Equipment Issue and Poor Customer Service Serious equipment issue and a highly disappointing customer service experience regarding my recent truck rental. During our trip, what should have been a standard drive took an extra four hours due to a faulty ventilation mechanism in the vehicle's gas tank. Every time we stopped for fuel, the gas pump handle continuously clicked off, forcing us to spend over 30 minutes at the pump just to fill the tank. A gas station attendant explicitly confirmed that the issue was due to a broken tank ventilation system. This issue first occurred about 200 miles away from our pickup location, making it completely impractical to return the truck and start over. To make matters worse, we encountered another U-Haul customer at a gas station who was experiencing the exact same issue, which suggests a broader quality control problem with your fleet. When I reported this at the drop-off location, the employee checking in the truck was entirely dismissive. While he claimed he would notify the administration office, his attitude was essentially "it is what it is," which is completely unacceptable. As a customer, I expect vehicles to be thoroughly inspected for quality control before they are sent on the road. This defect caused us severe frustration and a major time delay. I request that this matter be reviewed by management and look forward to your response regarding how this will be resolved.

Stephen SDon’t call me the day before and tell me you can’t rent me the equipment I reserved, at the location I reserved, or at the time I reserved. This is not the Location‘s fault. It is U-Haul systems fault. Don’t let me make a reservation for something that you can’t deliver on. You completely changed my pan plans and it cost me a bunch of money to deal with it. The incompetence of the system is beyond the pale.
