The location was great. The app/checkin process was tedious. Information could be requested ahead of time making pick up and drop off easier for the customer. Cell service was spotty at that location so it took more than 15 minutes to make it through the checkin process and as a single woman standing in an otherwise empty parking lot, that part of the UHAUL experience could have been better. It was not an actual U-Haul store. It was a car wash and the only person working there did not work for U-haul and had to call his manager (Chris Clark) on the phone to help give me the keys. Chris stated he was on his way to help, but after an hour of waiting he never showed up. The car wash guy called him again and Chris finally told him where the keys to the truck were, but instead of handing them over to me he held them hostage in his pocket while on the phone with Chris. He was asking him “if it was okay to give the keys to me” while I was standing right there. I had paid, checked in, did everything right and he was not giving me the keys. After he finally gave them to me, we got into the truck and found that it was filled with fast food garbage and cigarette butts. Once we threw all of the garbage out and turned the truck on, it was left on Empty with 5 miles left on it. We had to immediately go to a gas station and barely even made it before running out of gas. The manager Chris needs to be seriously reviewed because he did not inspect the car before giving it to us. I’m not sure who had it before us but it was left in horrible condition. Chris even lied and told us he was on the way but he never showed up. This whole process was messy and completely inconsiderate.
Rebecca MThis truck was returned approximately 30 minutes before my pickup and did not appear to have been inspected. The floor had not been swept, the windshield was not clean, and the wipers streaked badly during the rain I encountered. The cable on the right side of the roll up door was broken making the door difficult to open and close as it jammed sometimes. I was not given a receipt before I left, so I had to call customer service to have the receipt emailed. Despite these issues I have rated this location average since I have encountered similar issues with trucks at other locations.
