There was nothing WRONG with this location; but it's very obviously a pickup/dropoff location rather than a UHaul store, so it was short on "features." Which was fine; I dropped off the truck after hours, and when I talked with people on the phone to ensure that that was OK, they were very helpful.

The location is pretty small and located on a hectic intersection so it makes things difficult (especially when you're trying to drive in a large uHaul truck). However, the personnel there are top notch and work quickly to get you taken care of. Would go back for the service!

Deal directly with local franchise dealer. Needed a 6X12 trailer U-Haul.com tried to send me two hours further to pick up the trailer. Called 1-800 was told that is the best they could do? Really? Ended up renting a truck through Goleta motors moved what I could then jammed the rest in my truck. Like I said Goleta motors did great. U-Haul.com was terrible

No parking available except for the Wendys next door. I was charged $223 before I left the location. Then I was another $150 after I returned the truck. This caused over $70 in overdraft charges from my bank. In what world is this fair? I want the $223 back in my account as well as the $70 overdraft fees caused by your in competent representative

Only problem I have had will every van I have rented is the rubber mat in the cargo area really outgasses and the van smells like a rubber factory until you open the windows.

The fist location we went to where we made our reservation (6640 Discovery Dr, Goleta, CA 93117) did not have a truck for us to use and we were forced to go to this location, which luckily had a truck for us.

My contract was incorrect. The email to respond about any questions or difficulties comes up as nonexistent when you try to email it, and when I call on the phone I just sit on hold and no one answers. The contract show that I returned the vehicle empty, but it was 7/8 full. When the vehicle was started, it flashes that an oil change is needed.

This location has one very narrow lane that you have to back up in, to get the trailer hooked up. There are no spaces to park your car while you wait for service. The owner said to go park next door at the Wendy's restaurant, which has signs everywhere that say you will be towed. Then when your trailer is ready to be hooked up, you have to pull out into traffic on a very busy 4 lane street in order to back into the single lane of the Uhaul business. This is extremely dangerous and no one should be asked to do this, or to park illegally at another business. It took me 45 minutes to get a small trailer that I had reserved on line. Most of the delay was that there was only one person working there, and he had to move larger trucks and trailers around in order to get to the the trailer that I ordered.

The truck appeared clean, but I'm 99% sure that the bed bugs I discovered a few days after moving were from the truck, since I've never had them before and neither has the building I moved to. When I arrived to pick up my truck, there was a slight back up of customers because the people in front of me had made a reservation and their truck wasn't there; I appreciated being helped while they figured out what to do, but it seemed rude that the manager basically made them do all the work to find a new truck at a different location when it wasn't their fault that the one they needed wasn't there. The manager was also answering his cell phone while giving me instructions/having me sign paperwork, so it was a lot of pointing at things and then turning his attention away from me. I understand that it was a busy day, but I felt things would have been smoother/quicker if he has simply given me all the instructions/paperwork and sent me on my way before answering the calls so I wasn't sitting around waiting for so much of the time I was there. I've used other Uhaul locations in SB/Goleta and gotten much better customer service there.

The owner/manager was very rude and tried to add additional charges that were unnecessary. When I checked with U-Haul, I was told that I do not need to put down a security deposit if I'm paying with a major credit card, which I was. This man tried to sell me a trailer hitch and charge me about 90$ total. When I refused the hitch and preferred to go purchase one from a different location, he charged me for a security deposit, which was not charged before until I refused the hitch. His son was very helpful and explained everything clearly and kindly but I would never return to this location.

We reserved the trailer well ahead of the day we were to pick it up. 4 hours into an 8 hour drive we were told there was no trailer available between Salinas and Santa Barbara. Then a 6 x 12 was found. When we went to pick it up we found it was too heavy for our vehicle. Fortunately, this U Haul agent was able to switch trailers with someone who was doing a local move. The reservation process must be meaningful or should be abandoned.
