The staff here was very professional. Heather at the counter was a multitasking machine and despite being very busy kept a very friendly demeanor. Darrell in the yard was very helpful and worked hard to get my truck wiring working properly. If you need a Uhaul in KC, go to the Locust St location.

The after hours return process is in the top 25 of insane things I've experienced. So much so that I'm gonna walk you through all the things wrong with the process, and reading this won't even come close to being as inconvenient as the after hours return process. Okay so right out the gate you have to go to Uhaul.com and chances are you aren't gonna be able to find the return my rental option. That's because you need a Uhaul account (and to already be signed in on your phone because of course you would be) to see that option. There's NOTHING to imply that this is the case, so if you're like me you wasted 5 minutes just trying to find the damn thing. The other problem is 9 out of 10 people aren't gonna have a Uhaul account! Come on, son. In the 21st century where people have a thousand accounts for every minor thing they do online why would anyone want to add Uhaul to the list. How often do people even rent Uhaul trucks that an account is necessary? Anyways, once you make your account (It's probably been 10 minutes since you started this process) it sends you a verification code. Alright, fine, that's reasonable. Have it sent to your phone and then proceed with your truck return. BUT WAIT, now you need to have another verification code to put in to confirm your account! Why do this? Was this a glitch? On top of the weirdly unnecessary two step authentication for Uhaul of all places you can only get THAT verification code sent to your email! I know you're probably thinking "Well if you had a Uhaul account from the start you wouldn't need two verification codes." And I assure you, nobody has a Uhaul account from the start. Alright so you get the verification code sent to your email, it's been 20 minutes now and you can feel sanity waning. Only now can you start the actual rental return process, hope you weren't edging close to that return time. The first few steps are normal, type in the odometer number and how much gas is left. Then you have to take a picture of the dash. Hmm, little weird. I just told you what the numbers were and a picture is kinda redundant. If I lied then you'd notice when you turned the truck on. Next, you have to take a pic of the back of the truck to show it's clean...why? Is it to ensure that somebody doesn't come by in the middle of the night and take a dump in the truck and I get blamed? Or is it to make sure I didn't trap a live cougar in the trunk to attack whoever's unfortunate enough to open it? If the latter, well, I could just take a picture and THEN put the cougar in. Also, you need TWO pics of the clean truck. It's a large empty box my guy, whatever you saw in the first pic is gonna be in the second. After doing that THEN you have to take a pic of the whole truck to show where it is. I know this sounds pointless since most people, y'now, have eyes. But U-Haul does participate in the Star Nosed Mole Equal Employment Opportunity Program so this one makes sense. Once you've taken a pic of where the truck is, you ha

Maybe have the key to the truck. Don’t f up the drop location after switching trucks. Have competent employees at all locations not just select. Fill the vans to full. I don’t like paying extra for gas. It would be nice to actually be able to complete full drop off at the end. Y’all changed my drop location again on here. Hopefully not charged for that but I’m sure I will be. I won’t use U-Haul again.

I came from out of state and utilized the free one month storage unit. I dropped off and rented a trailer from this location. Throughout the entire experience the staff was friendly helpful and knowledgeable. The storage facility is an old industrial building that has been remodeled beautifully. Great facility and staff.
