This is a GREAT service. Using your dolly to move my vehicle from one place to another was easy. I was going to use my trailer, but a friend told me about U-Haul. The gentleman that helped me want I picked up this dolly was VERY helpful. You saved me a lot of time. Thanks U-HAUL
The back of the truck was dirty and the truck was only half full with fuel. A full truck is best when leaving on a long trip so an immediate stop at a gas station isnt necessary. It also felt like a very long check in process for having already done everything online. I was not told a time to drop off only a day and was charged an extra $54 because I was late by 2.5 hours.
We never received any of the rental equipment, but was charged for it. Rental truck was very clean and nice. Definitely did the job. I also wish they could of found a closer location to pick up because it was so ridiculous to drive so far.
The charging ports didn't work. The passenger door was messed up. I wasn't aware they were going to call references so I had to wait in the cold to get that situated. A lot of the check in stuff could have been done beforehand had I known.
The man who was working at this location was very friendly and helpful.

It worked fine but wasn't a decent vehicle
I received my billing statement which indicated everything was paid in full. Now I see another charge on my card for 36.91. Every single time i deal with thia company there's a problem. I can't wait to hear what I'm being charged for. This is ridiculous.

The keys for the vehicle were wrong. Took two hours to rectify. We only needed the vehicle for an hour. Major monkey wrench in our day.

Local U-haul had tow dolly on lot but for some reason I could not book it for 24 hour rental. U-haul changed reservation to location 25 miles away. Phone customer support at 608-221-0057 was horrible.
The app (to check out) can use some further refinement. For example, taking pictures (when asked) didn't always upload, etc. Also, felt the app was slow. Finally, the final "verification" process also seemed a slow.
Hire new staff. The old caucasian man literally screamed at me. I asked for him to adjust the time from 4:30 to 4:50, and that seemed to set him off. Although my husband stated that he saw the elderly employee bickering with the customer that left before me... I arrived on time, but had to wait over 20 minutes for him to finish with the previous customer. I felt as though my presence bothered him. He did not greet me. He did not appear to want to interact with me. I asked him to adjust the time because I was forced to wait. His reply was "You are not the only person in the world!". I was in shock. I stated that I had a 24-hour reservation. To which he screamed "No! You are not paying for 24 hours. You are only paying for 4 hours and WE ALLOW you to keep it for 24 hours!! YOU DO NOT PAY FOR THE FULL 24 HOURS!" At this point, he was screaming at me - in front of a newly arrived customer. His tirade continued throughout our entire interaction. I said well, I selected the 24-hour option, not the 4, 5, or other hour option, I selected the 24-hour option on the website, so yes, I am paying for the 24 hours. This seemed to set him off even more. This jerk's behavior was disgusting at best. Not only will I never use their service again, but I will steer everyone I know, away from that horrible UHaul place. I am a frequent UHaul customer. I wish I had this verbal assault on video. Actually, they do have a camera on their customers, so why don't you ask to see the video. If that were my employee, I would not tolerate that type of behavior. He would be fired immediately. I took a ridiculous number of photos of the vehicle, in case they try anything funny. I also returned the vehicle a few hours later, as I did not feel comfortable renting from them. I did not keep it anywhere near the 24 hours I needed it for. This was a nightmare. I did not feel safe to be there. Never again!!!
Ordered our truck on Kimberly Road in Davenport Iowa and was told we would not have to travel farther than Iowa City Iowa to pick it up.Dubuque is over twice as far for us. This was an unexpected inconvenience.
He booked a previous U-Haul for one day of service when I asked for 4 days. Didn't tell me about returning the truck in 9 hours when I thought I had it for days. I paid full price for a truck I had for 3 hours. I literally drove it home, went to work, left work, and returned the truck. That cost me $70.
We dropped the trailer off after hours. There was a parking spot available for the trailer and it was easy to drop it off.
The furniture dolly needs to be maintain. The rollers to take furniture dolly up and down steps was not functioning correctly and left black marks on carpeting. Making this dolly useless. I feel like I should not be charged for a dolly that could not be used. Thankyou
We will use this location again in the future.
The only reason I did not give them an excellent is because they were having computer issues, so it took a few extra minutes.
overall I would NOT recomend UHaul. The new phone pick up and drop off has little to know directions leading up to it as well as has TERRIBLE customer service when you call for help. The specific location in Dubuque was helpful and the man working was great but the company itself needs MAJOR customer service help.
There isn't much room to wait for your turn at the counter, but I gave a rating of above average because the guy helping me was kind, patient and helpful. To get an excellent rating it would need to be something like comfy seats, coffee and doughnuts and perhaps a foot massage... ;-)
