I requested to pick up this truck from Hayward, CA at 8:00am on 12/16 and the night before my pick up date, I received a text indicating that my truck would be available for pick up in Danville at 3:00pm-30 miles out of my way. I called U-haul customer service and was told U-haul had overbooked and the 20ft truck would only be available at this Danville location. They promised me $40 off my rental for the inconvenience as well as extra mileage for having to drive out of the way and when I picked up the truck, there was not credit and no extra mileage. This is the second time I have a bad experience with U-haul. The previous time I rented the truck, I was late to pick up and my truck was given away Horrible customer service by the gentleman at the Jackson St. location in Hayward, CA. If i would have known my truck would be given away, I would have picked it up on time. As you can imagine, moving is stressful enough, and having my truck given away only added to that stress. None of the paperwork or communication I received noted that they truck would be given away if it was not picked up within the hour.

Absolutely awful. Honestly - if anyone else rented trailers u would go with them. Trailer was disgustingly dirty, and was missing a trailer wire. I have no idea how that can be. I had to drive to a different location to pick up a wire. Absolutely unacceptable.



Called location to advise I would be picking up the trailer late. When I arrived the man at the counter told me I was lucky they didn't cancel the reservation and that I should "do better" at advising them next time. I explained that I had called earlier, spoken with someone at their shop and changed the pick up time. Sounds like their staff should "do better" rather than tell the customer as he told me to do. Rudeness does not make for a positive customer experience.

This is not my preferred pickup location. UHaul said I will get a call the previous day of pickup for confirmation, but didnt receive any call. Just got a email\text message saying my pickup location changed. UHaul should have delivered the truck to my preferred location.

I asked for a refund for the extra gas I put in the van. I spoke with a gentleman who ensured me it would get done, but I have not received a credit. Reserved trailer 3 weeks in advance had to drive 40 miles to pick up trailer. Called uhaul and dispatcher could care less that the trailer I reserved to pick up in town was not available and that I had to drive 40 miles to pick up on a long weekend - took me over 2 hours in traffic - not sure what the purpose of reserving was - ridiculous

No one came out to help hook up the trailer. I had to move it and hook it up. The safety chains had no rubber fasteners to ensure they stayed in place.

Arrived and not moving pad available after Uhaul took the electronic order. Then to get the pad, we have to drive to another Uhaul locations. At this next Uhaul locations, they only had half of the pad ordered on-line. Based on all the events at Uhaul we start the moving hours later than planned.... Not the best experience.... the truck was very dirty on the outside, the windows and mirrors were especially dirty making it difficult to see the traffic. took a bit to clean the inside of windshield. Otherwise the truck was fine for the furniture moves.

open the store on time. don't inform customers of a pickup time and now have the store be open at the pick-up time and make them wait an hour while they pay 135$ per hour for movers who are waiting for you at your house to come back with the truck. give people their money back or at least reimburse for the wasted time. have more standard trucks so people can go to the store they requested to pick up the truck. don't use u-haul. give me my money back, should have used a different truck rental company. some people have things to do like move houses and apartments.

I made my reservation about a month in advance, but a few days before the rental we were switched to a different location that did not have the early hour pick-up we specifically wanted. We were told to drop-off our truck at a location that doesn't accept drop-offs. We wasted 90 mins or more of our time getting that straightened out.

Disappointing experience. I reserved a truck and dolly online and received confirmation of my order. I showed up to pick up the truck and was informed no dolly was available. This was a problem since I reserved the truck to move a washer and dryer
