Have cash money that was given for the deposit readily available when the customer returns to get their deposit back Or put it on the card. AND when the purchase was suppose to bought with the card take that amount as agreed, then instead of deducting it from the deposit that was given and that was supposed to be returned to me on time. I had to go there 3 times in one day just to get $43. and some change which he actually kept the change? Never again with this dealership.
Antonia J.Not charge someone 64 dollars to put the gas tank back where it was when I got it.
Anthony M.Overall I would rate my experience with UHaul as one star or zero stars and I'm not sure I would ever use you again. I'm in the military and made a cross-continent move from North Carolina to Alaska. I originally rented the UHaul for 13 days, but decided I wanted to take some leave during the move as I am from North Dakota and I have not seen my family in 5 years. So I called to extend my rental to May 23 for a drop off date and talked to the North Carolina representative and she was extremely nice and said I had the extension and was giving me 10 free days for my military service. Fast forward to May 12 and I received a phone call from U Haul and was asked when I was dropping the trailer off that day. I explained to him that it was supposed to be extended until May 23 and I couldn't drop it off until then. He very politely informed me that the extension had not been put in but he would take care of it for me. One hour later I received another call from the Anchorage, AK office and was told I needed to drop the trailer off. I explained to her that I was in Western Canada and that I had just talked to someone else an hour earlier and that he was going to put the extension in that was supposed to have already been made until May 23. She then said she did not see the extension and she would have to talk to her manager and call me back to see what needed to be done. Two hours later I finished the drive I was making and called her back to which she told me that she talked to her manager and there was nothing U Haul could do for me but I needed to contact the drop off location to extend the rental. She gave me the phone number and I called 6 times to which I received no answer and could not leave a message due to a full mailbox. So I called Anchorage back and talked to the same lady to see what I could do to resolve the issue. She then proceeded to tell me again that there was nothing else she could do and the best she could do was give me a free rental day to contact the drop off location. I then informed her that I was driving through western Canada and was not sure what kind of reception I would have and that the drop off location did not answer at 230 pm so I was not confident he would answer at all and refused the free day and just wanted her to extend the rental so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. She then proceeded to tell me there was no way the drop off location did not answer and that she could not extend me. At this point I was getting frustrated and was asking her to explain to me how someone who works directly for U Haul did not have the power to extend my rental, and only a location could do that. Her response to my question was only that she could not help me, and I asked to speak to her manager. She informed me that her manager was busy and she would call me back another time. I then asked if I could speak with her managers manager to try to resolve my issue, and she told me that he was not available. At this point I had been on and off the phone with the same representative for 3 hours and was no closer to getting my extension so I asked a second time to speak with her manager. She then proceeded to put me on hold and then eventually hung up on me. I called back and she told me that we had been disconnected and her manager was still too busy to speak with me. So at this time I was very frustrated and asked again how she did not have the authority to extend my rental. This time she answer the question with “Oh my god†and rudely hung up on me. I then called back and her manager was magically free to answer the phone so I talked with her, and found her very defensive of her employee and not overly nice. In the end she actually asked me questions and we got to the bottom of the problem and told me I would have to pay for the days I wanted extended and could not offer me free days. I informed her that I was absolutely fine with paying for the days I just wanted the extension. The first representative did not take the time to tell me any of that, but instead proceeded to just try to push me off to someone else. I would highly recommend that no one deal with the Anchorage, AK U Haul branch as they are very unprofessional and not helpful at all. My wife had also emailed public relations right after the incident to help resolve the conflict I was having, and two weeks later still have not heard from them. I would highly recommend that U Haul hire a military relations coordinator because no one I talked to understood the process that I needed to go through with the military.
