tightened and they gave me a roll of tape in case it loosened up.

Truck was dirty. I cleaned the truck as I didn't want to get charged even though it was dirty when I got it. The worst part is, I put my phone into the center console area cup holder. Little did I know that it was filled with water. My phone was damaged. I won't be using that uhaul ever again and may just start using one of your competitors for any future moves.

I use this location frequently. I haven't run into this much trouble before. The truck was dirty and lots of damage unmarked. The computers were down and it took a long time to rent. The gas gauge wasn't working and I filled too much gas on return. The parts I purchased were higher priced than other shops and did not work properly. When I asked for a refund, they denied me and told me I had to contact Customer Service which I did. Cust. Serv. told me this was unusual and I had to wait for a response. I am very unhappy with this part of the experience.

Rented trailer late afternoon. Told associate that I would be returning same day but after hours. The after hours drop off is why I chose this location. Associate listed return time as store open time, 7am. He instructed me where to park trailer after hours and where to leave paperwork. I attempted to call location the following morning to confirm that my equipment had been properly accounted for etc. You cannot reach location by any number listed. You can only reach uhaul customer service. Uhaul customer service also could not reach store location. After 15mins on the phone while they were trying, customer service left a message for location and told me that they had probably not finished their paperwork for the day yet. 9 hours after location opened I received a terse voicemail wanting to know where the equipment was and why I had not called to extend rental as they had customers who were waiting to rent the trailer I had. I attempted to call the store again. Again I could only reach customer service. Again customer service could not reach store. Again customer service left store a message. After approximately another hour I received another voicemail from a different associate who apologized because the equipment was indeed returned and they had my paperwork. The problem was resolved, eventually, after causing me much grief and worry. When I sign a contract with someone making me responsible/liable I want to have confidence that the people I am working with know what they are doing. There is no method of communication between customer and location. There is very poor communication between customer service and location. There even seems to be problems with communication between associates at the location.

I don't think it is fair of UHaul to charge $7.00 per day for use of the dolly on the truck. What if I only used it for one of the three days I had rented it for? Also, the Safemove insurance is a scam. I was charged DOUBLE for each of the three days I rented the truck. I could have saved about $50 all told if these practices were made more fair.
