Maybe offer a smoke free option. I drove this truck over 2000 miles in a cab that smelled like a bar in the morning. Not fun for a non smoker. Having the windows cleaned from the smoke would have been very nice too. The brakes in the truck were very stiff which made it hard to drive across country.
The guy was really wasnt very nice at all wasn't friendly at all.. he did help me get my car off the the trailer.. which was nice..
Carl's was a pretty nice place. Carl was helpful and courteous. The only issue I had was NOT with Carl's but with the locations. I requested a truck online 11 days prior to my move to be in Tiffin, OH 45 minute drive away from Carl's. One wasn't available for a one way trip. I had to drive to Carl's to pick up the truck and drive it to Tiffin, OH where I needed it. Yes they gave me more miles and a bigger truck to compensate but I still had to drive an extra 1.5 hrs round trip and put gas in the truck for the mileage I did not need but had to use to get the truck to where I needed it.
When I placed my truck order online, I chose the location I wanted to pick up the truck according to the availability of the truck needed. When I arrived to pick it up at the chosen location, it was not there. The truck I was using was at another location so I was late picking it up as it was not where I was told it would be. Another customer that day had the same thing happen to him previously where he had to travel 30 minutes away to get his truck. When orders are made online, the trucks need to be where they are intended to be picked up. Moving is on a schedule and a mistake like these can be costly.

Uhaul made me drive 25 miles to a different location to pick up transport from where originally rented. Also trailer was not at site at time rented. I think I should get a credit for this hassle and inconvenience.
Contact them like you are supposed to when you change reservation pick up location and truck size. regional rep did not okay switch with us had Carl not contacted us and then contacted the rep wed have had a fiasco. my moving blankets were not available for pick up either. had to go to another store to get them.
I rented a 10 foot truck for 4 hours at a charge of 19.95, I also took the 14.00 insurance. I told the man that we only had the truck for 4 hours he wrote the contract for 24 hours. according to your website my bill is for 52.34 they have taken 100.00 off of my card and I still have not had any kind of refund. I got the truck with 7/8 of a tank and returned it with a full tank. I even took a garden hose and sprayed the truck out to clean it well. it was a little muddy when we got it, as we have had some very rain weather I understood the mud, however I did not want to return it in this shape, so I cleaned it out. Now they are holding 100.00 and my bill should have been 37.48, and yet your site says my bill was 52.34, which ok 79 cents per mile, we maybe did 10 miles at the most, at that my bill should be less than 50.00. I am very upset with this company and this location. I will never use this again, and will not recommend them to anyone.

went to get U-Haul and card was charged , and they did not print contract but continue to try and charged card and froze acct. then to go get auto transport lights we're not working. Delayed my trip almost 5 hrs. Am not happy to say the least.

Incredible customer service! Carl made the whole process smooth and easy...Not to mention the absolute coolest U-Haul location I've ever seen. We highly recommend Carl and this location.

Granted I did not double check the miles on the odometer and verify with the paper work or take a picture of the odometer, but you hope that the businesses on both end are honest and truthful. I suppose that was too much to hope for. One end or the other up the mileage on us and charged us for an additional about 170 miles. 125 was included in the overnight rental. I mapquested our route and it should have only been about 110-115. But because I couldn't prove it I get stuck with $70+ in additional charges. Not happy. Feel free to call me 419-562-9291. By far one of the rudest customer service agents I have come across. We requested 30 minutes extra to fuel and clean the vehicle which he denied in a very rude manner. Due to this we returned vehicle a bit dirty and missing a small amount of fuel. We understand this was on us however he then proceeded to call and demand we come out and clean the vehicle or he would charge us in excess of $100. From my understanding the standard fee being $25. He insulted my wife and then while the vehicgle was being cleaned by us he continued to be rude. I would never suggest any go to this man for any business matter if this how small issues are to be treated as if he had just approved an extra half hour there never would have been a concern. Rather he drug out the ordeal for nearly 2 hours.
Was charged for insurance I declined and the contract stated the uhal had 12000 when it actually had 50000 miles when I called to report this was told, by the district manager that was a common sense error and that they know I didn't drive that far! To start off the day I originally was to rent one from Marion where I live and the door was broken so I was send 30 minutes South, was an all around bad experience.
Was not notified ahead of time that my vehicle would need to be picked up in Bucyrus not Marion. Need better communication.

In order to improve for the next customer, I would encourage the information across the board to be accurate - 1) I made a reservation with one location only to find out an hour later that I had to pick up from a different town. 2) While making my reservation, I was advised that upon picking up the vehicle I would pay the DEPOSITS ONLY ($100-truck, $75-Auto Transport) then once we arrived to deliver the items back, the rep would determine if we went over on mileage, left the truck short on gas, etc. and we would pay the tax and for any additional mileage/gas. We had to pay at the pick-up of the items and we're charged after for mileage only. 3) Most importantly and the biggest frustration of all, when we arrived for pick-up of our truck and auto transport, the gentlemen could not find our reservation initially. They took an extra long amount of time because they had difficulty working a computer. We arrived for pick-up at 10:55 am and did not leave until 11:50 am - I made reservations and it STILL TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR! I only gave them 3-Stars because I don't want to hurt some men trying to make a living.
It would have been helpful to have someone explain in person the procedure for drop off when a location is closed. I received an email, but due to no internet service in the town, I only found out after-the-fact how to prove it was dropped off at the proper time. The only thing I knew to do was drop the key in the box and leave.
