Again, it's what to do to improve for ALL customers. Upon return, the only chargeback from the personnel was to credit 189 extra miles. Interesting as 77970 + 189 is 78159 => 19 miles short of the 78178 miles I left with. In discussing with the personnel and getting a little attitude from him - I let him know that I also work in the rental vehicle field, and it's on us to verify the cars miles and full tank going out. After listening to another speech, I left him politely know that the customer is always right. In the end there was no credit for the additional 4 gallons of gas to return the truck with 1/4 tank, (I should have left it at 1/8 since that is what I started with). That was 1 week ago, and still no credit for the gas or the extra miles purchased and not used. We actually used 90 miles (78268 - 78178) - 1 over the 89 allowed.

The location wasn't the problem, I have done business with them on many occasions before. My problem came in the form of very server access via the corporate end that resulted in an excessive wait time. The counter staff had to go to the old paper trail route because your servers aren't enough to process on a Friday morning. I had to wait over a half an hour just to get to the counter. The real issue was that I was second in line out of three different renters. The second issue I had was with the right side mirror being loose enough to walk every time you started down the road. I have a CDL, so I am very used to positioning to back up, but very few of your renters are. You open them, as well as yourself, just by having that mirror loose enough to turn out of the drivers view of the back of the truck. Manual mirrors and roll down crank windows show that poor purchasing and managerial decisions are more of a problem than the front line business locations!

Eric OAre the people involved helpful and friendly, absolutely. Were they easy to get ahold of, somewhat. However, I felt very blindsided by their prices and wasn't really told until it was too late. The price to deliver my boxes from the Uhaul location in Dubuque to my home in Dubuque was MORE than it cost to get someone to drive the boxes up from 30 minutes away, fill the boxes (not pack boxes but pack trailer) and return them. The price to drive the boxes across the state was only double the price to drive them across the city... which is ridiculous. If I had known this I would have paid someone with a trailer hitch to drive them across town for me, because that was just a complete scam.
