I would rather do face to face than using the contactless...way too many steps and the verification process was difficult when it wouldn't let you use the same phone number again...missed the call and couldn't have the call returned

Everything. I ordered a dolly & did not get it on the truck. This was a horrible inco nvenience for my when trying to move a washer & dryer with no help. I'm disabled & could hardly assist. The dolly would have helped with a queen size mattress set we picked up at a second location with no assist. Now the mattress is all scrapped on the side. The return process was insane. It took us 1/2 hour. The pick up process was mind boggling & confusing. Thought I had everything pre done for pick up & that was not the case. It took us 45 minutes to get the truck & made us 1/2 hour late for our pick up which angered the person waiting. Bad experience all the way around. And we got charged for the dolly!!!
Pick up key box was not clearly located on front of building. Just a black box. Return key box of just yellow no signage either
There isn't much anyone can do right now.. It's not Compass storage or U-,hauls fault. The process of taking all those pictures and waiting for verification was stressful.
Location recognition didn't work. Wasted 2 hours
Very complicated to get the truck and returning it was even worse. No one there to assist you asshole when you call no one can do anything for you. Then they overcharge you because you can't figure out how to turn the vehicle back in on time
The owner just peaked his head out the door when he saw us struggling to get the keys from lockbox. When we returned the vehicle no one was there to assist and had to make a complaint in order for our truck to get checked in. Anyone could have taken the truck on our contract and continued to drive with our miles, it wasn't checked in until I complained uhaul. Poor customer service. My husband and I have used uhaul for years and this was the worst!
My experience started off horrible. I scheduled a share vehicle to pick up from the St. Clair shores, MI location. Once I got there I was unable to get the vehicle. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes. The representative was unable to change the reservation to a self pick up. She transferred me to the 24/7 share rep. Paul Reed, who was absolutely AMAZING!! Paul advises the location I was sent to was not a Share location. He found the nearest location (Compass Storage) which was about 15 minutes away. He stayed on the phone with me the entire ride and even managed to find a way to make me laugh a few times. He walked me step by step through the self serve process and stayed on the line until I was in the truck and pulled out of the drive way. Thank you Mr. Reed for all of your help and diligence. You were professional and maintained such a positive upbeat attitude! You â€œwow'd me and saved a future business for U-Haul. Keep up the â€œGung-Hoâ€ customer service!
Using the app to check in was a pain in the butt. Would not recommend the app to anyone. Always use the human customer service representative.
Truck was grease on the inside had to wipe it down wipe bleach wipes before we could get in it.
Hate doing everything on line. Not tech savvy. Should offer other options. Hitch on the truck was extremely sharp. My husband and I both got nice gashes in outlet due to this.
As a uhaul employee I found it very unacceptable getting into a dirty uhaul. The front of the cab was not detailed, it looked like nothing had been wiped down, crumbs on the seats, candy (m&ms) rolling on the floor, the floor in the driver's and passenger seat were not swept and the bed of the truck was not swept out of leaves and dirt. The app would not let me click the upload feature when processing my rental. With covid-19 our locations still detail every uhaul received and take precautions measures for not only our safely but the safety of our customers, their families and whomever comes in contact with our equipment. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I know this uhaul could have not been cleaned with the seatbelts not being buckled and the uhaul signage in the windshield.
Received vehicle w low fuel and then charged for it
I have used u haul quite a few time and have been very pleased. I do have to say this time the cab part of the truck was filthy.
I was over charged.and i want a refund.
I got charged for the dolly and didn't use it. It should be attached to the truck better because the ziptie broke when my son bumped it.

Clerk in the store wasn't very helpful when it came to returning the truck we were there by 5:45 and she turned off the lights and went in the back because she didn't wanna check the truck back in

When I went to return my vehicle on Friday, my return time that I had set up the day prior was for 230, I arrived at 210 pm and found a closed sign up stating that the employee would return by 240 pm. I attempted to use the uhaul application but was unsuccessful so I contacted the customer service and was on the phone for about 10 minutes and they treated me poorly attemting to walk me through the app that wouldn't work and stating I returned the vehicle at 9 am after going back and forth discussing that I didn't return the vehicle at that time they finally agreed that I could leave the keys in the dropbox. I couldnt use the uhaul app since the vehicle was already "returned". I was over charged by over 350 dollars for my rental because the uhaul person checked in another rental as my rental, I was contacted within the hour of returning my uhaul and informed of the over charge. It took 3 days for the reimbursement and I was finally reimbursed as of yesterday, thankfully I had the money in my account. A very stressful way to end an already stressful moving experience.
