I had a problem with my movers to help unload the truck not show up. I called the site, and their phone was forwarded to main call center. I explained I would need to keep the truck overnight and they had no problem with that and informed me of the extra charge. Within the hour, I got a call from the location manager. Basically yelling at me that I called the main call center and although they okayed the overnight, it was not okay with her and I would have to have the truck returned by 10:30am or I would be charged an additional $125. That she had a reservation for the same truck that the person had made way in advance of my reservation and that they took priority over me. Being the manager of the Coram location does not give her the right to call me and start demanding that I return the truck by 10:30am because someone else was more important than me. I've rented from UHaul plenty of times over the past year and I've had to pick up and return at different locations because of necessity or one location not having what I needed the day of. I honestly hope UHaul follows up at this location. I've read the reviews from other customers and it seems this manager has treated other customers this way also.

Charged my credit card when I was told I can pay cash when I returned the truck. Also card was charged 3 times and still had to pay cash. Price was way more than it should have been. Have to call the main office and find out what's up.

Uhaul did not charge what it agreed to charge my rental was less than 48 hours and I got charged for 3 days when I brought this to the attention of the customer service rep he said that he was charging me three days and to take it up with customer service that in my opinion was the worst answer you could give.

I reserved a truck for July 2nd from 10am to 6 pm. When I arrived at 10am and began my mobile rental process, everything was fine. I got to the point where it said to go in and get my key and I could be on my way. When I went in, the person helping me said she needed to look my name up so she could help me out. She couldn't find my name, had to call someone, and then did find my name. She said to click on "I've got my key" on my phone, which I did, and then it said "you're good to go!". She then proceeded to have a lot of trouble finding my name in the computer (again), had to call a person (again), it couldn't be figured out (despite my phone saying I was good to go), so she had to cancel my reservation and rent me a new truck. I did not leave this center until 11:15, and was told now it had to be back by 5:15. I called customer service, waiting 30 minutes (I'm not exaggerating) to talk to someone, and had to get into an argument about the fact that the first truck rental should be canceled and the second rental needed to be extended to 6pm. They finally agreed, and then I got a receipt via email CHARGING me for the first truck rental, despite me never leaving the location with it. I called customer service (again), waited 30 minutes (again), and was told that I had to clear it up with the center when I returned the truck. Thankfully the gentleman working there in the evening was able to help me out. I lost over an hour of packing the truck and gained a lot of frustration throughout the day trying to remedy the situation, which I'm fairly certain could have been avoided if there was someone competent working there. I don't think I will be using Uhaul for my packing needs again.

2nd time in a month I rented from your establishment, and it’s very poor! Truck this time was smoking from the rear axle,, I have a video to prove it! When I asked the clerk to accommodate me with the vehicle because I brought it in 15 hrs early, his response was , there is nothing I can do! I’d like a call back because I’m really not the type of person to call or type something to corporate! But some of your trucks are not safe for the road!

I think they should set up an EZ pass for customers that needs it and then it gets billed to the customers card. The reason I said that is because someone could just be moving from New Jersey so New York and is not aware of the toll and doesn’t have any cash on them. That’s where an easier process comes in with the EZ pass and the customers get billed to their cards on file.

The odometer reading was incorrect. Check the mileage before leaving!! Was billed for 20 miles I didn’t use. I noticed the bill I signed was incorrect after leaving and after calling 3 times and holding 30min each time with no answer I gave up. Well played Uhaul and lesson learned...... Check mileage before leaving!!!

No trucks were available for people that had reservations, waited in line for 45 min until the woman could figure out how to handle each customer, then they wouldn’t give me an extension on the amount of time I rented for even though I got my truck an hour late. One person working on the 30th of the month when everyone is moving and is in high demand. Terribly run place. Only person who knew what he was doing was the guy I returned the truck to.

Reserved a trailer at the Holbrook location. On the day of pick up i was told that due to mechanical issues (probably rented to a friend?), I would have to pick up and return the trailer to Coram location. While it was definitely an inconvenience and out of my way, I have to say the crew at Coram Uhaul were exceptional. Worked with me to make this inconvenience a little more tolerable.

I would use this location again, but if I have to wait in line for 40-45 minutes again, I’d never come back. I waited while one worker assisted just one customer. I couldn’t believe that I was waiting that long for just one person to be helped. Now, I have to say that the worker was amazing and he was doing exactly what he needed to do, but he should not be the only one working. You need to make sure that you have a sufficient number of workers. Because I was second in line, there were still 3 people behind me who had to wait even longer.

I rented a van with tape over a rip in the roof and not told . I only noticed it on the back side of the reciept after returning the truck. It also said u haul not responsable for water damage. 7 phone calls to this location no answer was told by worker after 4 rings corprate picks up. Finally when corprate answersI was given managers cell , called cell left message call was returned and finally van rented. also tried to call road side assistance. I hung on for 14 minuits no answer . At my shop I have a 3 ring rule , You should try it . Next time I rent I will Try calling a competitor they might answer their phone.In all fairness Agway of Mount Sinai answered Immediately but did not have truck size I needed.

Ashley was great to work with - personable and knowledgeable. My only issue was that we did not want the extra insurance coverage for $8.00 but she accidentally added it. She did apologize and said she could redo the invoice by starting over, ut we were pressed for time and couldn’t wait. Other than that, U-Haul met our needs quite nicely.

I beleive I was a victim of fraud, by the UHaul staff at this location (Coram, NY). Specifically I rented an older appearing cargo van (EQ Number BE9317D, License AH62160 - State AZ) for transporting a table that would not fit into my own car. I tied, secured, and tranported the table carefully, with no incidents whatsoever. Upon returning the vehicle the staff / manager charged me for damages that I did not cause, that I assumed were already accounted for, before I initially drove off. I reported what took place to the police, my credit card company, as well as my insurance company, and remain feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. Unfortunately, based on the experience, I never intend to use this U-Haul dealer again, and suggest the company considers an investigation of the staff there, should this type of business take place regularly.

Items where not labeled in the back of the truck and if moved you are charged . I moved the hand truck for more room and was charged along with the packing blankets neither item was labeled that a charge would be accrued. I will not ever use your service again to nickel and dime like that
