Worst experience ever! Horrible staff with zero customer service skills. Unfriendly & uninformative. I was overcharged and had a horrible time trying to resolve. The employee was nasty, argumentative, disrespectful and couldn't care less about my issue. Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a while. I will NEVER use nor reccomend anyone rent a truck from the Farmingdale location. The staff is truly horrible. Will probably never use uhaul again. Moving is hard enough. The moving company shouldn't add to that stress.

I requested a truck in Huntington Station, NY. I was given a truck in Farmingdale, NY. They are over 8 miles apart, 16 miles round trip. At $1.89 per mile that became an additional $30.24 expense. Most truck rental companies have similar price structures. In the future, if there is no truck available locally, I will find a company that has a local truck.

The gentlemen that were working at this location on Friday on Friday July 13th around 330pm were completely unprofessional. Upon arrival I was directed to equipment drop off which was not what was needed as I was picking up a Transport Trailer. After I spoke to the one man who could have cared less that I arrived he then walked away. They were no where to be found for about 10 minute after that period. When they come back all they were concerned about was where I had parked as well as where my mother had parked the car that was to be loaded up. They finally brought me inside which took another 15 minutes to get things going as they had to walk to find a Transport trailer. Then I was advised that there would be a $20 charge to hook up the trailer for “safety reasons”. I have rented numerous trailers from Uhaul and had never been charged for it. I did not want to argue as we needed to load up and move out of state. While my mother finished the paperwork I call the 800 Uhaul number and spoke to a rep who also advised that there was no such thing. After the paperwork was done they had written up the $20 was for furniture pads. We had already picked up and paid for furniture pads. These guys for what ever reason felt the need to try and charge us more. The next day I called up the location looking for a manager who was not there but the rep Nicholas Perez was told the story and he advised me he would remove the charge. I purposely avoid this location as this is now the second time I have had an issue there but it was the only location that had the trailer I needed. An hour after arrival with no other customers in sight we finally had the trailer attached and were on our way. Avoid this location like the plague.

Inform employees at Farmingdale that not everyone knows about options concerning extra days in the contracts, only the woman who has worked there for years knew what to do , also the trailer had a stop and turn signal out , one guy in the shop looked but could not fix it , that’s crazy, I took the trailer anyway, drove according and returned it and made sure the recover knew about it .

When someone makes a 24 hour reservation hold the truck 24 hours and charge them for it if it doesn’t get picked up. Or call them.

I arrived at the location (a location I did not originally request) and they had my 15' truck and blankets but did not have the two dolly's I requested for the move. I asked Mr Perez (employee first named might be Richard?) why and he said "because you did it online" and I said "but they dont let you reserve any other way." He then proceeded to tell me why the truck is the most important factor in the move and I should be able to "lift the boxes." I said "but they are 50 lbs" and he shrugged his shoulders like I was some weakling. Horrible experience. What if I had serious back problems and absolutely needed the dolly and I had one day to move? How do you not have dollys and you are a moving company? And then to get treated like that by an employee? Awful. The employee (Mr. Perez) then hit it home by conveniently not telling me to avoid parkways (he told the guy in front of me though!) AND he "forgot" to tell me where the truck was and I had to find it myself in the parking lot. Horrible.

Have a 50 certificate was never applied at time of return as advised i would be lights not working on uhaul auto trailer in the way home so droopped off one town before final destination to avoid tickets so unprofessional uhaul employees in Jericho stayed u will not get your 50 certificate off for i just saved you 200 for dropping off at wrong location even after i told her lights working intermittently this is so un professional if u hauls expected my 50 certificate should be honered James and Dorothy knight unbelievable 516 724 0737

I recently rented a trailer two weeks in advance from my area location. I think that it was very unfair and inconsiderate that at the last moment I was told that I had to drive 10 miles to an alternate location to pick up and also drop off the trailer at that same location. I have never had a problem with my area location and have always been treated fairly there.This last situation with U-haul has left me very unsatisfied. It was similar to a bait and switch situation. I rent a few times a year and I hope that this problem can be corrected in the name of customer service.Thank you in advance.
