Ensure the customer has everything they ordered before providing the key to the vehicle. I ordered a dozen blankets and assumed they were in the vehicle when I departed. Unfortunately, they were not. I did receive a credit for them but had to find alternatives when I got home to load the furniture.

There was only one guy working this particular day, Saturday August 19, 2017. When my husband and I walked in he was handling another customer. I don't fully know the situation but it took a little longer than anyone else in line expected. We stood there for about 20 or more minutes waiting patiently and we finally got to the front to do our truck return and get a receipt. We walked out to the truck with the guy and he was just very rude from there. He tried to tell us that we needed to put more gas in the truck but it was exactly where we picked it up from. Then he actually looked at the meter and recanted his earlier statement. The truck was just where it needed to be. We all go back in to finish up paperwork and he prints off the reciept and slides the reciept across the counter at us with no eye contact. There was no "Have a nice day." Or "Thanks for doing business with us." Or "Can I assist you with anything else?" He just moved onto the next customer. We were very disappointed with this location and his behavior. We waited patiently in line for our turn just to be treated like crap. I will not be returning to this location.

When I paid in advance, I did not expect to pay anymore and the total cost was more than I expected to pay. I was told a 10 ft truck would be available at 7 am. they had a 15 ft truck ready by 1 pm which extended moving into late at night. The Auburn location had closed at 5:30 . Without asking me they took another 49 dollars using my ATM card number. Money taken this way is stealing. I will NEVER use U-HAUL again.

When we first arrived there was only 1 person working. Overall, took around 30-45 minutes to pick up the van. This process should be streamlined and much faster. Moving is never a fun experience and people are typically in a hurry. If the pick up and drop off process can be faster this can help with the overall experience.

The employee acted like I was stupid when I ask for a hand truck. He had no idea what it was until I elaborated and called it a dolly. He did not know how to process the rental and had to call for instruction. My rental was due after hours so I ask how to return it since they would be closed. He simply shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know. This young man was rude and poorly trained. He should not have been left alone in the store without proper training.

The staff was able to accommodate my last minute reservations and were very knowledgable and helpful. My moving company that I had previously hired to help me move to DC canceled on me the day before they were scheduled to pick up my items. Through UHaul, I was able to reserve a truck to transport my items and a UBox to ship my items to DC. They saved me from having to hire a big moving company at the last minute for a ton of money! Would recommend them as a solid moving company, especially combined with the moving helpers available through movinghelpers.com

The following comments are in reference to the Vestavia Hills location (next to Red Lobster). This store has the most disinterested guys behind the counter you could possibly have serving the public.When I asked about location for pick-up, and I don't understand why I can't have a truck at the Vestavia location closest to me, the young man couldn't give me any idea other than "probably close by somewhere." I asked "as in down the street at the other Ves. location? "I don't know" "CLOSE to Vest?' "Couldn't say" "Atlanta then??" "No... it'll be closer than Atlanta" "How about Gardendale then?" "Yea, could be..." REALL?? This is my second poor experience with Uhaul in less than 2 months. The first REALLY pissed me off. I guess it may be time to at least give another rental agency a chance.

We were scheduled to pick up our truck at this location at 7:45pm Friday evening, arrived at 7:49pm and the location was closed, even though I called 10 minutes prior to let them know we were coming. The posted hours indicated the store was open till 8pm. So we had to call the managers supervisor, who didn't have her number, and all he could do was make sure we could pick the truck up at 7am the next morning because he didn't have her phone number to get her back that evening.

I placed a order 7 days prior to my move date. When I get to the location the rep tells me I don't have a reservation at his location. I proceed to look at my email to show him where I selected the location next to my apartment as my pick up location. He tells me to call customer service and they inform me that I need to travel 16 miles from my current location to pick up the truck I requested. This was extremely inconvenient for me and my family. At this point I had no other choice but to drive all the way out there to pick up the truck. If I knew this ahead of time I would have canceled my reservation with your company. I was able to speak with the regional manager I guess that's her title. Which she was helpful at all. She basically told me it is why it is. And if I had a problem just file a complaint. This was some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. The only good thing I can say is the stay at the 280 were great! The lady that rented me the truck was sweet and patient. And the guy that returned the truck was able to assist me even after they had closed.

I made reservation and I called one hour before picking up my truck to see if I can get it early they told me no but that my truck will be able to pick up at the time I set. Well I get to the store no truck the worker inform me to drive to a different location when I'm half way in route I call customer service and told them my issue and she then told me to go back to the location I just left and they will upgrade me free of charge. So I wasted gas and time. I was suppose to pick truck up at 1:30 I did not receive the truck to 3:00 I'm very un happy. Then to make things worst I paid extra for hand truck well we get to the house to move thing inside truck and guess what No dolly. This has been the worst experience ever. On top of not having dolly, late start and staying in the location waiting for over an hour. It would be nice to have to workers inside the store because the guy was overwhelm and He handle it well but I'm sure He was frustrated bc he had long lines and problem after problem.
