The truck appeared clean, but I'm 99% sure that the bed bugs I discovered a few days after moving were from the truck, since I've never had them before and neither has the building I moved to. When I arrived to pick up my truck, there was a slight back up of customers because the people in front of me had made a reservation and their truck wasn't there; I appreciated being helped while they figured out what to do, but it seemed rude that the manager basically made them do all the work to find a new truck at a different location when it wasn't their fault that the one they needed wasn't there. The manager was also answering his cell phone while giving me instructions/having me sign paperwork, so it was a lot of pointing at things and then turning his attention away from me. I understand that it was a busy day, but I felt things would have been smoother/quicker if he has simply given me all the instructions/paperwork and sent me on my way before answering the calls so I wasn't sitting around waiting for so much of the time I was there. I've used other Uhaul locations in SB/Goleta and gotten much better customer service there.

The owner/manager was very rude and tried to add additional charges that were unnecessary. When I checked with U-Haul, I was told that I do not need to put down a security deposit if I'm paying with a major credit card, which I was. This man tried to sell me a trailer hitch and charge me about 90$ total. When I refused the hitch and preferred to go purchase one from a different location, he charged me for a security deposit, which was not charged before until I refused the hitch. His son was very helpful and explained everything clearly and kindly but I would never return to this location.

We reserved the trailer well ahead of the day we were to pick it up. 4 hours into an 8 hour drive we were told there was no trailer available between Salinas and Santa Barbara. Then a 6 x 12 was found. When we went to pick it up we found it was too heavy for our vehicle. Fortunately, this U Haul agent was able to switch trailers with someone who was doing a local move. The reservation process must be meaningful or should be abandoned.

The truck was dirty and the engine was making sounds it shouldn't have been making. Also, I was charged over $60 more than their estimate with no explanation of why. I looked at the bill and it showed no indication of why I was being charged this much and no one has responded to my inquires. The charge should at least be explained, and even at that point my guess is that there is a hidden charge which is not made known to the renter. Overall, $29.99 dollar truck is a complete lie. I went 18 miles, did not damage to the truck, and only used it for one day and I was charged $132. Avoid this business.

Everything was fine. I felt so bad - the owner of the business was so busy and clearly exhausted from weeks of long hours and insanity as students come/go in this university town! He stayed late for me and obviously some other customers and was still there at 8pm when I returned the truck! I really appreciated it. He also had a helper who was very nice and moved the truck across the street for me so I could come back and pick it up after hours. Definitely recommend this location.

The attendant was rude and not helpful. While six employees sat in the office and the manger sat behind a desk he demanded that I fold all blankets. This was indicated in any contract. He threaten to charge a fine if this was or done and even if this was the the manner of his request and the lack of help from his staff was deplorable. Additionally the storage lot was small, and difficult to manuver.

The actual truck and the process of using it was fine, but the day I picked it up was extremely busy and there was only one person there to get people their trucks. I had a reservation for 10:30 and I didn't roll out till 11. Not the biggest deal but somewhat disappointing given I had made a reservation. Room to improve

Oh wow. Worst location; terrible service; got a truck--not what we ordered; terribly disorganized; truck worked out. There are other Uhaul locations around UCSB; I would never use this place again. Originally had a van reserved with another location; called to reschedule for next day and got sent here. The person on the phone who helped me reschedule was nice and helpful and got me a new reservation with a confirmation number. When we got to Goleta Motors at the reservation time, the owner blamed everything on me--although I had rescheduled and had a confirmation number with his outlet, he basically was flying off the seat of his pants. Guess that's how it goes on a moving weekend near a college campus,but this was by far the very worst Uhaul experience ever. Would not recommend to a friend; would warn others not to use. Disorganized, terrible lot configuration and the owner (not his son, however) borderline rude. They were overwhelmed, understaffed and disorganized. Don't blame it on your customers, who, with a small window during which to move, were stuck. It was like something out of a sit com, only it wasn't very funny. What can you do to improve? Warn customers when they reserve that you are at the whim of the lot owner who may or may not have your reservation, the truck/equipment you reserved. A confirmation number doesn't mean a thing. Sorry--it was not good, even though we ultimately got a truck that worked and we got the job done. Left a really bad impression of Uhaul. We were lucky to get a truck, I acknowledge that, but like I said--Wow.

I was very pleased with their customer service and rental. As a single mother moving her daughter who is away at college. I needed everything to go as smoothly as possible. It exceeded my expectations. They even pulled out my rental and parked it across the street at a safe location since their business is located on a main street. Very nice people.

The person that runs this place was very rude. I reserved the truck to be picked up at 7, but he closes at 6. He rushed me to come pick up the truck before 7 and got mad when he had to wait for me for an hour (6-7). I clearly reserved the truck to be picked up at 7 but he gave me and attitude the entire time and made it seem like it was my fault. Also the place was run down and smelled funny. When I went to return the truck, his entire lot was full so I had to park the truck on the street and go back again the next morning to return the truck. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Would not recommend to anyone else. Very bad experience
