The owner (abruptly hung up the phone while giving me directions to the location, and refused to tell me his name when asked) was extremely RUDE and Abusive.
Trevor MCustomer service stinks. Lady continues to speak creole after i told her i speak only english. She was late to release truck she was out after the other lady in the store told me 5 mins 45 mins later. Then my card was charge $80 plus. I only kept truck for the min 4hrs. Plus gas was on empty and stink with cigarette and tobacco dust. Lady says she cant get the allotted truck to open.
TRUDY DI tried getting the truck through online portal after paying I then still had to go in the location and pay again out my schedule back a few hours then the truck was dangerous is desperately in need of an alignment and new tires truck kept pulling to the left not recommended for out of town moving
Matthew CExtremely Disappointed – Misleading, Poor Customer Service & Overcharged I had a confirmed U-Haul reservation at the Bronx location for 7 AM. After confirmation, I was suddenly told there were “no trucks” and had to pick up from a Manhattan location instead. Yet, I saw over 10 trucks parked at both locations (with photos taken every 30 mins). This misinformation caused me to miss a family funeral I traveled across the country to attend. The customer service at the Manhattan Shell station was unprofessional—no walk-through, just keys and “use the app.” The drop-off process was worse: wrong location, no inspection, and now I’m being charged extra despite a clean, refueled return with photo and witness proof. Over $2,500 spent, and the stress was immeasurable. I’ll never use U-Haul again and strongly warn others to be cautious of deceptive practices.
