First of all, the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, this pick-up location is can be a little tricky. I live in the Charleston area and needed a trailer to take some items to my brother's place in North Carolina. This was the only U-Haul pick-up location that had the trailer I needed on the date I needed it. I am familiar with Downtown Charleston getting through city traffic on narrow city streets with a trailer to get on the interstate can be a little stressful.

Rented/reserved a 10' foot, but got a 15'. Annoying because I had to drive it 11 hours up 95.

Manager was rude and inconsiderate. Waited nearly an hour and did not receive the 10 ft truck we reserved. We were sent to this location because the site we requested did not have one. There were several 10ft trucks on this property and we were told there were none available. If this were the case, we would not have gone out of our way to this alternate location. Incidentally, after picking up a 15ft truck, our only option, we called our original pick up location and they had a 10ft truck! We asked if we could trade it and were told "no".

Took 30 minutes to get a van (which was longer than it took to actually transport my items) - and there was only one person in front of me. The woman in charge was also smacking her gum constantly and was very unprofessional. The van was clean, but there were several dings on it that hadn't been marked. I thought for sure that they'd be the type to try and get you on other people's damages if you didn't buy the insurance so I was annoyingly thorough (and the guy checking the van with me was not amused). This is the third time I've been to this location, and every time it has been the same story. I would rather go to Mt Pleasant or another U-Haul location than go to the King Street location, which is a 5 minute drive from my house. Will not go back.

I was double billed for gas and fill up fee. I brought the truck back with the same amount of gas and was told by an employee that I would not be charged and was.

Returning trailer had to block the street waiting to get in, maybe move the pickup and return? Besides that no complaints.

My pickup time was 8am. I waited until 8:45 before I could pick up my uhaul. There were two people working but at least 10-12 people in line. The uhaul attendant also did not tell me how to return my vehicle or how to return the dolly and other accessories I rented properly so I was charged extra.

I was very disappointed in the service at this location. The employee was not helpful at the location nor on the phone when I called prior to the pick up date. The employee should not be working in customer service.

I originally had a reservation at Cheap Way # 10 in North Charleston, SC on Tuesday, August 01, 2017 at 10:00 AM for 4 hours,but when we arrived there, the man running the place (which was a dump) said that the truck was not available and told me that he did not know what else to tell me. He was rude and unprofessional. I do not think you want people like this representing U-Haul. Also, I was inconvenienced greatly with being from out of town and had to make a reservation all over again and had to wait two hours but I did not get credited or anything for this terrible inconvenience. This is not how a business should be run. Thank you.

Have used this location several times, but employees move at their own pace. They aren't concerned with how many people are waiting, and act as if they don't have a care in the world! Manager has been nice, but you also have to be efficient, and if the job is too fast paced for who they employ, maybe they need to replace who they have working at this location! Without fail you need to set at least an hour of your time aside for any drop off or pick up at this location!

The woman helping me at the King Street Uhaul location had a horrible attitude. We hooked up a trailer that I had reserved, but I realized after we put it on that the back door slides up instead of opening out. The trailer that has doors opening out allows me to fit more things in the trailer, so I apologized to the woman and said "I'm so sorry, but would you mind if I took a trailer that had doors that opened. I didn't realize there were different doors on this one." She then turned away, threw some keys at a different uhaul and yelled "these things are so dang heavy." She then went and got the other trailer ready. I waited at the one hooked up to my truck and took off the chains to prepare to move it. She walked back up to me, and looking down at the hitch, waved her hand indicating me to do something and with a lot of frustration said, "I need your help." I was happy to take the trailer off and then we hooked up the new trailer. I followed her across the parking lot to go check out, and another employee asked her if we were all good and she said, "yeah we got it hooked up and then he told me he wanted a trailer with different doors. I hate my job." All this with me clearly in earshot and said in a way that made me feel childish and ridiculous for the request. This was a extremely unprofessional experience and disappointing because I've had great experiences at this location in the past.

Nothing I would change.Although, you have an employee by the name of Carol, who I'd like to commend for going up and above my expectations, she was Wonderful.
