Hire people who know how to listen and communicate effectively! I specifically told Ashley that I didn't want the insurance but she still added to my contract. She also put down truck had a full tank when it was indeed 1/2 a tank (thank God I took a photo b4 leaving u-haul location). Also, when I asked her to confirm time of my rental return time she had it wrong so she had to edit contract since it wasn't available until 12:30pm opposed to original rental time of 11am. The heavy blonde spanish woman was very rude, and refused to remove the incorrect insurance charge. If I would have known how bad they were going to screw up the contract I would have definitely read through the contract through its entirety. This was one of my worst experiences ever renting a truck with u-haul, and I've been a customer for over 20 years!!!!!
Went very smooth with the pick up and drop off. Will definitely use U-Haul again.
If a renter doesn't get the size truck they requested and they receive a smaller truck, ask them if they still need as many blankets.
The manager was not wearing a mask and was sneezing and coughing like it was a joke. Another associate was kind enough (and wearing a mask) to come out from behind and wipe down the credit card machine and pen, but the pen I had to use to sign the papers was handled by the coughing individual and not sanitized at all. I have used this location a few times for convenience but this was the first time I had this sort of negative experience. Can't say I will use this location again if COVID safety for customers is not taken seriously by all staff there.
Very efficient process! The associate used the app on his phone to check me out very quickly.
My first place of pick up was in Bloomfield. Incorrect code to the lock box. This place had the trucks covered in snow and ice, poorly organized, we were just sitting there for 30 minutes in the car trying to warm it up. No scraper provided. Not just this location but UHaul in general is a poorly run company. Not worth it.
The Hartford CT, Brainard Rd location had excellent customer service, however I would NEVER recommend UHaul to anyone ever because of the online and telephone reservation process. The lack of definitive information and misinformation and omitted information caused our move to be a stressful disaster. Only the woman at the Hartford location was able to help us in a small way with big effort. UHaul is just short of a scam.
My truck was frozen and had ice all over it. I had to hunt down an unmarked guy for my keys.
Faster checkout. Staff was not wearing masks at all.
I believe the vichle interior wasn't so clean and with some bad odor, also the font desk agent was not to friendly no customer service experince at all. I was standing in from of him not even a good Morning didn't proved me with any information about what changed far as checking the truck nothing.
The first bill they presented upon was return was $174! Telling us we went over the hundred miles. We said no way. We went from there to Cromwell Newington Rocky Hill and back. They went and rechecked and came back with this bill. A far cry from the first one. What would have happened if I was one of those people to just sign? Kim Peltzer
Rested a trailer with burnt lights. Got pulled over for hours and then had to pay extra because of employees negligence. Was also called to be asked to pick up my reservation 30 minutes later because of an overbooking. Poor service.

I am very much upset for UHAUL experience this time, We booked truck and it was not starting, at location we got another one, after returning they charged extra for Dolly which we had taken 2 dolly but they charged for 3 dolly priced, i asked for refund the representative was very dumb and was confusing and was talking useless, I will never book uhaul in future until i get my refund and compensation of my time wasting.
I rented a cargo van and the mat in the cargo area was saturated with gasoline or oil. When I realized this the office was already closed, so we had to drive 200 miles roundtrip with both the driver side and passenger side windows down because of the fumes. When I returned the van, the GM was not willing to make an adjustment because I had used the van, even though the office was already closed when I tried to call about this issue and we had to leave that same night.
Very easy rental, app to inspect truck is great.

Your website is terrible and no one ever answers the phone so you have to go in person to rent a vehicle or a trailer This is very inconvenient
We both failed to see that the furniture blankets were in the cab and the gas tank full, but we were eventually reimbursed. Excellent customer service by both the company and dealer/store!! Appreciate the quick turn around in correcting the issue!!
