It sure how much of the later issue was related to pickup, but the pickup staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable. One day after oickup, I was informed by an EXTREMELY rude phone rep from Uhaul that my chosen drop off location (Alma, Colorado) had not been available for over a year, despite the fact the uhaul system AT THE PICKUP LOCATION allowed us to choose it. She was very insulting when I asked about options insisting that Avon was only 20 miles further, which is very wrong and put dropoff 1.5 hours extra. She also was insulting about alternatives I asked about like returning to the same location saying I would have to pay the difference despite this being uhauls fault. Likely the last time I rent from Uhaul due to her rudeness.

I had a question about the emergency brake called the number provided. Was on hold then transferred 3 times without getting an answer. I hung up and figured it out on my own. Every time someone answered they told me they would transfer me to roadside assistance. I never needed roadside assistance.

The building was not at all inviting when there is only one tiny desk and only one person there to help all customers...it was also messy and disorganized. There was only one person working there and is also who checked in my truck, Matt Stempson. Matt claimed that I created 3 new rock-chips in the windshield...although, I only saw 2. We did not hear nor see any rocks hit our truck in any way during the entire time that I had it. Matt then wrote me a bill for a "Broken/Cracked" windshield and claimed that I owe $425.50 to replace the entire windshield, for really 2 hardly noticeable rock-chips. I had rented many trucks from U-haul in the past and this was the very 1st time that I did not get the insurance on it. I felt like Matt was just looking for something to charge me a lot of money for. I had already paid $875 to rent the truck, plus over $200 in gas (I had to borrow the money). I sent the photos to my insurance and they laughed at me and said that this repair would normally cost about $20 and would not cover it. Again, we did not hear nor see any rocks hit the truck while we had it. Also, at this location, there is a highway with fast-moving trucks and cars directly above where you are required to return the trucks. This truck might have been pelted by rocks all night after I dropped it off by this highway. There were rocks all over the ground around the truck from the highway above. I have photos showing all of this. I told Matt about the highway and that we did not cause the rock-chips (or hear or see the rocks hit the truck)...and I told Matt that Ashley in Plano said that they do not count rock-chips (and didn't mark them on the inspection paper) and to call her if there was any problem...he refused to listen to me at all. He just said "I am just doing my job" and tried to get me to sign a promissory note to admit that I owe this money ($425.50). I did not sign it. Then after I had taken a ton of photos of the truck and the surrounding evidence of the rocks and highway, etc. he actually called me when I was almost home and accused me of stealing the keys to the truck (he never gave me the keys to the truck)...the truck was already unlocked, but there were no keys in it that I saw. He then told me that he would have to get a new key made for the truck. I dumped out my purse and checked my car, just in case, but no keys because he never gave them to me. I do hope he found them though. This was the worst experience with U-haul that I have ever had in all of the years that I have used U-haul on countless occasions. Nobody should be treated like the way that I was treated by him. Nobody should be expected to pay $425.50 for 2 tiny rock-chips in a windshield ever...especially that they did not create. I mean, rationally this would not make sense to anyone that 3 rocks hit only the windshield with no new damage to the hood or anywhere else. I doubt of I get 1 rock chip on my car per year...much less 2-3 in one trip. If I did get 3 rock-chips

Location was under staffed with only one person so I had to wait a bit to rent and to check back in. However, once I had to person on my matter, he was very good. Overall very good experience.

If I was traveling any distance with that truck, I would have turned around almost immediately. Luckily, I only had to put less than 30 miles on it so I beared through the horrible suspension, the squeaky brakes, and the shaky steering wheel. The service was awesome, though. I'll be back if I need another truck though!

The start mileage was not correct but I didn't catch it until after I dropped the truck off after close time. It could have been a clerical error. This has happened to me before but at a different location. Shame on me!

Either this owner/operator reserves the worst truck on his lot for brown people, or he wanted to make sure I will never use U-haul again. I choose to believe the later and will never use U-haul or purchase moving/storage supplies from them again. The truck I was given heavily damaged with a replaced/unpainted right front bumper; it was the bumpiest vehicle I had ever been in and was even worse when loaded; the brakes squealed after driving it for 30 minutes; the windshield was SOO dirty, but I wasn't able to see the streaks and dirt until it the sun set and I was more than an hour into traveling; the headlights were so dim that driving at night was terrifying. And I'll be a little petty and toss in that the driver seat was torn. I probably wouldn't have been so aggravated if there weren't 10 other newer trucks of the same size on the lot when I picked the truck up. Not a pleasant experience at all. If you rent from this store and they try to give you a truck covered with "x" stickers (marking damage), a black right bumper, and torn seats, don't think you're being petty - they are. Refuse to take the truck or go somewhere else.

Even though there was some confusion when I arrived, because my paperwork said one return address and the customer service lady gave me this location. The one lone guy working at this location was very accommodating and took the trailer and truck. Very professional customer service.
