We were not able to pick up vehicle at the desired location in Camarillo. We were then told Moorpark, and the day of the rental switched to Filmore. This cost us time, gas and additional Uber fares. U-Haul did not provide any compensation for this inconvenience.

I hired 2 movers for 2 hours through the service. According to the movers, they were not aware they were supposed to show up at the Fillmore Uhaul as the first "Service stop". They claim to have not received a copy of the contract. As a result, they showed up at my house at 11:30 am vs the 11:00 on the contract AND no one was there! My father was waiting at Uhaul for them to show, but they never did. I was finally able to reach them, but by this time (12:30pm) they claimed they had another job and couldn't help us - us being me, a paraplegic and double amputee and my 82 y.o. father. I paid $125.95 up front, but ended up having to find and hire another worker for the day. By this point, we had the truck beyond the 5 hours we'd planned on using it and had to return it after hours, thus having to pay another day of rental. Do you think I'm happy? Hell no! Will I use Uhaul again? Probably not. Though the people at the rental office were nice and very helpful, I need a company I can rely upon for every aspect of my move. Your intermediary hiring service for movers sucks. If the movers don't know where to be on ON TIME, the consequences create a ripple effect as was the case for me. It cost me money, time and a HUGE amount of stress!

My only complaint has nothing to do with this location itself, only the U-Haul website. THE U-HAUL WEBSITE IS TERRIBLE. The information the website tells me is often false, and the information it asks me never seems to get sent to the rental locations. I think you need to have your web designers try to use their own website for actual reservations, including picking up and returning the equipment. Big disconnect between your website and the software that the rental locations use. SAD.

I had a very pleasant experience this weekend at the Fillmore, CA facility with both people who helped me pick up and return the truck rental. Sadly, I did decide to drive one town over from Santa Paula, CA. Due to the fact that when I was originally calling for rental availability in Santa Paula, they lady who helped me was rude and unprofessional. So, it was great that Fillmore gave me much better customer service...

I don't even know where to start. I ordered a 26' truck for pick up in Simi. The day before, I was told I could only get a 20' truck 30 miles away from Simi. 1. I was in the plane when they called and U-haul did not bother to get my agreement before changing the location and size of the truck (my furniture did not get smaller over night) 2. Because the truck was too small, I had to rent with another company to do another trip next week 3. when I booked, insurance was going to be $56. I was charged $86. 4. The contract said the truck was filled up 7/8. It was filled up 3/4... This is from U-haul website: "From its inception, the company’s premise was to help others find an easier, more cost-effective way to move their household goods from one location to another throughout North America." This was definitely not easy OR cost effective. It took a total of 3 HOURS to get the truck!!! Apparently, I was the 4th person having issues with U-haul that morning.

Correction: The location was at W.Hillcrest Dr., Thousand Oaks, Ca. The manager was extremely professional and very helpful in many ways. Would recommend because of the service. However, the lot location is small and cramped; difficult to navigate a large vehicle. It was clean and orderly as could be, but very close quarters.
