U-HAUL RIPS OF THEIR CUSTOMERS! It's a shake down for money at their most desperate time, plus their customer service sucks, there reservation system failed, and they scam their costumers. I booked a 15'' truck for August 31st, at 6:30 pm for 24 hours, i have the email. I arrive early to pick it up, but no truck is available. They told me if one doesn't show up the best they offer is $50. I have to move that day $50 doesn't fix any of my problems. They look up my reservation and it's for Sept 1, I show them my confirmation email for the 31st so they put me next in line for a truck. I wait until almost 8 and finally i get a truck. Then they RIPPED ME OFF! I go to check out the truck and RIGHT BEFORE IS SIGN they tell me my reservation is now for 12 hours, NOT 24. If i bring it back at my reserved time I get charged a them $150 late fee. I have to bring it back at 8 am, but i can't move in until 12 pm..,. I either don't take the truck, they give me $50, and i can't move out that day. Or i pay their shake down fee and move in. I booked for 24 hours, now I have to pay $150 for keeping my reservation. NEVER USING U-HAUL AGAIN! Plus the customer service reps were lazy, rude, and could give a shit about the situation. That stuff is irrelevant to the fact that i got shaken down for $150 on move in day.



Phillip was very rude to every customer. Customers came in smiling and left out frowning. There were 3 people ahead of me; all 3 left upset at his demeanor.

I made a reservation for a 24' truck in the Waltham MA office, when I went to pick it up at the Brockton MA office, they didn't have my truck, only a smaller one. As a result I had to do 2 trips during my moving which had brought many expenses with it. First I spoke with the scheduler manager who said she would refund half of my rental price, I waited two weeks and never got the refund. Than I called again, the other manager said he would call me back since he was busy, its been 2 weeks, and I still haven't received a call back. It would be great if they cared about customer service.

Don't allow customers to choose more hours than they are allowed to while requesting a rental. I requested a 12 hour rental and it went through without issue, it wasn't until a week before my rental date that I was informed my rental was only 6 hours because that is the maximum allowed. There was no mention of this while submitting my request.

Being quite a hectic day, I had to wait an 1.5 hours for a uhaul, and then once I took off I noticed the tank was only at 1/8th. That being said, I was still hit with a late charge for being 5 minutes late upon return. Staff did their best with what they were given but wouldn't recommend at all.

The manager and his staff was just chatting leaving the customers standing in line waiting for them. They only stopped when we called out to them to attend to us and this when more than 5minutes has elapsed. Bad customer service.

The price of $19.99 advertised on the cargo van is misleading. It shows the unwillingness of your company to be straight forward about prices and charges of the service. I was charged $67 not $19.99. I was only allowed only few hours before midnight. Bad!!!

The overall problems with my recent Uhaul experience have nothing to do with pickup/dropoff, they were both very good. The problem was with customer service—never answered the phone, made several mistakes, rude, not well informed and unprofessional... etc. etc. Customer service phone and web was a very bad experience.



Make sure to ask and document all relevant information from the customers and not to just assume things.

I made a reservations for Bridgewater and was unable to pick up there even though the reservation was made well in advance. Was also unable to get vehicle when promised at 7AM on Friday and had to change it to Thursday night incurring additional costs.

My husband and I originally reserved a truck from the stoughton location...Witherspoon the 6pm conformation in my email...they called me the day of stating my truck was suppose to be picked up at noon! I told the lady I'm looking at the conformation sent to my email and it was for 6pm..she said we have no trucks for that time! Even tho I had the conformation! We went to the brockton location and told them what happened..and thank goodness they gave us a truck! Or we would have been in hot water! I gave the brockton location a good rating stoughton on the other hand gets a poor rating as the woman on the phone was unapologetic and basically shrugged she shoulders and said there is nothing I can do! My husband lost hours at work cus he had to leave work early to go find a truck! I'm not happy with the stoughton ma location!

Staff was miserable, quoted pricing incorrectly and was just lazy. Watched an attendant spend 20 minutes on his phone while a family waited for propane, and another one just disregard the check ins he had because of the heat. Had to use this location today because Stoughton didn’t have anything available. Never again

Miscommunications between the online service and the location had us reserve a truck that wasn't able to be rented because it was in maintenance. More miscommunications allowed us to schedule the truck for 24 hours with uhaul while the location had a limit of 6 hours. These miscommunications not only really made our experience incredibly difficult, it made the lives of your employees at this location miserable as they tried their best to help us as well as other people with similar issues. Sort out your online systems and corporate policies so that your local employees don't get screwed over.
