To be honest I wouldn't ever recommend uhaul for anyone ever again. After trying to confirm my reservation I was told my closest truck would be Freedom. I am in Monterey. You see the issue. My confirmation email listed monterey. But this wasn't the case. They then proceeded to tell me that there was a location in my area with the truck I needed but someone else had booked it for the day before but they were late for their reservation. I was confused as to why someone who was late would still be able to get the truck. I was told I would hear back in 30 minutes. Luckily I did. I got the truck in my closer area thankfully. Moving is stressful enough. But then came the time I was supposed to return it. My contract said Martinez but I called to see if there was somewhere closer to us than that since I was 30 minutes from that city. I called Ashley at the Martinez location and was given an address in Walnut Creek for where I could drop the truck. I confirmed everything. I got to that address and was rudely told they won't take my truck. I told them I had called and was given this address. This man at the front rudely told me I would have to drop off the truck at the UHaul Center in Concord. I had been driving all over and was tired and now I had to drive to a different location. Upon getting to this location on Monument Blvd in Concord, It was unclear if I was to wait with my truck or get out and go inside. I went in and stood in line for close to 20 minutes. Finally another worker came out and helped and when I got to him he told me I should have stayed with the truck and someone else would come out. This was past my patience so I went outside and the SAME MAN came out to help me. this was just a ridiculous process and I will NEVER use Uhaul again or recommend them.

This is first time rental for me and I was not sure about gas and put more. It was about 2 gallons more I believe when I returned but you don’t return any refund for that. This is the only thing concerned me otherwise everything else is good. Thank you !!

Rented a cargo van which is $19 per day. Only used it for 4 hours to pick up a furniture in San Francisco, dropped off the van right after 7pm since they closed 7pm. Got charge $118 +, on my receipt that I received in the email. They charge me $99 per day, called uhaul and it seems the customer service cannot help me and saw that I did in fact got over charged and said that only Tanya Taylor Gutierrez (General Manager) will be the only one can refund me the overcharge amount and to expect a phone call in 3 days?? What kind of customer service is this! Not very happy.

We originally scheduled to pick up the trailer in Fairfield but apparently didn’t have any inventory. Concord ended up being s much better location and much better customer service

I ordered a truck in Walnut Creek CA and got assigned a day before late afternoon another location in Antioch which is unavailable by public transport and very rude over the phone when called upon only after several late minute calls we were able to arrange something in concord instead. Terrible service which created a lot of stress the day before our move

1. Train employees to value customers, not treat them like they are a bother. 2. If you cannot provide parking for customers, let them know in advance and don't tell them to go park illegally across the street at Costco. 3. Expedite the process by having more staff able to help get customers checked in and out. 4. Hire employees that know how to drive vehicles without hitting other vehicles in the parking lot. I have used your Concord location many times for years, but today was the worst experience I have ever had.

The customer parking is a little cramped and it’s a little weird to have those guys, who don’t appear to be employees, lingering at the front gate and staring at you as you come and go.

After renting at this location for many years, I went to pick up a truck and was informed that I would not be able to leave my vehicle onsite for the 2 hours that I would need the truck. I was by myself to pick up the rental. While they told me I could park my car at another business across the street, there were signs at that location that parking was only for that businesses customers. So, I had to drive back home, pick up my husband to go back to get the truck. The staff simply states they had signs posted about this new policy - but you only find out after you are there. When there is a change in policy as was the case here- it would have cost nothing to include that information in the same email sent out to confirm the reservation. Instead, it caused a huge stress and delay in getting the rental and we almost missed our rendezvous that caused the need for the truck in the first place. Next time I rent a truck I will explore other Companies. VERY disappointed in this experience!!!

I tried to book it through the website and got a confirmation that did not match the terms of the offer on which I had clicked. After 3 calls to the general customer service number, I finally got someone in this store on the phone who was able to give me a proper confirmation. Another problem with the website (which has since been repaired) is that the terms and conditions of the contract did not display when I clicked on the link to see them. As a former lawyer, I always read T&Cs before agreeing to them. And agreeing to them was a prerequisite to completing express on-line checkin. Otherwise this location was very helpful. I did not have to wait in long Saturday morning counter line to turn in the 10' truck as someone helped me outside and got me out quickly. This location recommends parking across the street in the Costco lot if you are leaving your car as they say there are many breakins to customer vehicles left in their lot overnight. My car was fine the next day when I retrieved it at Costco.
